Came here to try out their IPL photofacial offer I saw on Instagram. Cute place in Yaletown, and parking is fairly easy to find if you come before the dinner rush. My facial was done by Sarah who was super sweet. She took her time to explain how the photofacial worked and gave thorough advice on after care, side effects and expectations for my first treatment. As for the actual facial, it felt pretty quick and the mild pain was tolerable. On par with laser hair removal if you have ever had it done on your face. Can't wait to book my next one! read more

Reason why it's not 5 stars because I'm still interested in other treatments I haven't tried yet, but so far I'm pretty pleased with Vanity Lab. I think pricing are pretty reasonable and they also often do monthly promotions. I had a complimentary consultation with Kendra and she was very patient and honest with answering my questions. There is a procedure I wanted to get done and she let me know right away it would not give me result I was looking for. She recommended I could tried other things the clinic offers as well as other doctors outside of the clinic which I absolutely appreciate. She also answers a bunch of questions I had about other procedures I was interested in. In the end it eventually lead me to Dr. Jalali who specializes in fillers and Botox. Kendra manage to get me the a consultation with Dr. Jalali the next day despite how busy he was. Again he was also very patient with answering all my questions and right away knew what I was looking for. Explained everything he planned on doing and all the pros and cons I need to be prepared for. I booked an appointment and 2 months later I got my lip filler done by him. He did warn me the first few days I might be a little shocked how swollen my lips would be and boy was he right. I couldn't look at anyone for the first couple days cause I looked so ridiculous. Lol. I was a bit worried at first but by the third day the swelling went down to barely noticeable and a week later it was starting look natural. No one knew I had anything done but enough to notice I looked better. I already booked the next appointment with him to slowly build the lips I was looking for. Receptionists are very responsive and appointments were easy to book. Although sometimes the wait could be long but I think it's worth it. I'm interested in getting other procedures done like fraxel laser. Will update again later. So far I'm pleased with this clinic. read more

I have been to MANY cosmetic clinics/spas in Vancouver (searching for the right one) and have never had such a positive experience from beginning to end as I did at The Vanity Lab. I am writing this review after having visited the lab at least 3 times with consistent exceptional service over the telephone and in person (which is RARE, trust me!) Making an appointment is very easy over the phone as someone is always available to answer. They also have an online option to book which is convenient. when I entered the lab, I was greeted with a smile and felt VERY welcome. You would think this is the norm but it doesn't happen very often in other clinics and is a huge indicator of whether I will continue going there or not. Dr. J is extremely kind and listens to what you say. His work is natural but exceptional which is exactly what I was looking for. I did get panicky at one point and almost died (ok I'm exaggerating) but he handled it so well and truly put me at ease. I felt instantly comfortable with him, which is rare! After my appointment I was able to contact him via instagram with any questions I had and he always responded. I also received a follow up call from reception a few days later to check up on me which NEVER happens anywhere lol I'm glad I don't have to keep searching for another clinic. I placed an online order for products Jan 11. Their website said nothing about ship times. So I emailed after a few days to confirm the expected ship times and whether the order carried a tracking number. I got no response. I waited a few days. Then emailed again. Still nothing. It's now been a week with zero response. I tried getting a hold of them via FB earlier today (still waiting). At this point, I'm very disappointed with the total lack of customer service. I will soon be contacting my credit card company to request a refund. A simple response is all I was looking for to tell me about my order. But no response in the face of multiple attempts to contact the company is completely unacceptable. Based on this, I will never do business with this company again. read more

The procedure was not too intense, and there was an abundance of ice cold air to cool off my skin, during the process. My pores were completely refined and almost invisible, after skin healed. Simply amazing! I've had two fractional laser (Fraxel) treatments here and am blown away by the results!! I suffered the worst acne breakouts last year that left some scarring on my cheeks, after just 1 session, the marks faded significantly! Its been awhile since I wrote a yelp review but I am so happy that I felt the urge to share my experience! Located in Yaletown, don't be intimidated by the chic interior and beautiful staff, they're accommodating and friendly. Savannah is pleasant, knowledgeable, and a skilled aesthetician (tbh, being a RN -I was a bit nervous entrusting my skin to a non-MD) but they had a "Friday deal" wherein it was hard to bypass! 3 Fraxel treatments for CDN$735(including tax)! In other places, Fraxel can cost as high as CDN$1k a pop! Highly recommended! Will be back again next month for my third treatment! I had my first visit with Dr. Nguan today and I was extremely impressed by her professionalism, her demeanor, and her knowledge. I have been getting botox semi-regularly at another clinic in Vancouver for my very expressive forehead and frown lines "11's". She didn't seem rushed, and she was very thorough in explaining everything to me. She even explained to me where the other injectors went wrong. I'm very happy with my experience! The girls that work at the reception are also super nice, friendly and helpful. I felt really good walking out of the Vanity Lab, and I can't wait for my results to kick in. I had my second laser hair removal appt today at Vanity Lab & I'm SO impressed! Today I had Bethany. She had an amazing personality, made me feel really comfortable...which is important when doing something so, um, vulnerable/intimate/awkward? (Brazilian so all the undercarriage + armpits). She was quick & efficient. I didn't use numbing cream this time & I felt basically nothing, zero pain. After my first appt barely any of my armpit hair came back. About 80% gone I'd estimate. So super effective compared to the laser hair removal I got about 6 years ago at a different place (where it wasn't as effective AND it was painful even with numbing cream). So I'm a BIG fan of Vanity Lab & would highly recommend:-) read more

I've been here a few times for various skin care treatments, and I have always enjoyed myself and will keep coming back. The staff are always exceptionally polite and accommodating and the facilities are very clean and beautiful. Something that was off-putting to me, however, is that in the waiting room there is a clear advertisement that for each 5 star review (Yelp and Google, I think) they'll give you $25 off your treatments. This feels dishonest. Earn your 5 star reviews with exceptional service and value, not with a piddly $25 credit. Depending on the service you are looking for, you may get better bang for your buck elsewhere. As the name suggests this facility is more of a medical lab, so if you are looking for a spa experience this isn't the place for you. My first appointment here was for a facial, and while my skin felt great after, the experience felt more like running an errand on a lunch break than taking time out of my day to get pampered. There wasn't an option to dress into something more comfortable (I was expecting a spa wrap, or an alternative to my jeans and clunky sweater), and the music playing was some pop radio station. The lighting was also quite bright, and the "bed" was not comfy. In my experience facials generally include a brief neck and shoulder massage, but not here. The whole service lasted about 30 minutes, and then I was up and out the door. I regularly get facials at Project Skin, and the experience is much more relaxing and luxurious - plus the cost is comparable. The person helping me was lovely and didn't push any product on me but was helpful and attentive when I inquired about moisturizer. I ended up spending about $200 on product and they sent me home with some samples and a small gift. Very sweet and generous! read more

Love this place! Every person that helps me with a treatment is so knowledgeable, personable and extremely professional. Bob is hilarious, if you want someone that will make you feel comfortable and laugh he's your go too. My recent experience was with Justine, she's super sweet and I felt that she genuinely cared about helping me treat my skin concerns. She seemed to be quite experienced and confident which in turn made me feel more relaxed during my session. She constantly checked if I was comfortable with the temperature of treatment and how I felt during the process. Thank you Justine! I want to note with Vanity there is absolutely no pressure sales, rushed appointments, and or anything that would make you feel uncomfortable. They are extremely busy, so I would recommend booking a few appts in advance. They are very fair priced and such a well run business, they keep their clients very happy. Everyone is so friendly when you walk in. They send out these amazing Christmas cards (think Kardashian's annual Xmas card) which always doubles as a $50 credit towards a treatment! It doesn't expire and they also allow you to use them towards their current promotions! I don't know ANY other place that would do that! There is almost always a 'can't combine with any other offer' small print. Not at the vanity lab! If you are happy they are happy it seems! I will always recommend them and will continue to go back! I really enjoyed my visit here from start to finish; from ambience to actual treatment. I came in for a consultation and because I had already had microdermabrasion one week prior we opted to do IPL laser to target my hyper pigmentation from UV exposure. Upon walking in the presentation is very modern, simplistic and elegant. Very white white white and lucite chairs which I absolutely adore. Very clean and luxury clinical feel when you walk in. The space is so well lit from the street as well. Gorgeous huge windows just lets the light right in and gives this very opulent feel while overlooking beautiful boutiquey Yaletown. They also carry amazing product lines such as Dr. Zo Medical which is a very well known and high quality skin care brand so you know they're serious. This place just screams professional from the moment you walk in to the moment you're greeted by the staff. Bob is such a wealth of knowledge and he is just so charming that I couldn't help but adore him right away! As for the IPL treatment itself it was great. It was my first experience with laser so I wasn't sure what was to come but it went seamlessly. IPL feels kind of like a rubber band snapping at your face but it's completely tolerable. It's so fast too!! I was happy to be in their hands for this because I have heard so many bad stories about IPL and burns or other complications! They really seem that they have their practice on point so I wasn't worried one bit. My laser tech talked me through the entire process so I felt at ease knowing what to expect next and to just be reassured everything was normal that was happening. This was my first time going to Vanity Lab. A good friend of mine raves about her microdermabrasion treatment so I decided to give it a try. The treatment itself was nice, the clinician was good but I felt it was very sales pitchy. Almost to the point of annoying. I've been a loyal client of another Medi Spa down the street for about 3 years and I never felt this way before. Up on checkout I requested the girls to charge my card on file but I didn't think they were friendly and asked me and I quote " don't you want to leave a tip for Nicole?" Like I said previous - I have been to Medi Spa before and not once was I asked to leave a tip! I honestly had no idea and if I had known I would have but again those girls at the front intentionally made me feel bad. Which intern from sheer embarrassment I said no and left. I feel terrible about this and had they asked me in a polite and professional manner I would have happily left a tip but it was rude and condescending. They may as well have asked for a tip themselves for just ringing me through. Not sure if I will go back after this experience but the treatment itself was nice and Nicole was knowledgeable but just a top sales pushy. read more

Vanity Lab offers a friendly yet very professional, luxe atmosphere, great service, and accessible downtown location. I've had IPL photofacials at three different places now. Of the three, Vanity Lab's was the most thorough IPL itself I've received yet, and the service surrounding it was the most attentive. This is the clinic I recommend to my friends. On my third visit, my technician Rob noticed that I had a bit of tan, and suggested we reschedule my appointment to allow him to do a more effective IPL procedure later on, although he also offered the option of a lower intensity facial that day. I was previously going to another laser technician and sought out someone new because I wasn't impressed with the effectiveness of the treatment and wondered if there was anywhere a little less expensive. I had more hair than I'd bargained for after a year of appts and almost $700. A friend recommended Vanity Lab and after my first treatment I realized I'd been doing it wrong all along! This place is A++. Crystal clean, friendly staff, very thorough treatment. Proper eye protection from the lasers and the technician talks you through what she's doing. Also, the cooling fan (the "zimmer") is a really nice addition to what can otherwise be somewhat uncomfortable. As far as I'm concerned don't waste your time or money trying anywhere else. read more

I went here because of the great reviews and later found out that most of my friends did, but then didn't have the best results so I decided to write about my experience. I went for advice about my acne scarring and breakouts and without any hesitation the lady recommended fractional resurfacing followed by microdermabrasion followed by ipl. 4 rounds like that and my skin should be amazing. I was a bit sceptical because these procedures individually cost a lot, but I was offered four rounds of all three procedures for around $1000. I asked a few more questions - is she sure, my skin is sensitive? What if I don't react well to it? Etc. She assured me it will be great and told me I can pay $250 per each round so if I don't like it, I can stop. I signed up for it, but was a bit worried because she didn't really spend any time with me finding out about my skin or checking it out, but instantly recommended an intense treatment. So I went, and the treatment is painful and you're red for about 2-3 days afterwards. My skin healed well, but what followed was an insane amount of breakouts. I was scheduled to do microdermabrasion after two weeks so I went and asked that maybe I should just do a regular facial since my skin was broken out and super sensitive, but they insisted I should do micro. So I did, and my raw skin was in a lot of pain. After the procedure I started having worse breakouts than before. I was really disappointed because I was finally getting my acne under control and I was just hoping to get rid of scars. And there I was again dealing with the breakouts. Granted I didn't go afterwards and have turned to Glow Dermal therapy for help. I highly recommend Glow for problematic skin. They are so patient and even if you book a peel or facial, once you show up they'll tell you what might be a better treatment for you depending on your skin that day. As for Vanity Lab. Everyone is polite and the space is nice, and it might be worth it for other procedures or if you already have a good skin, but it didn't work out for me. read more

I have given this place several chances & have been very disappointed each time. Their Manager Bob is one of the most condescending people I have ever met. I also would warn everyone out there that the "deals" at Vanity Lab (ie $99 for IPL) are a scam. You know that saying "if it seems too good to be true, it probably is"? It applies here. I have had IPL some at other clinics in Vancouver & had incredible results with one treatment. According to Bob, you need to buy at least 6 in order to see results at Vanity Lab. I tried 3 treatments with their 'deal' and saw zero results. All it did was make my skin worse. They basically give half treatments so that you are forced to go in again and again. I will 100% be taking my business elsewhere for future skin treatments & to repair what Vanity Lab has done. read more

This review is mostly for Dr.Jilali. I was happy with my injections for the most part. He did what I asked and the process was perfectly painless. However, I found his bedside manner leaving a little to be desired. He did very little to calm my nerves and actually got a little short /sassy with me at one point. The whole thing felt rushed and impersonal. During our consultation he seemed more attentive so its possible I caught him on an off day. It was also difficult to contact him with concerns after the procedure. Even though I appreciate his skill I prefer a more personal, friendly approach and probably won't return. But, if you are an injection veteran who prefers just getting in and getting out then he would be a good choice. I love the Vanity lab! I started coming here not long after it opened and all the staff who work here are super friendly and knowledgeable. They always have really great promos on their treatments, offering them at amazing prices. I've been seeing Kim for Laser hair removal and she is awesome! She always makes me feel really comfortable during the treatment and is so gentle. Yet, she always knows exactly what my skin can take and how to provide me with the maximum results. I've been amazed at the results!! In only 7 sessions, I've seen about a 75% decrease in my hair re-growth. It's been great. Kim is also really knowledgeable on all the amazing product lines that they carry at the Lab and on skin/health in general. I actually feel bad, cause I'm constantly harassing her at work to ask her a million questions, but she and everyone else there are so nice, they never seem to mind :) read more

They were nice enough and informative via email, but when I called to say I was running 10-15 mins late for my appointment (insane congestion, accidents, construction, & traffic light outages), the girl made it sound like I may not be seen because there was another booking an hour later. I was never told how long the appointment would take, and was expecting it to be fairly brief. I said I would arrive when I arrive, and that's that. When I did arrive, 15 minutes late, the receptionist barely acknowledged me, then told me I hadn't filled all the intake forms and that she would send it for me to do in my phone, directing me like an elementary school child, and patronizing my confusion saying, "you do have a phone that works?" and dismissing me to sit in the corner. Ignoring her, I began filling out the form, which looked identical to the previous ones, until I got to the second page. I realized they'd never sent it to me in the first place, so I told her, but she didn't care, made no apology, and was now wasting my appointment time after previously scolding me. When I was finished, again, she didn't acknowledge me, and passed me off to the technician. Incredibly rude, there must be a massive stick up her *ss. I have to say, the technician ended up being quite sweet after warming up (which is the sole reason for the second star), but I had already lost my appetite. Regardless, I did feel they are quite sales-y, upselling for multiple treatments. And, we finished 10-15 minutes early, biatch. Overall, they don't deserve my time or money, and they need to fire their receptionist, she's snobbier than the Queen of England. Oh, and there was a massive thick, black hair on their pink velvet sofa, so if they're going to look down on people, they should put their own house in order first. Disgusting. read more

From my first visit here my experience has been nothing short of absolutely wonderful. I wanted to get underarm and facial laser hair removal and put a lot of research into the cost and treatment. I have come every six weeks and have had 4 of the recommended 7 treatments so far. I went from shaving every 2 days to once a week. I have been a client of the Vanity Lab since it first opened, however the quality of service has diminished so radically over the years, with expansion. I just received my third fractional and this one was completed in about 20 minutes. I felt rushed and unappreciated, as a client, with the front desk staff unwelcoming with little to no customer service. I used to enjoy visiting the Vanity Lab and believed that it provided excellent value for the money, however I do not agree with this anymore. Although the prices are very competitive, I would rather spend more and get a quality laser treatment. As my face is only slightly red from this treatment, I am quite certain this fractional was a waste of my money and time. read more
