I had a screen door leak for over a year, a water-fall esque ceiling leak for 3+ months when it would rain and a positive mold test. After being told there's "mildew all over the apartments and its nothing to worry about" by the head of maintenance I decided to get out of there. The building foundations are failing and there were once 45+ work orders after a rainstorm.

It's almost a rite of passage to live in Kearney to at one time live at grand view. It's not a…read morehorrible place, it's not a bad place. I would give it a decent review except the service is pretty horrible. My roommate and I needed a place pretty last minute and they we're able to find us an apartment that had just been moved out of. The place needed to be worked on a bit but was totally liveable for a couple of bachelors. They said that they would be in in the first few months to fix the problems (broken celing fan, no screen door, ect.) Anyways as the months went on they never came and fixed any of these things. I made multiple calls and even went to the office in person TWICE to ask that these things be taken cared of. They assured me that it would be ASAP. It's been almost a year and ......... still nothing. Mostly college kids live here and I understand the lack of service to them. They will be gone in a year or two anyway. You would think those of us that are potential long-term tenants would be treated a little better but with the lack of rental housing options I guess they feel that is not necessary.

Stoneridge recently replaced Jessica and are now being managed by one person who manages many of these properties in multiple locations and states. Not having that person in the office daily has greatly diminished the apartment feeling. Pool is beautiful and a wonderful place in the summer to hang out. The only thing that could be better about the apartments would be if they could change the carpets to something other than white. Many families live in the apartments and after living there for 4 years with a child, I hate our carpets. Thank goodness they are getting replaced for free this year!

Maintenance was the worst for me. My fridge went out on Christmas day and I called maintenance and was told if I had some help I could move one from another unit. When I first moved in I asked if the hallways were cleaned regularly. They always needed cleaning along with the laundry room. It was so gross at times I chose to take my laundry elsewhere. Was charged for a cleaning fee when I left even though it was cleaner than when I moved in. Also Management entered my apartment without my permission and that really turned me off.

Never, I repeat NEVER, rent from these crooks. In the past…read more3 months, my bedroom ceiling leaked into my dresser, soaking all my clothes; my roommates bedroom ceiling has leaked as well. Our bathroom sink has been clogged for a WEEK (had the same problem this time last year), we've gone through an entire container of draino and have snaked the drain repeatedly. My bedroom window has been SHATTERED (due to extreme wind) since Thanksgiving and no one has even tried to come fix it. My bedroom is literally 30 degrees right now and this company does not care at all. We've called repeatedly and have only been contacted once through a text about "temporary solutions" about a week after we initially called. They still haven't even implemented these fixes. Our building is severely outdated. The fire alarm in the stairwell is covered with cobwebs and isn't even functional. The basement apartment doesn't even have egress windows. This property is an atrocity and Century 21 Midlands' negligence for their tenants well being is criminal.

The receptionist called the person who we had the appointment with, Alexis, she finally showed up at their office. She did not introduce herself or apologize for being late. When we went to the apartment, it was filthy, smelling of smoke and animals. She stood by the entry door and we had to show ourselves around what I would call an unlivable dump, there was cat feces on the floor, mold in the sink. We did not stick around to see what else. The sidewalks were icey and snow covered. We stood in the cold while she described the details of the apartment in a monotone voice. She never smiled or was pleasant in any way. I have since compared experiences with friends and coworkers who have dealt with her; and they have all had similar or worse experience. I would never recommend her and her company to my worst enemy!

The unit was clean when we started, and remained so for the months we had to store. Because we were moving quickly and did not want to miss the check returning our unused time and deposit, they agreed to let us know when it was ready after we had surrendered our key. They did, and we are pleased. The security of the site is excellent, and really the only complaint is the mess of dead bugs in the halls from time to time due to their continually treatment to control them. Highly recommend these storage units. Management is on-site, so things are tended to as they need to be.

If you need a moving truck to unload in this facility good luck. Very hard to maneuver a truck around. The only way is putting it in reverse and hoping you got someone with you to guide you back. Very annoying, Lots of other places to rent at if your looking for a storage unit.
