We discovered The Villas on a whim in 2019 in a search for a new yearly spot for our group of 5. We've been coming back and renting the same townhouse ever since, now with a group of 6. If that doesn't speak to how much we love it here, I'm not sure what will. This is truly a hidden gem. Not only does it boast some of the most fantastic views, the accomodations are great, the amenities are awesome, and most importantly the hospitality is phenomenal. There are kayaks, row boats and paddle boards free to use. They have an in house marina where they rent out boats and jet skis at a cost. The beach area is BEAUTIFUL with a small sandy area for the kids. They have a gorgeous salt water pool at the top of the property. They have a small cafe off the office that makes THE best smoothies and coffee. Theres a cute little playground for kiddos. The property is always so clean and well kept. You honestly don't even need to leave the property to have fun. It's an all in one fun zone. There are some dated aspects you can see around the place, but what's fantastic is that every year we come back and new improvements and upgrades have been made. I love that this place is eternally in a state of growth and improvement, and you can really tell this is a labor of love for the Chiroboga family. You would be hard pressed to find a group of people more dedicated to the happiness of their clientele, more hospitable, more kind, more hardworking, sweeter and more passionate than the owners. My favorite perk is you CAN NOT beat the overwhelming sense of peace that shrouds this place. We have been making memories at the Villas for 4 years and we intend to continue doing so for years to come. We LOVE the Villas, it means so much to our little family. read more

Unsanitary, unsafe & horrible management Please don't believe the positive reviews! August 2024 I never leave reviews, but I really don't want anyone else to have the terrible experience my family and I had on vacation at this terrible resort. We had a total of 45 family members staying here. The rooms are old, dirty, and poorly maintained. Some of the rooms had no hot water and the owner Lenny, said that he tries to regulate the hot water. The lock on the entry door to our room was broken and difficult to lock. Lenny checked it out and said you have play with it, and it isn't going to be like your lock at home, you have to play with it. If you rent the big house on the premise, it smelled and had cobwebs on the chandeliers and in the kitchen. Also, keep in mind that the owner lives on the top floor. Its very odd! The two bedrooms both had holes in the walls from the door knobs. The bathroom is tiny with a very old tub and sink. The next day we rented boats. Lenny and another worker set the boats up. I expressed I didn't know how to swim and needed life jackets. They got the life jackets, but once we were already out on the boats, we realized there were none on it. I called the owner Lenny and he wasn't apologetic and kept saying he couldn't believe they weren't on the boat. I checked again with him on the phone and there were none on it. He then brought us the life jackets on the lake. Other family members were on another boat that broke down on the water. Lenny came and made light of it, said he knew there was an issue with the boat, and told them to wait on the boat while he went to talk to a mechanic at dock. Again he never apologized or offered any compensation for their lost boat time. Upon returning my boat, he didn't apologize and then proceeded to tell us that we damaged the propellor on the engine. There was no way we did and and he was so nasty about it. My husband and I started arguing with him. Immediately he started saying I'm going to call the cops. I expressed how with any complaint we made, he made light of it, and never tried to rectify the situation. We got nowhere with him and decided to leave. This place really makes itself look amazing. But is in reality the definition of lipstick on a pig. We had multiple 2 bedroom suites and they were all completely different. Our trip began with walking into our suite to find a tv circa 2000 which brought back memories of my childhood but the picture was awful. Then one of the fridges was not getting cold. We inquired 2 times and the owners told us "that's normal from when people leave the door open, give it some time to cool down" We then, on our own discovered a block of ice formed in the freezer. Using a hairdryer we melted the block which then fixed the fridge. The bathrooms were all at different stages of partial renovation, most got a tile tub surround and a (terrible) coat of paint leaving the mint bathtub and sinks behind. Holes in the walls where towel rods had been ripped out, unpainted areas showing from where mirrors were changed. the toilet seat was loose, they sent maintenance who spent about 20 min and did absolutely NOTHING to fix it. In the kitchen There were 2 poorly mounted cabinets on the wall with not nearly enough storage space. In the utensils drawer was an eclectic grouping of random utensils with no rhyme or reason along with used hairties and dirt (we opted not to use any of this). We felt that something wasn't quite right in the floor which is when we discovered a significant drop in the kitchen which literally ripped the lower cabinets off the wall and has the fridge leaning against the stove. The stove which out of 3 rooms only 1 had a working large burner. They did "fix" the other 2. The microwave in 1 unit had a glass plate from a different model which meant it didn't turn at all. One other microwave didn't work at all. The bedrooms were small and the furniture (different in every room) didn't fit very well. The beds consist of box springs with some sort of strange combination of foams stacked together inside a cotton mesh. They had no fitted sheets so it wouldn't stay on the mattress through the night. They mattresses weren't bad actually however the "headboards" that were crudely attached to the wall behind the beds weren't impressive. One of the bed frames actually BROKE dropping one of us to the floor. We discovered on our own that they hodge-podged together a universal frame with only 1 support in the middle on a queen (supposed to be 3). Their solution was to bring in 2 foldable cot frames and stuck them under the mattress/box spring making the bed so tall our 1 guest had to climb on the dresser to get on. We had ants in our unit the entire time and many of them managed to come home with us. There were bees around our front porch so bad to the point we had to buy bee spray to handle it. The gutters were clogged and dumped water all around the porches splashing dirt on our stuff. On to the joke of a parking lot. The driveway is so narrow our pickup trucks could barely stay on the terrible pavement. The assigned parking spots are nowhere near their units and pulling out of the spots is very difficult because of the awful layout/berm. Also the grills sit right at the curb line making any sort of overhang on the spots difficult. During our stay the maintenance guys were cutting holes in the driveway causing even more difficulties. There is NO ICE MACHINE on-site, we had to walk to the marina next door and buy for $3 a bag. The dock fees for our boats were $100 a day and they said they're increasing to $200 a day next year! They had rowboats and kayaks available no charge but the paddles were all in poor condition making use somewhat difficult. The beach is about 3-5' long and is basically a small hill, once you step off the concrete barrier. Lots of grass to sit on but more than half of the lounge chairs were missing straps or broken. We luckily we're almost the only people staying there for a week but they day before we left people started coming in and the "beach" became very quickly overcrowded. Don't let me forget that most of the maintenance staff and ALL of the "housekeeping" speak ZERO English and have to use translator apps and phone notes to communicate. While we were there we saw maintenance doing numerous grounds keeping upgrades such as flower beds, lights, and paint. All of this just before Labor Day (end of season) when all of these other issues exist. The owners were always very nice, The pool was very nice, the grounds are very well kept and hold up the appearance of a beautiful resort from the outside. On the inside, peeling paint, misaligned floors, sinking structure, cheaping out on upgrades and upkeep, terrible parking, tiny steep beach, overpriced docking, you make your own decision but we will NEVER be staying here again. read more

Never too crowded, has the most beautiful lake house and view with their own beach! They have an adorable cafe (Cafe Rose) with fresh coffee, green smoothies, bagels, scones and muffins made fresh each day. Silvia and Lenny are the sweetest owners and run the show here. Beautiful location! The rooms are amazing. Clean, spacious, not the regular furnishings, very comfortable. The owners take pride in their gorgeous property and go above and beyond to accommodate. We came one week of season so it is quiet and relaxing. Each room has a view of Lake George and you are only a short walk to the water. Boat rentals are reasonable and you can take care of those here as well. Lots of bbq grills and picnic tables to enjoy the out doors. There is a small play area for children as well as a sparkling clean outdoor heated pool. You can also play ping pong in an out door table. Over all. .. highly recommended. read more

We stayed in townhouse D I don't know where to begin about how run down this place was. There were no curtains on bathroom windows with a resort and road behind them. One bedroom had broken dresser there were no handles on one and drawers would not open on the other. The other bedroom had a ceiling fan that shook so bad I was afraid it would fall on us. The paint job was terrible looked like they couldn't reach the highest point so they just stopped painting. The outside of place has weeds growing everywhere and you have to park car on a hill in front of maintenance shed so when you get out of car it's treacherous to walk down because it's rocky and full of tree roots and dirt. The pool is advertised as heated it's not it's cold. The lounge chairs down by lake are broken with straps missing or backs can't stay up. They advertise a cafe on property to get breakfast there is none. Seems like they put the money into buying new boats and jet skis and let the property go. They gave us a half hour on jet ski to compensate for missing curtains and cold pool. The wifi went out the second night there and never came back the rest of week. It was a wonderful stay at the Villas on Lake George. We rented a boat for the day and rented two jetskis which was our first time doing here in LG! Good to note they offer this to non guests as well. A beautiful property to stay at, the view of the lake is breathtaking. The cafe was great to visit in the morning, the menu had specialty coffee drinks, bagels, smoothies and more. The owners and staff were so friendly and helpful to us. My family is already looking forward to our stay next summer, which we already booked! read more

The people here are very nice especially Candee who does it all around here from making up your room to planting all of the beautiful flowers to helping around the dock...she makes sure you get what you need. The room (2 bedroom with one queen 2 twins) had a nice new couch, new rug, new floors, freshly painted, the bathroom was clean but lacking in storage. There is a pretty "beach" area mostly grass so no worries about annoying sand..pool is "heated" but it was cold although very well kept. Wifi works well...picnic table in front could be painted-or replaced, fire pits available but bring some wood...very peaceful place. Free kayaks and paddle boards a very nice option! I recommend a visit if looking for a nice place to stay. read more

This is a wonderful, family run resort! My girlfriend and I came up to Lake George to get out of the city and we were so happy to find the Villas on Lake George. The rooms were very clean and the staff were all so friendly and welcoming! Not only did we get the chance to enjoy some peace and quiet, we also got the chance to explore the lake with a tour guide, water ski and kayak around the nearby islands. I would love to come back here next summer with my family, they would love this place! read more

Location is great, conveniently located between Bolton Landing and Lake George Village with their own private beach, various boats for rent, and a great view of the lake with spacious rooms. My husband and I purchased one of Leonardo's rental fleet pontoon boats. We were traveling from Northern VT to look at the boat and he was kind enough to hold the boat until we arrived to see if we were interested in purchasing. He had the boat ready with water to the motor so we could start it and hear the engine run. He was very honest about what work had been done to the boats and things he felt should be replaced. He was very kind, informative and did not pressure or rush us. When we decided to purchase and pick up the boat he was very organized with all the paperwork and extras he gave us to go with the boat. Clean and not overly expensive, but that's about all. We needed to find lodging in the Lake George area for a couple of days in late August with only 2 weeks notice. It's difficult to find something not too expensive at the height of the summer season. The Villas on Lake George seemed to fit the bill. Our room (for $165 per night plus tax) was clean, but that was really all to recommend it. The bathroom amenities were scant to non-existent. No soap was provided; two small packets of shampoo, the size of ketchup packets, were provided; no drinking glasses were provided - not even plastic cups, and just one partial TP roll. There is a small beach on the property with a swimming area that seems to be nice for small children, and also a nice pool located near busy Rt 9n. Additionally there are a few kayaks available on a first-come basis. Lake George is just gorgeous from no matter where you view it. There is a jet ski rental concession located at the beach. From that concession, a radio is played (mellow rock), and that does affect the atmosphere on the beach for better or worse, depending on your tastes. During our stay, we returned to our room at 3:30 pm one day and the room had not been made up - bed not made nor towels exchanged. A little later, the maid knocked on the door just as my wife was getting out of the shower, so I asked her to please return in 10 minutes or so. She never did return, so our room was never made up during our two-night stay. This might be a matter of forgetting, but it was in line with the general level of service provided. Checkout time is 10 am, which gives you less time to get your things together and depart than what you find at many places. The lady at the front desk is very nice and wished us a safe trip home. So if you need a clean place to sleep for a night or two at Lake George, The Villas may not be so bad. Your kids will be able to take a dip at the little beach on the beautiful lake. Our inexpensive room was the bare minimum. There are apparently a number of more expensive rooms which may be a lot nicer. read more

This year we booked a very last minute trip to Lake George for a long weekend through booking.com. We booked the room only weekend prior to the date. As luck would have it, my son came down with a stomach flu and we had to cancel. I contacted booking.com and they were helpful in working through the fees. They let us know that they would waive the fee to the property owners (because of the circumstances) and gave me the number to the Villas so that I could call and explain my situation. I called, spoke with a lovely woman who told me she understood what happened, and that she would speak to the owner about issuing a refund. That is where it all fell apart. I called several times, left messages and finally reached the owner. He had me call back week after week to make sure that booking.com did not charge him. His final answer to us was, we couldn't rent the room so we are charging you. I understand there are policies, and I understand there are protocols. I just don't understand how a "family friendly" business could be so void of compassion for extenuating circumstances. Perhaps I should have driven with my son, allowed him to vomit all over and risk sickening other guests in the resort area? While I can't speak to the amenities, the property etc. I can speak to the lack of compassion and customer service this place showed us and I DO NOT RECOMMEND doing business with this establishment. If they wanted to try to recover and rent the room, they should have had it listed as available as soon as I cancelled... which they did not. In a place like Lake George, I am certain we will find more compassionate, caring and family friendly lodging at our next visit. read more
