When you walk in it's kind of disconcerting because there is no desk upfront it's in the back of the store so you're not really sure the first time you're in here where to go it's a little bit of a maze. I was greeted immediately and I asked for help finding something to prevent jet lag, or at least lessen it. The woman at the counter wasn't sure and asked a co-worker. I completely understand, the number of products they have in the store would be impossible to memorize and I think jet lag hasn't come up very much in the last year and a half. Andrea took me to an area where they used to have a product, but they were out. She then looked up the ingredients and took me to the area where I could get the little tubes of the homeopathic medicines. We went back to the register and I asked if she knew how/when to take them; she was already pulling it up on the computer. They greet me with a smile, ask about how I am, and are always eager to help answer my questions or find the correct product I'm looking for. Unlike a restaurant, I cannot tip the staff here for their help, but wanted to shout out the current manager *Andrea* for her exceptional service. Originally, I was skeptical when the previous guy left (he knew a lot about supplements), but he was replaced with a far superior talent! Not only is she always cheery (which makes my day; some people are just like that I guess?), she seems to have a great memory! I have been to the Vitamin Shoppe in Northridge, but since I have moved to Van Nuys I had to come and check out this new closer Vitamin Shoppe. I must say that it is smaller than the Northridge store but the variety is still there. I went in to look for some Fenugreek and wheat grass powder. Sure enough they had it. My Go To Vitamin Shoppe! I have shopped here a few times and I must say the experience is pretty consistent! The ONLY thing I don't like about this location is the parking. The store itself is very clean and the employees are very nice and not pushy. They helped me find what I needed and kept it moving. I had a lot of questions about the BlenderBottle during my last visit and the employee was very helpful and didn't seem annoyed at all. They have a wide selection of protein for Gluten Free/Vegan people too which is a huge plus. It's a pretty laid back location in Encino and never too busy. Again, the only con to coming here is the parking. The lot seems to only have a couple spaces available and pretty much the rest of the lot is for Bank of America customers; So you either get lucky finding a spot or you have to pay for metered parking on the street. I went into the vitamin shoppe today looking for glucosamine that my doctor had recommended after a few surgeries, If it wasn't for the knowledgable employee named Alex there I would have been totally lost! He was able to explain the differences between the different products they had to offer in the store. Alex was also able to share with me what he thought works best from personal experience since I was skeptical thinking it's all a gimmeck. I also was on search for some candles that are a natural remedy to remove wax from your ears. No other employee in the store was familiar with them and there were no directions on the label and Alex was able to explain to me excactly what to do:-) he is a vital asset to the company!
