View is close to the main area of Temple campus. For safety it's a great location. Downside is the cost. It's expensive $900+ PER STUDENT, (shared 2br with 4 people is the least expensive) but most utilities and laundry are included. (2022-23). Solo bedrooms can cost over $1200+ per moth PER STUDENT. Security is often not attentive, which is a negative. It's also difficult to reach a real person when there is a need to speak to someone directly. The furniture at move in was ripped and disgusting. I give it a 3 due to its location. read more

In the span of one semester this year: Majority of washing machines and dryers have either been non functional or flooded, half of the elevators were down, packages take multiple days-weeks, the lobby quite literally flooded, heating and air conditioning frequently do not work, they said they "couldn't" reach out to USPS to come pick up mail from the outgoing mail slot after mail had been sitting there for 2+ weeks, they'll post about the free coffee machine on Instagram when it does not even work, they made it so View residence could not enter through the parking lot but Vantage residents can, security is absolutely useless an just lets anybody in, and many, many more. If you are looking for a safe, affordable, and reliable place to live, DO. NOT. LIVE. HERE. Please take this as a warning and look to live anywhere else. They will inevitably respond to this review asking what they can do to fix these issues, but will do absolutely nothing. read more

The worst bang-for-your buck in the city. Elevators, washing machines, and dryers are constantly broken and take days to get fixed. Maintenance staff is kind and friendly but take days to get to the most basic of fixes. Office staff loses and misplaces mail often. The front desk security guards are often asleep at night and let anyone walk by. All this for 850 a month. A complete joke of a complex, go check out University Village or any others nearby. I lived here for the school year 2021-2022 and it was the worst housing experience I had during my 4 years at Temple. When I moved in the living room couch was scratched up and damaged and I was informed by an email within the first month of living there that it would be replaced. It was never replaced during the year I lived there. For several months I was charged a fee for not having renter's insurance which was outlined in their lease but I did have insurance which they didn't accept because they didn't believe my proof of insurance. I had to contact them month after month before finally having my insurance agency call on my behalf to explain that my current proof of insurance did in fact prove that I had insurance. After my roommate and I moved out they tried charging us for damages to furniture which we did not cause. We submitted a formal dispute as per their policies and we were told our dispute would be reviewed within the next month. They didn't get back to us again for 6 months when we received a notification of an outstanding balance with no mention of our dispute. My roommate and I immediately spoke to the staff about this and they made us believe the issue had been dropped. We received a notice in October 2024 that we had an outstanding balance after 18 months of no contact. No self-respecting student should ever choose to suffer the indignity of living at the View at Montgomery. It is wildly overpriced for the small rooms they have available and they take advantage of the fact that many of their tenants are inexperienced renters so that they can claim damages. Plenty of options near Temple's campus are better and more affordable than this sorry excuse for housing. read more

If you are choosing this place for safety DO NOT. The security desk people are always on their phones and don't care who comes and goes. There are people who have just walked through before and it's been a real issue. Also someone was shot just outside the apartment doors, so safety is definitely not a perk here. Save your money as this place is overpriced and not anymore safe than a house deeper north. I would say the place is mid at best. Maintenance is fine and usually quick. The leasing and subleasing is standard. Location is kinda nice and very quick to walk to class. My sink and shower got clogged often but you just need to submit a maintenance request, so it's kind of gross but it will get fixed. Also get a water filter!! The water that comes out of the tap is disgusting and opaque if not sometimes brown. The elevators never work either, there's always one broken and a line to get on them. read more

Cant stress enough how terrible this place is. It appears so nice, while its really falling apart inside and has terrible management. i lived there the fall 2019-summer 2020. 1) they will squeeze you of every last penny possible. A month after moving out I got a charge of 238$ for my bedroom door to be replaced? Didn't say why, just to pay it in 30 days. Along with that I got charged for multiple other things in the apartment that needed "replacing", when its really because this place is so cheap inside. The 50$ lockout fees are insane. I waited for 3 hours one night to be let back into my apartment because the person on duty with access to the keys was asleep and not answering their phone apparently. Also, after moving out I was charged for electric...which your not supposed to so lol. I also do not know a single person who lived there the years before me and the year with me that actually got their deposit back, they always will keep it and make up things that it goes towards fixing. 2) the elevators were broken almost everyday. One of the elevators was broken for months on end and literally till the day I moved out it never was fixed. You HAVE to leave 5 mins earlier for class because these elevators will take you so long you'll be late for class. The amount of times I had to give up waiting and take the stairs was ridiculous. 3) the a/c never works and does its own thing. my roommates and I put in a request at least 10 times while living there and it just never got fixed. including multiple other things in the apartment will break constantly. 4) the management really does not care about you and only wants your money. don't bother emailing the manager Connor, because his response will be rude and not helpful at all. 5) the water was freezing cold a lot and made it impossible to shower some days, I literally had to go over to my friends places just to shower on multiple occasions. Not to mention the amount of times that brown dirty water would come out of the tap, you better have a water filter if you plan on living here. Overall, I could not get out of there fast enough, I really had the worst experience ever. My son leased an apartment at The View. This past summer his apartment was burglarized when he was not home and he sustained a significant loss. We were later told by The View that there was a security breach, and the security guard from their security company (Allied) was terminated. We've since been contacting The View to obtain information on their liability insurance provider, but they have not responded to several emails and phone calls over several months. We are totally disappointed with their lack of concern and responsiveness, not to mention their poor security measures. read more

1. First, They do nothing to help current residents at all, in fact, they actively do the opposite. I walked down to the lobby to meet someone and give a tour of my place and the office was trying to set her up with a completely new lease. Despite knowing a lot of us were trying to get out, they do nothing at all to help you and put themselves first every step of the way. 2. They charge you a $917 relet FEE just to break a lease for "cleaning services". When I moved into my apartment on a completely new lease there was cat vomit and broken furniture from a previous tenant. There were hairballs, hair ties, old used products in the vanity drawers and the bathroom was disgusting. Obviously not even 1% of that person's security deposit or relet fee went to cleaning the apartment. 3.To parents who think this is a safe place: The office told me to post on CRAIG'S list and technically any person of the same gender can move in with you. I could have had a 40 year old take my spot IF I wanted to and my roommates wouldn't have to sign or agree to something like that. You could be living with 3 other twenty year olds one minute and then find yourself living with a 40 year old woman the next minute. I literally had a 40 year old woman contact me and was serious about moving in so don't doubt the possibilities. 4. During the COVID 19 Pandemic they still never helped anyone get out and locked us all in. This place makes a MINIMUM of 1 milion dollars every month. (14 floors x 20 rooms per floor x 4 people in each room x $795 x 12 months). That's NOT even counting my floor plan which was 1,075 for each person and there were 4 people in my suite. -They shut down the gym, sky lounge, study lounges and office yet never gave us a discount, DESPITE SELLING us this PROMISE to all of these free amenitites. I understand COVID is happening, what I don't understand is why they couldn't at least take some money off of our rent when they are literally making a million dollars off of empty apartment units. -They did not even lower the relet fee, a literal fee that doesn't even go towards the new tenant taking over your apartment during Covid. -They made no effort to help find or encourage new tenants to take over apartments of current tenants who wanted to get out At the end of all of this, I fully expect a snarky empty comment saying to refer back to the lease. And with that said, it's worth considering whether you should move here and sink your money into a glorified storage unit or move into an equally safe apartment complex like UV or Kardon or even Temple housing incase Temple closes for Fall Semester. Also they screwed over the Vantage tenants too(Their sister apartment complex). If you signed before May 15th , their promo to get out of their lease isn't valid. Also, what is the point of paying $1k every month for a place to live if most things on Temple campus aren't even available??? we might have a hybrid of online and in person classes. You might as well just live at a cheaper apartment since you are getting less than half of the Temple/ College Experience anyway. read more

I cannot stress this enough- do not live at the view. It is a glorified dorm where you're paying a lot more in rent and I would say living in the view made me VERY nostalgic for dorm living. The elevators never work. I mean NEVER. I can't remember a time when all four elevators have been working. Don't believe me? Come in any afternoon and check out the line to try to get on the elevator. They said my apartment would get a new couch by October, and it's March and the same ripped up couch is still sitting in our apartment. Where to start?? Initially I thought this place was really great. My daughter sublet in the Summer of 2018. I had high hopes, but unfortunately it was horrible. Her roommate was a complete slob. On her move in day- the apartment was disgusting. The kitchen was so gross. It was obvious that the girls living there were complete pigs.. Thankfully, they were in the process of moving back to Asia when she moved in, but I still had to scrub the kitchen and clean up their mess. They also charged her for ripped cushions and supposed broken window blinds and kept some of the security deposit. She sublet for 3 months and I can assure you, she didn't rip the cushions or break their cheap blinds!! They will find a way to keep your security deposit so just be aware. We had already signed up to lease for the next school year not knowing what we were in for. In August of 2018, she moved into a another unit and was matched with three other roommates for the 2018-2019 school year. The View doesn't do a very good job at their roommate matching. These girls don't even talk to each other. It's crazy! The one girl's boyfriend spends the night every single night, annoying!!! He might as well move in at this point. Do yourself a favor and lease somewhere else. She hates living there and cannot wait for her lease to be over!! Thankfully next year she is living off campus. I've been living at the view in a 2 bedroom shared apartment and I absolutely love it. Probably the most amazing thing is the location. It's located literally right in the center of campus and the walk to all my classes are less than 7 minutes. The staff is extremely friendly and makes every process super easy. There's printers and computers always available to use and study rooms as well. I've signed my lease for next year as well because after looking at all the options, it's the best one both price wise and convenience. Live here you won't regret it!!!! read more

I went into the office a couple of weeks ago to get some information about the apartments. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by everyone in the office. The staff was so friendly and welcoming! It was so refreshing! When the staff couldn't answer one of my questions, one of the managers, Tom, stepped in. He sat with me an went over every detail! I couldn't have asked for a more attentive and patient staff. Overall I had a great experience and I'm so excited for the opening of this building. The building is beautiful and has great amenities, but most important for us, is that we feel like he is safe. The staff is also very nice and accommodating. elevators never work. they don't bring anyone to fix them. showers and sinks leak. my window isn't properly insulated i've been asking them two fix it for two months. they keep deleting my request to fix it. it's been broken for two months in the middle of the winter it's 20 degrees colder because of that in my bed room. they'll loose ur packages and the alarms are alway triggered in the middle of the night for no reason. security guards are barely security. basically just a mess. don't live here. especially not worth it considering rent. read more

Do not live here! I promise you will be so disappointed with what you're paying for. The management , security, and maintenance are very disorganized, misinformed, and not helpful. I've been living at the view since August of 2020 and I've had only bad experiences. Most recently, my key had been randomly cancelled! I could not get into my own apartment. They didn't even realize the root of issue--they kept telling that the door lock was dead when in reality they cancelled my key programming. They first sent a leasing associate to use a a jumper cable to recharge the battery of the door since they assumed that was the issue. Even the employee said that "i don't know why the f*** I'm here this is maintenances' job". On Wednesday at 5:30pm there were no maintenance employees in office or on call. They told me it would be 40 minutes until maintenance could come. I stood outside of my apartment for 2 hours with groceries until they finally figured out the real issue and reprogrammed my key. It is not okay to be randomly locked out of your own apartment and go through such trouble to get the situation resolved. Nobody is helpful or understanding. I do appreciate Jenna who did solve the issue for me. However the company as a whole is very poorly run , I do NOT recommend living here if you are a student like me. I have been in this holding for almost a year and I have had issues after issues -- I'm not going to sit here listing all the issues I had but I wanted to explain the one that really broke my patience. read more

I never thought I would be so unhappy living in a brand new apartment complex. Let's start with the actual building its self (Lobby, Lounges and hallways). The decor and color scheme is horrendous. It looks as if a a toddler designed it picking their random favorite colors, the bright red, god awful orange and stomach vile green clash tremendously. The furniture in the lobby and apartments look and feel cheap. The couches and beds are stiff and squeak when you sit on them. The ceilings are not finished, I'm guessing they tried to create an "urban" feel, but in reality it looks like the ceiling in a prison. The amenities they offer are a good idea but they were not correctly created. The gym is very small, only about 8-10 people can fit in there at a time. The stand up tanning machines are crammed in a corner. Since there is only two tanning machines the wait is very long. Upstairs in the lounge there are computers and a printer. The computers are dirty, keyboards are never cleaned and screens are grimy .The printer is constantly jammed, I have to fix it myself because the staff doesn't know how. You have to bring your own paper too. I mean paper is cheap I can afford it, but for the price I pay it should be available. I pay $875 a month to live in a 4 person apartment. That means a total of $3500 a month for all of us to live in a 2 bathroom 4 bedroom with 1105 sq ft total not even facing the city. Yes, it is nice that there is a refrigerator and dishwasher, but $3500 is extremely over priced for a college students to be paying for such a small space. Onto the staff. The office staff is incompetent and useless. All questions I have must be asked to the manager because the employees are not properly trained. Every time I go into that office, the employees are not doing their job because they have friends hanging around. The mail system is a disaster. Every single package I've have delivered is late by 4-5 days. I end up calling the mail carrier I used and they tell me it's delivered. The one girl at the mail window that should be labeling and sorting packages tells me it's not there with a very rude attitude. I see her constantly playing games on her laptop or texting instead of doing her job, sorting and labeling the packages. For security in the building cameras are located all throughout the lobby, gym, elevators and lounge on the top floor. The hallways on each floor are not monitored whatsoever. There have been many theft incidents but no action was taken for them. Security guards are very nice, but don't check every single ID of people walking in. There should be no animals in the building according to the contract, but I see many dogs and even cats coming in and out of the building. It says in the contract that no pets are allowed unless they are for medical reasons.The people I see with the pets seem to have no disabilities what so ever. I've heard through other residents that many of these people fake paperwork for the pets. Overall, I'm disappointed with the entire building and management. This place was advertised as a outstanding complex, but it did not stand up to that at all. I would never recommend living here to anyone. read more

My time at the View has been great so far - it's perfectly placed so that I'm off campus yet still a short distance from everything I need. The staff is very helpful and friendly, although maintenance can be a little slow at fulfilling requests sometimes (which I can understand with the volume of students in the building). If you're someone who wants complete silence in your apartment at all times be aware that the walls are a bit thin; I can hear my neighbors talking and listening to music at certain times, but it doesn't bother me. The overall quality of this place is astounding for being a college apartment building (I know many people who pay the same amount for rent as I do living in much worse conditions), and I'm glad I ended up staying here this past year. I've renewed my lease as well, and I'm excited to continue my time here. read more

Not exactly what I was expecting. Took the tour four times before moving in here, I feel a little bit misled but it's not too bad. The kitchen is nice. The spacial planning inside the apartment is awful - my bathroom is enormous for no reason, it's large enough to fit a tub but there's just a shower stall, meanwhile my bedroom is tiny compared to everyone else's. Security is really annoying since it's impossible to get into the main parts of the building without a key anyway. Overall okay. read more

Super easy and convenient. My parents love it because it is right across the street from campus police and the view has 24 hour front desk security guards. Cons: the room are small, one of the elevators has been broken since I moved-in in August, the fire alarms are sensitive, and the hot water broken for almost a week during mid-terms last semester. Pros: gym down stairs, very convenient, utilities are included and the cap is super high (never have come close to it), smart tv already installed. Overall I would recommend the View it is very convenient and safe compared to other off campus apartments. However, if you are looking for a plethora of space in the bedrooms this is not the place for you. read more

I lived here and would not recommend it. The apartments are nice, the location is great, and the gym being in the building is awesome, but that is where the positives stop. Cons: 1. The internet connection was awful, it is only better now because we complained so much and got our own router installed in our apartment. As a college student that has online homework due regularly, it was incredibly unreliable and problematic. 2. Signing in. The apartment building is like a dorm, you need to sign guests in and out as well as yourself, which was not advertised when viewing the apartment. It was implemented after most of the building's leases had been signed. 3. Smoke alarms. For a 2 year old building the emergency alarms are already having issues. On more than one occasion they have gone off at 6:30am and it takes the staff nearly 40 minutes to turn them off. The placement of the smoke alarms in individual apartments is poor as well. They are located a few feet from the oven, so whenever the oven is opened and there is a burst of heat they start blaring. 4. No hot water. There has been no hot water for two days and the office hasn't reached out to any of the residents with an email or any form of communication to explain what is going on or what is being done to get the issue fixed. The lack of communication holds true for the issue with the alarms and most other things. Most of the time you find out from and another resident who found out from someone else. 5. The price. Paying $900 a month is high, but may have bee worth it for a good location and good service, but this building just doesn't live up to the price they ask. read more
