What initially brought me here was the recommendation of a trainer at a gym I go to. Because they regularly have weekly specials both on energy drinks as well as protein ones pretty much every Thursday through Sunday. For a dollar! Holler! Limited to 6, but each day. So, you can be a repeat offender. Follow their IG page to get the updates. They also have a loyalty program which is nice. But, the store is packed with all the latest products for anyone chasing the wellness and self care. For those who aren't, I guess there's always the liquor store, right? The manager offered me vitamins for "post mortem". Which should give you an idea of the level of intelligence of the all male staff. I went in to ask for vitamins to treat PMDD. I know that the staff aren't medical professionals, but assumed someone employed at a vitamin shop would have some basic knowledge of their stock and people's needs. The owners don't seem to think it's important to have anyone on staff that can assist women's issues for over half the population. I asked one young male employee, without much hope, for PMDD vitamins. He said "uhh, we don't have that", and asked his even younger colleague who said "Nah." The male manager overheard us and said "What are you looking for?" I said "PMDD vitamins". He said "Oh, um. No." Awkward silence. I said "Do you guys know what that is?" and the two young boys said "No," but the manager said "Of course. It's uh, Post Mortem.....". I said "Post Mortem???" He said "Yeah it stands for Post Mortem, uh.....post mortem...." I said again, "I'm sorry, POST MORTEM????" He said "Yes! Post Mortem!" I said "Ok - well, post mortem means AFTER DEATH so I don't think anyone needs vitamins for that. It is Pre Menstrual Dysphoric Disorder." He said "Oh yeah I knew that." Sure ya did, babe. I just had an extremely positive experience at the Vitamin Shoppe. I've been under a great deal of stress lately and came in this morning for some supplements. The new store manager, Art, was fantastic. He really took his time showing me different potential stress-relieving supplements, describing them to me, talking to me about life and stress, and most importantly, listening to me. Not many people take the time to listen, but Art really did. Turns out he's only been the store manager for three months! I would've thought he'd been manager for years with how professional he was. I will definitely come back after doing some research on my own and make a purchase of one of the supplements Art recommended. I already purchase vitamins and my husband's supplements from this Vitamin Shoppe, and I'll start buying more now, thanks to the help I received today. The best customer service I've ever received. Both associates greeted me as soon as I walked in and helped me find the product I was looking for. There was only one bottle of the supplement I came to buy on the shelf and I just so happened to ask while checking out if there was anymore in stock. The dosage is pretty high so one bottle will run out quickly, the associate checked for me and there was none in stock. All good; he let me know that I could check periodically online to see when new stock came in. Here is the best part: I get to my car getting ready to pull off and he runs outside to let me know they found another bottle in the stock they were unloading. I MEAN.. AWESOME! Awesome Spot! I come here for protein so I am pretty much in and out the door so this won't be a very long review. Parking: This location has a shared lot but there is always really great parking. The location: I believe this location is still fairly new so it's always pretty quiet when I go in. It is nice and spacious and very easy to find what you're looking for. Customer Service: I always have great customer service from the moment I walk in to when I am all checked out and on my way. Every employee I have had has always had the same consistent level of friendliness and awesome customer service. The prices are pretty much the same as any Vitamin Shoppe and I don't feel pushed to buy things I don't need. If I would say anything, I would say it would be nice for them to have some type of music or background noise in the store. I bought box of protein bars maybe 3 weeks ago and I was really happy because the price was nice and I didnt have to wait for delivery. 2 days ago I took one of those bars and ate during my training. When I got home my stomach was upset the whole rest of the day. I`ve decided to check what was the reason? I found out those bars was expired for 5 days... This is a newer store in a strange shopping center off of Ventura. The parking can get full with valet, but I usually find a spot in the front. Service is hit-or-miss in the smile department. I actually have a splitting headache after dealing with this store. I called and asked if a product was in stock and was told that IT WAS IN STOCK. I drove all the way there and when I got there I was told that the product was NOT in stock. Suffice to say, this is bad, but geez, it gets worse. "Can I order it from you now and you have it delivered to the store?" "Yes," the stork clerk answered. So after giving all my information and signing me up in their system, having pissed off customers in line after me, huffy to wait... the store clerk tells me she can't order it through her store computer. But if Vitamin Shoppe has it available online, why can't you order it through your system? ???? The only reason I give in one star is because the poor store clerk, who TOLD ME the product was in stock, was the only person in the store. So the negative 4stars goes the to chain store. They leave a "new" inexperienced employee alone to open the store, handle the customers, answer the phones, cash out the customers, and stock the shelves. Really? Their computer doesn't work, the language base looks like it's written in Lotus. She didn't offer me a discount card or anything worth anything to keep me as a customer after this unnecessary headache. I try to give business to all local places, but I'm going stick Amazon or another online service. I will only support local mom and pop shops, no more local chains. read more
