Been living here for a few months, so I'll start from the beginning. I made the initial call to make an appointment with the office and they were extremely flexible, given it was within their hours. I get there, the woman shows me the place, we tour it, I was impressed (It was a model unit, though, so go figure). It was toward the end of the work day so she didn't say much of anything during the tour, giving any information, or anything like that. However, she did have an answer to every question I asked. We like it. We move in. On move in day, I walk into the unit and it wasn't cleaned, and there was a few very minor things wrong. We made a complaint, and continued moving in. The office was always prompt in communication, always answered the phone, and remembered people by name - so that is nice. The cleaning was as simple as a dirty floor and other spot cleaning, so I didn't think much of it and did it myself. They were nice enough to give me a few dollars on my rent back, so no hard feelings. Since moving in, the walls are quite thin, as well as the floors. I hear foot steps constantly and apparently my neighbors can hear my music from time to time. Parking is tough if you want to have people over, but there are many ways around it. I chose to live in an urban area so I understand that parking will be sparse, and so do my guests. Not living a pipe dream over here. So, there are a few hiccups, but overall I am quite happy. The apartments are open and spacious. The appliances are new. The decor is modern. Maintenance requests are completed within 48 hours, at most. The office always picks up and is quite friendly and helpful. The location is fantastic for someone who frequents Grandview, DT, short north, German village, etc. Access to 315 is very easy so getting to work is no problem. Renter beware. The property manager we met was extraordinarily condescending and clearly more interested in her breakfast sandwich than talking to us. All in all, this is a lovely apartment complex, but admittedly, not without its problems. My initial impression was good, though the sales rep came off somewhat overzealous. (That is understandable, but somewhere along, there was a miscommunication, and the address number was mixed up as if via dyslexia ("1050 W. 5th" as opposed to 1005), causing no end of initial inconvenience... OOPS!) Anyhow, once settled in, I found my apartment to be acceptable. Clean, comfortable, cozy, with some nice amenities. I am unable to comment on the exercise facilities, as I never used them during my brief stay, but the courtyard pool facilities were decent. It is unfortunate that for a significant portion of the duration of my stay, the pool was closed for maintenance/construction. My greatest remaining qualm is that some of the construction within the apartment units is a bit sloppy. I suppose this is an issue common to the trendy new luxury apartments. Construction is often rushed and/or drastic cost-cutting measures are taken. My specific issues were with the hardwood flooring, the trim, and poorly assembled sliding glass shower doors. At least the apartment was responsive in fixing that latter issue. While there are plenty of minor issues to complain about, on balance, my stay (August 2020 - March 2022) was a pleasant one. Location is their greatest strength, being right in the middle of everything on Fifth Avenue. The easily affordable rent for relatively luxurious accommodations was also a virtue, though it helps that Columbus, OH enjoys such a low cost of living. read more

This is a wonderful property. There are technically two sides to it one or your standard apartments the other ones the big building that has more of a city feel. The View On Fifth lives up to its name the matter where you live you have a good view of something some units have views of downtown skyline others have a few of the Ohio State football stadium there's even one where you can see most of the seats in the stadium. This property also has several restaurants built underneath it as well as beauty shops and more.Located in between the two properties is a decent size dog park with dog wash station I'm not kidding this is like a car wash with the dogs. There is also a parking garage that is very reasonably priced however you can get your ticket validated at the store or shop you were going to which makes it free within a certain amount of time read more

This place is only getting worse. I second everything everyone says about the walls being thin. My upstairs neighbors footsteps are heard throughout the day and night. I have no idea how they can charge so much for such poorly constructed apartments. The paint is literally falling off of my walls. The ceiling is not straight. The wood floors are already coming up. There was black and brown mold in my closet. That was/is the biggest hassle of my life. They still will not give me proper repayment. DO NOT GET TRICKED INTO LIVING HERE! read more

Was sold on this as a building for young professionals...it is anything but that. Walls are thin and neighbors are constantly having parties with thumping bass and yelling. There was a security guard that used to deal with these types of things, but per the property manager "due to some contractual items," that guard no longer exists. This noise presents a problem because my fiancee is a resident physician and has to get to sleep early to be at the hospital at some insanely early hour. It seems that since the guard left, things have gone downhill quickly. The stairwells are full of empty beer cans and dog feces...and I can tell you that the same cans and dog crap have been there for weeks. Management was responsive initially to requests with our unit, likely due to the hurried construction, but the responsiveness has cooled significantly. Parking is priced outrageously at $100 per month PER CAR. The only reason for this is for the property owner to line his/her pockets. You are forced into using Time Warner for your cable/internet and NEP for water/sewer/electric. The gym and common areas are very nice, don't get me wrong....but the pool does get packed on nice days with bros drinking poolside. The washer/dryers in the unit are also full size and very nice. If you are looking for a more young professional environment, you could do a lot better for your money. If you are looking to continue your college years and don't mind the situation outlined above because of the location, this is the place for you. read more

DO NOT LIVE HERE. The worst place to live in Columbus!! Walls are so thin you can hear your neighbors conversation. Several of the apartments are rented out as Airbnb's. The people who rent these apartments throw parties constantly during their stay. I have called the Columbus non emergency number several times now because the noise has been so bad during the week. Even better, these apartments are being rented out for $69 a night. Doesn't really seem right when my roommate and I are paying $1600+ to live here.... Management has done nothing about this issue. They claimed they had "no idea" these apartments were on Airbnb. I feel like I'm living on fraternity row.... read more

Five stars to management. Minus one star for issues regarding the construction of the property. (Note: I lived at the Holly Avenue Suites part of the View on Fifth, as the primary apartment building isn't open yet). See my review for Hometeam Properties (actually listed as Home Team Properties) for my comments on the management company. My "minus-one" complaint regarding the construction of the buildings is the existence of small, cost-saving construction choice made by the builders such as the usage of hollow, uninsulated outside doors in a city that can reach strong winds with negative temperatures. Hometeam Properties' handyman, Chris, did what he could to add insulation to the doors, but I imagine it will continue to be an issue as the doors themselves allow heat to pass through. One small issue of annoyance is the lack of sufficient parking. Hopefully the main View on Fifth apartment building will have a parking garage. However, it would still be a hike from the Holly Avenue Suites. Perhaps the dilapidated building to the east could house a parking lot. read more

Fantastic place to live with great location, staff and amenities! I've been at the view for over 4 years and love it!

There is no reason why you should pay for parking. The gate breaks down monthly. And when you do pay for it and it breaks down for the month, they will not reimburse you. The property manager (Nada) is beyond rude. Take a look at the many apartments around the area before you decide to settle here, trust me. read more

Management making solid efforts to fix on site unforseen issues

I'm not going to spend time talking about positives (amenities) because if you have looked at their website you should know. If you are considering living here, these are things I think you should strongly consider, however: - They tried to raise our rent 10.7% after 1 year with no valid justification. Just think about that for a second. Our friends who live here got the same increase as well. - $100 parking garage is just insanity in this area. There is free parking on all of Holly, Norton, 6th, Gerrard, and Hess. Don't let them try and fool you into buying parking, it is a complete scam. - If you get a unit with a spiral staircase.....good luck getting ANYTHING upstairs. Those units may have more square feet, but they will go unused because you will not want to go through the effort of renting a lift to get stuff up there. - We lived in a 3BR unit on the top floor and only 2 of our windows even opened a sliver; so prepare to pay a ton of money to AC your apartment. - Insulation in general is very bad. The windows are framed with uninsulated metal so we actually had frost buildup INSIDE our apartment this last winter. The maintenance people informed us that there are a ton of people having the same problem. No joke, we kept beers on the window ledge instead of putting them in the fridge. - The pool gets completely trashed every Saturday by the immature and spoiled residents and their tons of friends they sneak in. Please, please, please, look around at other apartments, especially 3BRs. You can find better apartments that have better locations and the exact same amenities for the same price or a lot cheaper. read more

Construction team cut corners on a lot of areas and were sloppy with their jobs (paint on carpet, dented floors, scratches on cabinets and counters). The apartment was also filthy when we moved in, covered in dust, dirt, and the bottoms of the bathtubs were both stained a dark brown. Make sure you get anything the management says in writing also so you can have proof of anything they say and try to go back on! read more

Wish I didn't have to write this, but there have been too many issues to ignore in the short period of time living here. Moved in June 2017 into a filthy apartment- took two days to scrub it clean. Multiple objects broken/wrong with the apartment. Clearly wrote it on the move in check list; still have had no resolution. Elevators (both) have been broken at least 7 times (separately). Gate is never working/down for parking garage so you're throwing $100 out the window- no enforcement whatsoever on who parks where- the "reserved for view on fifth" tow sign is not enforced, so feel free to park wherever. Clientele is way young and has no respect for neighbors or property, and management does nothing to fix this. Also, not truly a locked building. There was a homeless man riding the elevators and wandering around a few weeks ago. Definitely encourages a "safe" feeling. Wrote an email to the "new manager" regarding these (as well as many other issues) weeks ago and have yet to hear back- oh, and the issues from move in still have yet to be fixed. Like others have said, poor construction (like screws in all of the kitchen cabinets- yes, every. last. one.), very thin walls, very much like a frat house. I cannot wait to move out of here. I've had nothing but issues since moving in. To start, I spent months on a wait list for a 3rd story apartment, but was not contacted once, even though I was informed that several opened up in the time I was on the list but they were given away to people not on the list. I settled for a second story apartment (huge regret) and when I moved in I was not given a parking pass. Luckily the security guard was walking by the night I was moving into the place and asked me where it was, otherwise I had no idea I was supposed to have a pass and would have been towed. I was also given the wrong mailbox key, and when I went back to get the right one they asked that I bring it right back so they could make a copy of it and that they would inform me when I could pick it up again. I was never called or emailed so I contacted them a few times to get it back. My emails went by with no response so I finally sent a very angry email and only then did I get a response. Overall, it took several weeks to get my key back. The worst thing of all though is the noise here. You can hear people's speakers from several apartments away and people yelling out in the parking lot all night. These are also the most cheaply made apartments ever so the walls and ceiling are paper thin and you can hear everything. My upstairs neighbor is wildly inconsiderate and stomps with his heels all day and all night long. I've had to send SEVERAL complaints in since I've lived here and only about half are ever responded to. HUGE waste of money living here, would rather live anywhere else. read more
