I searched high and low for different vendors that fit the fusion that we wanted, but couldn't find anything that fit just right (or that didn't break the bank). Then I somehow stumbled across Rebel Catering on Google. They had a wide variety of packages for food varying from Asian, to bbq, to Mexican. They didn't have a ton of reviews, and it seemed like they mostly did corporate events, but I gave them a call. I'll be honest, I was a bit apprehensive of how incredibly chill Rahul is at first (because I was already stressed out), but when I told him about our vision, he immediately checked with his chefs and created an incredible menu for us. My mom and mother in law's primary request was copycats of the other restaurant's corn fritters, and he even delivered on that. I'll attach a picture of the menu, but our minds were blown at the quality and freshness of the food. Buffet style brisket is HARD and he and his team crushed it. I even had friends with allergies and he accommodated them without question. The most popular part of the night though was the shaved ice. Part of Rebel Catering is their shaved ice package with alcoholic shaved ice (TABC bartender included). They had custom flavors to match our Asian fusion theme, and even brought their truck in to serve our guests! They also created a custom flavor named after our cat and created a sign with a cute cartoon of him. They also had tons of other drinks including sodas, jelly drinks, boba drinks, and energy drinks. We called up the owner, Kelly, and arranged a meeting to sample, etc. After the short drive to Wimberley, we found the truck and had a seat. Kelly was super nice and brought a huge tray of samples. Everything was delicious, which only made the decision of what meats we wanted harder. We decided on brisket and turkey. The turkey might be the best bbq turkey I've ever had. For sides, our favorite was the cream corn, but they were all very tasty. The price per person was much more reasonable than anything else we'd encountered, so we were sold. I submitted a request on Monday, Jon told me that they were booked but could arrange a drop off and asked for a good time to speak on the phone. We spoke on Tuesday, and although he could not offer what he originally mentioned (appetizers, buffet etc), I was thankful and more than happy to accept the grazing table option. He stated that he would send me an estimate Wednesday. I received an estimate on Wednesday at 10:20 pm, which I accepted. This morning (Thursday), Jon replied that he would confirm everything with his chef and send me an invoice later. At 8:20 pm this evening, I got an email saying that Food Addiction would not be able to accommodate my event. I completely understand the last minute nature of my request but this company should've either turned me down immediately, or at least communicated this earlier in the day (phone call would've been nice). All of the other businesses Jon suggested were already closed for the day. In our communications, Jon tells me that I'm the very first person that their company has cancelled on. With only 3 reviews, I find that very hard to believe. I recommend considering an established local company with better business practices and communication for your event and avoiding Food Addiction at all costs.

Cardinal rule #1 when you're in the catering business is not to run out of food and that is what…read morehappened at our wedding in April 2016. We had gone back and forth with Fritz about changing our vegetable to asparagus which they informed us would be an up-charge. No problem, we signed up. The day of the wedding, they only had enough asparagus for about half of our guests so they were left with no green/color on their plate. Fritz offered to pay us back for the 75 guests that did not get asparagus, but in my opinion they should pay us back for the whole up-charge fee. Running out of food should never happen. Also, we paid to have them take care of the bar at our wedding. At one point, I walked over to discover they had run out of ice and someone was having to go get more. Again...shouldn't happen. The pros are that the staff that was at the wedding were very nice, but I would probably go with another company if I had to do it all again. The food is such an important part of the wedding and there's no reason to be running out of anything.
