I am a nutrition and fitness fanatic. I usually know exactly what I'm looking for in a supplement including the source of the ingredients. The last two times I entered this store the staff was very unfriendly and not knowledgeable or helpful at all. I encountered a very unpleasant guy with an attitude that told me "there's no such thing as B6 ma'am." Okay... then he went to Google it and came back and announced that "oh yeah" there is a B6. Thank you for that. Yesterday a woman asked me if I needed help, and I asked if they carried Caralluma Fimbriata, which she replied "I never heard of that, did you check Whole Foods or Trader Joe's". And then followed me around the store while I went to grab a supplement that I normally take (Astaxanthin) she stood over me while I examined the bottle and it was priced double what I normally pay. The other two employees young men, were having a fight with rubber bands and when I needed to actually be rung up both disappeared as did the woman. I waited for a few minutes until someone emerged. Getting in my protein, bro! PROTEIN BRO! Had to get in my protein shake after pumping up at the NYSC out here in the scary burbs of Lawn Guyland. I had to replenish my pumped muscles with some high quality BRO-TEIN! This Vitamin Shoppe is similar to other locations with pretty much the same shelves of merchandise and layouts. It's actually a large square space for this location. They had just what I needed in the fridge. Nice cold cans of muscle growing BRO-TEIN! Counter help and staff here were ok. No straws to give me with my drink so I downed it like an animal. Some items are even on sale so be sure to check out what's in stock. As with all of these shops it is well organized with all kinds of vitamins and powders. Be sure to join their rewards club to get occasional deals and coupons in the mail and email. Asked for help finding something - the guy at the register barely picked his head up from his cell phone and pointed to the back wall and told me what I wanted was there. I went back to look and couldn't find it. I had never purchased this product before, so I really didn't know what I was looking for. I went back to the register and told him I couldn't find it. He was still ion his phone. He huffed and walked back to show me. I started to ask a question and he was already walking away. Seemed annoyed to have to stop and help me again. In a search to find Mag 07 during my detox I came to this Vitamin Shoppe location. I was amazed when I walked in at the array of Vitamins displayed. I browsed around the store looking for my item and eventually grew frustrated as I couldn't find it and the young girl at the counter I guess decided that I don't exist while seeming to be busy doing nothing. Ughhh. Just as I was going to either leave or blow a gasket, a sweet young man offered to help me. I was then in and out in just a few minutes. The store is very neat and organized. I would have given 5 stars but I found out one of my favorite people there got transferred to a crappy location in West Babylon. Everyone is very friendly knowledgeable and very helpful at The Vitamin Shoppe Stony Brook, NY. I enjoy visiting, browsing, and all the provided bonuses, savings and coupons available, and the convince of the auto-ship program with its 10% additional savings. I also like how really simple and convent and flexible it is for me. I especially enjoy the Tuesday evening SPARK Sessions get-togethers on location with everybody. They are terrific! Thomas Zachmann RDN, CDN provides free one on one nutritional consultations and you can schedule an in depth one on one sit down meeting with Tom who will evaluate and provide a complete and comprehensive nutritional profile especially tailored for your health and nutritional well being. Again all this for free, simply stop by Tuesday evenings or call to speak with Tom Zachmann. On Tuesdays there is a special presentation on dietary nutrition on various health topics and a live demonstration. The entire store is filled with the aroma of delicious fresh cooked healthy food and we all get a good helping to sample. Tuesday evening also provides all of us with free samples of nutritional supplements and vitamins, lots of time with a complete months supply, plus a xerox of the ingredients and recipe of the prepared meal of the evening! Everyone feels at home. The entire staff is marvelous Karen coordinates and takes care of everything, Tom does all the cooking and explains the nutritional value and benefit of the provided meal, and the recipe and its ingredients. Everyone helps passing out the food around the table. Mike and Pat also provide an eminence amount of knowledge and answers to whatever questions I may have. This is a great vitamin shop. A wide selection and I love their set up. The Only reason I gave them 4 stars is because I bought a bunch of boxes of protein bars that were on sale. Usually I look at expiration date at places I buy at, but I trusted vitamin shop. I went home, and the next day I was eating one of the protein bar. It tasted a little funky so I looked at expiration date and it said best by March 2018. I will go back to this vitamin shop but I'll make sure I check the expiration date next time. read more
