This is right by the lake also so we went by there both days that we stayed and it was really enjoyable. I wish that they had pull through RV sites but the price wasn't too bad. The people working at the park or super friendly even though we checked in really late and helped us back into the spot since that was the first time that my husband was parking this RV. All of our neighbors are really friendly and it is also really dog friendly. All in all we would go back.

The ceremony was on a grassy area with a beautiful alter facade. The reception area was truly the showstopper. The view was beautiful all around. There were archways everywhere you looked with the most scenic Hill Country views you could ask for. The dance floor protruded out one of the archways so that you could dance under the stars. Truly breathtaking. My only complaint was the terrain. The area where we had cocktail hour, as well as the walk to the ceremony, was very jagged and rocky. You would not believe the staircase down to the grass. There were rough steps and wobbly branches as handrails. The reception had flat cement floors, but again, the outside bar area was very hazardous in heels. The bride and bridal party had cowboy boots on, so this was mainly the brides fault for not including this bit of information about the difficult terrain in the invitation. Apparently many guests were aware of this, but as a plus 1, how was I to know? Something should have been mentioned in the invitation, or on the bride and groom's website.

To say they go above and beyond is an understatement! I think Leslie even managed to turn down the June in Texas heat for the rehearsal dinner and wedding reception! My kids loved playing on the grounds, in the pool, and in the very kid/family friendly game room within the hacienda. This year's water level is historically low (since the 1960s), so direct swimming access to the water is nearly impossible. Boat ramp closed. However, the view is still spectacular. We also appreciate the grill spots -- we saw previous complaints about the grills -- honestly, we don't quite understand why they are being so picky with the public grill spots lol... I can tell they have tried their best to manage/clean. A/C works well, especially at night! Not much noise created. All the fire pits were upgraded and well-maintained. Some things to be careful with: 1/ Some weeds in the grass can be sticky and painful to pick off. Be careful walking in grass near the cabins (wear water shoes). 2/ Some dogs may be reactive to people/other dogs (barking). But everyone was very respectful. 3/ Didn't try the swimming pool; it looks a little muddy. 4/ Coffee station not working well. We noticed from others' reviews and brought our own coffee boiling pot with pour makers. They also didn't provide milk/coffee mate. 5/ Pillows are not quite comfortable.

And just like last time, it was a great stay. I'm not sure if I noticed their amenities last time or if they added on facilities in the last decade, but a few things to know: o There is a giant, we're talking massive swimming pool that's 3"5 deep all the way around. As a shawty, I appreciate that. There's plenty of seating, pergolas for much-needed shade. No restrooms at the pool. o Volleyball court o A main lodge area/event space, perfect for family reunions and such. o There's a "motel" also onsite. o It's dog-friendly, with a max of two dogs per cabin and a $25 deposit per pet per night. o Amazing sunsets, direct lake access for swimming or boating, grilling areas, and "The Point" which is a great spot for a nightcap and handing with friends/family. As for the cabins, once again our group reserved five of their six cabins that each come equipped with two decks overlooking Canyon Lake, a hot tub, multiple bedrooms, living spaces, fireplaces, full kitchens.... Note that some cabins may have a studio-style room with no wall. Our AC was kickin' and there was plenty of hot and cold water. Only gripe is the living room seating in our cabin, Cabin F. The chairs stunk like BO. My guess is that guest sit on them with wet river clothes... hope they steam them.

We stayed there from Thursday April 23rd - Sunday April 26th 2026. It was like living in an Italian Villa and you would be hard pressed to find a more gracious host and chef than Justin anywhere ! He's been doing this for over twenty years ! We arrived at the Lakehouse around 3:00 pm and were immediately welcomed by Justin who carried our bags to our upstairs Medici Room and gave us a tour of the house. Justin also provided us with excellent tips on things to see and do in the area, as well as suggestions for restaurants for lunches and dinners. Thursday evening, we ate dinner on the outside patio of Gennaro's Trattoria where we enjoyed their Authentic Italian Kitchen. Friday morning, we enjoyed a delicious omelet breakfast in the Lakehouse breakfast room overlooking Canyon Lake and great conversation with other guests. Following breakfast, we took a leisurely drive down River Road to the quaint town of Gruene (that's pronounced "Green"). There, we had lunch at the Gruene River Grill, followed by a relaxing stroll through the many antique and boutique shops in Gruene, and a visit to Gruene Hall, Texas' Oldest Dance Hall. We then returned to Canyon Lake and enjoyed some merlot wine and cheese and crackers (which we had brought with us) on the Lakehouse's covered outdoor patio overlooking Canyon Lake. We had dinner at Canyon Lake's Wildflour Artisan Bakery & Grill which offers a full menu. On Saturday morning, we enjoyed a delicious Belgian waffle breakfast in the Lakehouse breakfast room. Following breakfast, we drove to the town of Blanco and visited Arnosky's Flower Farm. After walking around the beautiful flower fields, we bought some beverages and snacks inside Arnosky's barn and sat in the chairs on the barn's covered back porch patio overlooking the flower fields, humming bee feeders, and bird feeders. You could sit there a long time as the scene is ever changing. From Arnosky's, we drove to Tillman's Cabin Resort in Blanco and ate lunch at the Rio Blanco Café overlooking the Blanco river. After lunch, we drove to the original 1885 Blanco Court House in downtown Blanco where we took a leisurely self-guided tour of the courthouse. We also visited Blanco's many antique and boutique shops. Saturday evening, we attended the 4 pm mass at Canyon Lake's St. Thomas The Apostle Church. At the end of mass, we witnessed one of their congregants step up to the lectern with the pastor's approval, talk about what the bible says about a wife, ask the lady in the front row next to us to step forward, and then bent down on one knee and asked her to marry him in front of the entire church congregation, and she said "YES" and they kissed. What a beautiful proposal ! Following mass, we had dinner on the outside patio of Canyon Lake's Elio's Osteria e Pizzeria. On the evening drive back to the Lakehouse, we saw lots of white tail deer in the neighborhood. On Sunday morning, we enjoyed a delicious scone and quiche breakfast in the Lakehouse breakfast room. We again enjoyed conversing with the other guests as we had every day, and then we packed and headed home. Sorry for the length of this review but my wife and I thought readers might enjoy hearing about what one can do from The Lakehouse Bed and Breakfast at Canyon Lake. The Lakehouse is centrally located in the Texas Hill Country and opens this area up to you like a box of chocolates!

The private on-property pool was the perfect place to spend a sunny afternoon. I agree with all the previous visitors who raved about Justin's fantastic breakfasts! Day 1 included orange scones and a delicious zucchini fritatta and roasted potatoes - incredible. Day 2, by special request, included strawberries Romanov and eggs benedict with sausage.
