They've always given great service, and had my things arrive on time. I've sent things airfreight overseas, as well as trucking Vancouver to Calgary. I always find on Yelp that only people with bad experiences review places, and having used World Cargo several times, I wanted to give them a much deserved positive review.

Tried to export a Jaguar to Portugal and needed an experienced service provider…read more We went with GoWorlCargo as we did our due diligence and reviewed each company. We were intrigued by their quote and their service promotion online which states: "When it comes to reliable and experienced shipping services, look no further. We're your trusted partner for a variety of shipping requirements. Our expertise lies in international shipping, freight forwarding, and overseas moving. With a collective experience of over 35 years in the shipping sector, our team has established a robust warehouse network and gained extensive knowledge of freight forwarding. This empowers us to provide an array of international freight transportation and shipping solutions that are tailored to your specific needs."! We then paid the $6,000 plus 2% for credit card charge. We explained that we are relocating to Portugal and needed our car there. Something we hoped that would be included in the agreement was the import broker in Portugal. We had to organize that ourselves. We went with ACP (BCAA of Portugal equivalent!) Done! Then we got the info from the broker that, without residence card (which takes several months to receive) we it would not get a tax exemption and importing the car would cost us up to 30,000 euros import tax. So, either put the car that's worth max CAD$3,000 in storage and wait for the resident card first or rather not import the car at all. 35 years of combined "expertise" and no clue about European imports. This company does not know what they are doing at all! Then they told us that Rotterdam would be better as import location. Hilarious, as we still would have to import the car from the Nederland to Portugal, which still would result in additional and very high Portuguese import tax cost. So, again, no experience at all with relevant import/export rules! I truly wonder how an import/export service is not aware of such very important things! Due to the mentioned issue, we went to the GoWorldCargo office a second time to explain the situation and to cancel the service altogether as we now need the funds in Portugal to buy a car. Carlos told us that the cancellation fee would be CAD$ 250. Later on the phone he stated that "what he meant to say was" that minimum CAD$ 250 and the cancellation fee total would be 25% of the 6,000 dollars we'd paid as per contract fine print. I have a recording of the phone call and his statement about "what he meant to say..."! Luckily there are measures to deal with situations like this! According to contract law GoWorldCargo is in breach of contract as they did not show any knowledge about their promoted services. Possible other consequences are a filling with the Civil Rights Tribunal, the Ombudsman, BBB, and the Consumer Protection Agency. All of these may have a very negative impact on the company. For now, we are still trying to give these guys another chance to move our household goods to Europe at a later date. Momentarily we are waiting for a full reimbursement minus card fee. Initially they were on the ball returning our emails and calls quickly. After we were forced to cancel, pretty much crickets! I'll update this thread as the situation develops. Hopefully for the better of both sides!

I've been using this service for about a year to ship eBay sales outside of Canada, and it's much…read moremore practical and affordable than any options Canada Post offers. BUT: 1) Payment method - they really need to expand their payment options beyond just credit card payments to purchase a minimum $10 credit. I stopped using credit cards years ago. If I can pay for things by e-transfer or PayPal online, Chit Chats is really turning their back on getting more business. Instead, I resort to buying. Prepaid credit card just to use this service, with additional fees from the card every time. I sent an email asking them to please consider other payment methods for customer convenience, and I got an email back explaining that they only accept credit card payments ... totally missing the point. Yes, I know you only accept credit card payments, that's WHY I'm asking you to please consider other payment methods. How hard would it really be to have a card reader on site that takes debit? Then I can top up my balance when I drop off parcels for delivery. E-transfer or PayPal online, if not cash or debit on site. Makes more sense than a $5 fee for every $50, 100, 250 prepaid credit card I have to purchase first. 2) it's only insured if it arrive on time. Be aware of this gem from their website: "Since delivery estimates are not guaranteed, shipments that have exceeded the expected transit time are not covered by Chit Chats Insurance.", so the insurance is useless if shipping is delayed? Not much incentive to deliver on time, now, is there? After years of covid-related supply chain issues, what good is this "insurance" policy? Is that why my last shipment sat in Richmond for 3 days before leaving the Vancouver area? 3) Not always open til 7: Also: if business hours are listed as closing at 7pm, please allow me to arrive by 7pm with my packages. Numerous times, I get there at, say, 6:54 to find the place is locked up early and no one around. 4) Label printer compatibility: I can not get my iDPRT SP410 label printer to sync up with chit chats orders or the printer software download at all. The online setup video is vague and even difficult to read text on the screen. I just download the label image, resize it on my phone to 4"x6" and then print that. None of the setup options include my printer, so expect to do some trial & error testing if you run into issues with printing or formatting.

Recently, I visited a DHL representative at Skymart, located at 1816 West Broadway, Vancouver, BC…read more After waiting 15 minutes for her to finish a phone call, I asked about the cost of sending four PR cards to an Asian destination. She initially quoted $256, but after I hesitated, she recalculated and offered a discounted price of $192 due to her employee discount. However, she didn't mention that taxes would be added, which brought the total to around $218. I then inquired whether FedEx or Purolator might offer a better rate. She told me that Purolator doesn't deliver to that country and that FedEx is unreliable, with a price likely similar to DHL's. Despite my reservations about the questionable service, I decided to proceed with DHL. Later, out of curiosity, I visited another DHL location 11 blocks west at 2900 Broadway, where they quoted me $120 for the same shipment. I was shocked by the significant price difference. I returned to the original store to request a refund, but the representative told me their policy does not allow returns. Even though my items were still on her desk (despite her efforts to hide them), she refused to return them, citing store policy. She also claimed to have sent me a tracking number, which was not true--I received the tracking number only about 20 minutes later. I am perplexed by the large discrepancy in pricing for the same service from the same company. I contacted DHL to address this issue, and this is the response I received: "Based on the response received from our retail management team, we would like to inform you that the cost structure for our services is established through confidential agreements with our retail partners and DHL. Unfortunately, we are unable to disclose specific details regarding this arrangement. The rates may vary between the DHL website, retail partner locations, and DHL-owned service centers. Rest assured, we have shared your feedback with our retail partner and have emphasized the importance of staff training and maintaining the highest level of professionalism to prevent similar issues from occurring in the future. Your concerns have been taken into consideration, and we will ensure that Skymart adheres to the necessary regulations. We deeply regret any inconvenience or frustration caused by this recent service lapse, and we are committed to learning from this experience to enhance the quality of our service in the future. As all your concerns have been addressed with the relevant departments, we will be closing the complaint at our end with no further follow-ups. Please consider this matter resolved from our perspective. Once again, I apologize for any delays or inconveniences you may have encountered during the handling of your shipment. Your satisfaction is important to us, and we appreciate your understanding. If you have any further questions or require any additional assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out to me directly. I am here to assist you. Thank you for your patience and cooperation throughout this process." I was shocked by this response and will definitely avoid doing business with DHL or Skymart in the future. I might expect this kind of business practice in countries I associate with corruption, but not here in Canada.
