I felt like we could ask any question and get pro quality instruction! The staff was sharp and on point (pardon the pun) Tip: don't go hungry, there is no food (outside of packed chips and bottled drinks) or alcohol on the premises. This should change in About 3 mths. Went with a group of 9, 6 throwers and 3 observers on a gloomy Sunday afternoon to toss some axes. Was welcomed by Brad who was warm and witty and spent a lot of time showing us the ropes and gave excellent instructions. Maggie was also there to help guide our group on the proper way to toss and to banter with Brad which was really funny. After a few bad throws, loud bangs, and total misses, our group got the hang of it and it was a ton of fun! Tossing the stars made us feel like ninjas! This was not my first time axe throwing but for the other in the party, it was. We came for my moms birthday. My mother had the best time! The staff is friendly and offer great coaching. Ask for Kim is she's there. She's amazing. The only reason they didn't get 5 stars is because their is limited space so the lanes are shorter and you can't throw with 2 hands. If you can't tell, I'm a two hander. Outside of that, we have such a great time. If it's your birthday, let them know and they will give you a balloon to pop during your lane time. My son had is 13th birthday party here and I can't even begin to say how much fun these boys had! Our instructor, Sarah, was amazing and helped guide all of them in proper throwing technique. They got lots of practice then the games began. We had the projector lane so we started with a zombie target and the game cornhole, then switched to tic-tac-toe, which became the most intense game of tic-tac-toe any of us ever experienced . My son even really loved that he got to cut his cake with an axe. Every kid (and even moms) had a BLAST and I would 100% recommend this place for your child's next birthday party or even a fun night out with friends!! read more

Came here last night and had a blast. The ladies working were so helpful I was struggling with throwing the axe one hand so they taught me how with both hands and from there the rest was history. They offered up fun games to play against your partner. We upgraded to the ninja stars, knifes etc which was so much fun. You can work up a sweat in the 1.5 you are there. Things lacking: food... they have snacks (chips, ice cream, candy, I think I saw hot pocket with a microwave, but some apps would be nice not sure if it's possible. If not something simple, chips and salads/guac, cheese board with crackers, idk. And some adult beverages which I think I read somewhere they were working on it. read more

What a fun first time axe throwing! My two close friends and I booked a reservation to axe throw on a Friday evening and we were glad that we did. It was a great stress reliever, I mean let's be honest this year has been stressful. Nice place nestled in Rockville just a little past Short Pump area. Great activity for social distancing & mask are required. $35 per person and you can have between 2-7 throwers. Knife-throwing is an additional $10 if you want to try that. Booking our reservation online was quick and easy. We end up needing to push our time back and VA axe was able to accommodate with no issues. The staff members were friendly and helpful throughout our whole time there. The drinks and snacks are self service. Safe to say that we will be back again soon! We really enjoyed ourselves and the friendly competition it brought out in us all. Recommendations: closed toed shoes, comfy clothing. I took my husband here for his birthday and we had a great time! The staff take time at the beginning to teach you how to throw and they give you pointers if your axe throwing isn't quite cutting it. In addition, they started us both off with the same axe but after seeing how we were throwing, suggested different ones for both of us. My boyfriend and I were visiting from MA for vacation. On the spur, we decided why not try axe throwing?! Let me just say, the manager, Chris, is a gem. If it weren't for him, axe throwing would have been fun, but not quite the experience we had. He spent so much time with us teaching about throwing, giving suggestions, and just being social!
