She showed me the room and explained all of its features. The place is very nicely decorated with the railroad being it's theme. There is a large assortment of rr books for you to browse thru, but I had a great time just sitting and talking with the owners. My room was spacious and nicely decorated. I wish my schedule had allowed me more time instead of just the one night. I hope to enjoy this wonderful bed and breakfast again in the future.

It is one of our favorites now, and we can't wait to go back. The new manager's of the property Christopher and Jessica are fabulous hosts. From the moment we stepped through the wooden entrance doors, we felt a calm and peace fall over us. We stayed in the Abiquiu Lake Suite and it was amazing. Jessica greeted us and showed us around the property and our suite and we settled in. The Hacienda is tucked on a hill, down several dirt roads and through an entrance gate, you may begin to wonder if you are on the right path, just follow their instructions and you will be fine. The property is beautiful with stunning views. With just 3 rooms, you will feel like you have the place to yourself. The breakfast room/great room with a fireplace is a wonderful gathering spot with games. Step out on the patio or walk down the short path to the jacuzzi, it is beautiful. Now to our room. The king bed was so comfortable, the two indoor chairs at the foot of the bed are comfy and easy to sit and read. But even better, step out onto your private patio with chaise lounges and soak in the views of the lake and landscape. All 3 rooms have their own private patio's, you can't go wrong with any of them. The bathroom was huge with double sinks and the shower huge. We were extremely comfortable. The breakfasts at the inn are scrumptious. Our first breakfast started with vanilla yogurt and chia seeds, topped with honey, fresh fruit and mint. Then Jessica brought out Avocado toast with pine nuts and a soft egg. By now I am happily full. But wait, Jessica and Christopher bring out the main breakfast walnut bread French toast with syrup and almond whipped cream, with potato hash. Mr. B had ham also, with me being primarily vegetarian I had roasted fresh figs with goat cheese. We did have dinner one night during our stay and again it was delicious. Each afternoon, there is a snack for the guests in the great room too. There is a guest utility type room with a refrigerator, so if you have drinks or juices you want to keep cold, you can store them in the fridge. Our stay was truly memorable, it couldn't have been any better and exceeded our expectations. We will absolutely go back just to relax for a few days.

Within two hours of arriving, we fell in love with the place so much we cancelled our next hotel and added a night at the Grand Hacienda! The property is on top of a mesa by itself and looks out for miles around at the lake, red rock cliffs and stunning mountains all around. Carolyn and Tom were amazing hosts, and take care to make sure everyone's stay is nothing less than perfect. The three course breakfasts they serve are out of this world and we looked forward to them each day. We feel like we gained friends in Carolyn and Tom and have recommended it to our friends and family. We can't wait to go back!

There were a few hotels listed on yelp, but this was the only one with a review. Once again yelp didn't let me down. Keeping in mind that this is a small inn in Chama NM, and not a big city, we got a kick out of some of the quirks. When I first tried booking the room, I got an answering machine because the keeper (Terrie) was picking her son up from school. However, I got a call back a little later and we reserved a room. We said we would be rolling in a little late and she assured us that she'd leave the back porch light on for us and the room would be waiting. The room we stayed in was in the main house and was wonderful. It was as clean and spacious as you would expect from a B&B. Along with the comfy beds, it had a small kitchen/sink area and some other furniture to lounge around on. It was warm and cozy, felt like staying at a relative's house. The only downside was there was only a very limited continental breakfast. For us this wasn't a big deal as we were in a bit of a hurry to hit the road. But don't plan on a big breakfast here. We would definitely stay here again if we were passing through.

Took full advantage of the happy hour (two hours actually) which included some amazing appetizers and open bar. Our first night we decided to take advantage of the in house dinner menu and it was terrific as well. Tried the filet with mushroom risotto and also the beef stroganoff with rice. We both shared and enjoyed immensely. Dessert was vanilla ice cream with an amaretto/maple sauce. I would drink that with a straw by the way. I was even given seconds on dessert, thanks Jim. We had the loft room in the main house which has its own balcony, fireplace, bathroom, AC unit, sitting area, etc, etc, etc. They think of all the touches including drinking water, smart TV, a fridge, and even simple things like eyeglass cleaning wipes in the room. Very comfortable room, king bed, and overall feel. I should probably mention that each morning we had a custom gourmet type breakfast. Odilia likes to cook and she is good at it. Our last morning we even took our breakfast out on the main deck and enjoyed the breathtaking views. We went hiking that morning and they even let us check out a little late so we could shower up before moving on to our next city. Speaking of which, we were also able to request a to go lunch for our hiking days. Food was great and plentiful. Became lunch and snacks for the day. Big thanks to Jim and Odilia. I wish I could give this place a zero. I made a reservation for one night and was on my way there…read morewhen I was in a car accident. A college kid rear-ended me and my car was not even drivable. Needless to say I was very upset. I called to cancel the reservation and the woman with whom I spoke (who said she was the owner) refused to refund my payment. The only thing she would do is reschedule the date of the room but I have no plans to be back in that area in the future. I was astounded that she was so crass and uncaring. There is no way that I can recommend this place.
