I was a walk in, so with no appointment I was greeted by friendly assistant, chancing my arm for shellac nails at 5pm on a Saturday, this was not a problem she promptly seated me and got it underway. At great price of €25 they have a huge range of colours! They offer everything from hands, feet and body treatments plus their waxing is priced really well so will be popping back and availing of this. Only 2 doors up from me, this could be my regular go to place... Also love they do make up application so for special occasions this could work great for me :-) Whilst my nails were being done, there was light hearted chat going on amongst us; there was another lady having her nails done and the 2 workers, one being the owner and she was super friendly, within a few weeks of opening they've really done well in the village, considering local competition these ladies have a great reputation so people have warmed to them and got booking in with them. My nails are looking great... They lasted for 3 weeks so great job and when I went back to have the shellac redone, the experience was again excellent :-)

Not only do they make my sausage fingers look beautiful but they also make me feel welcome and warm and as though I'm an old friend walking through the door when I come in. Getting my nails done used to be a chore; I now look forward to it. Aaaand that's just the tip of the iceberg. Dive into their spa treatments and there is no way you'll be disappointed. In fact, I'll bet you my own money that you'll find a new level of bliss with their services. Specifically, I treated myself to the body exfoliation scrub and the hot stone massage treatment. I'm not gonna lie, I've had some pleasurable experiences in my life but they're all almost a distant second to this spa treatment. Head's up, it's not the mani/pedi price and experience you'd be used to coming from San Francisco. It's not a quickie in and out but schedule yourself some time for it. It's worth it. We were brought to the relaxation room. It's cosy with huge chairs and cushions. We were brought to our treatment room. I love the way we could get changed into dressing gown in the room. The room was very relaxing. I had the coconut foot soak, hot towel back compress, relaxing back, neck and shoulder massage, Dermalogica Facial and foot massage. From start to finish was so relaxing. Best massage ever. When I went back into the relaxation we had Presecco and chocolates ready for us. And my pet hate .... product pushing I didn't feel there was any pressure to buy any products like some Spas. This was our first visit. We will defo be back and we will probably be now making this a regular visit as we loved it.

I got the Relax & Renew spa package that was reduced from €119 to €69 in December, which included a coconut foot soak, Dermalogica facial, Indian head massage and a back, hand and foot massage. The offers change every month, but I know for January 2016, it €59 for the skin treatments like microdermabrasion and illuminating facials and 40% discount on massages. I've also had a deep tissue massage here which was pretty good but shorter than I expected (~40 mins). The girls here are really nice and friendly and they always do my Shellac perfectly (although they don't do complimentary removal even if you got it there, which costs an extra €5). The nail art is pretty limited in that they don't seem to do the really funky designs. You can get simple things like glitter, stars, hearts etc. though. They also seem to have some unique treatments that you don't come across everyday like ear candling, seaweed facials, body wraps and massage as well as special treatments like laser (non-contract), IPL red vein removal, facial peels and callus removal. The prices in general are slightly lower than most city centre salons (facials cost around €70 up), and the online booking system allows you to made instantaneous appointments via phorest without having to wait for confirmation. Overall, nice salon with friendly staff, a range of treatments and interesting special offers.

Her coworker, Dominika, was also very sweet and even helped me with getting a bus card. While they were able to fit me in for a walk-in, I think it was just perfect timing. They seem to have a steady flow of appointments so I would try calling ahead just in case. If I'm ever in Dublin again, I will be back!

Also very convenient is the fact that you can text her to book an appointment at any time and she always replies within five minutes or so. She is very accommodating and will always try to get you an appointment when she can. Having been to lots of different spas & salons over the years I can confidently say that I think Magic Nail Bar with Kate is my favourite place to go for a manicure. Magic is run by Kate, an extraordinary character and lovely lady through and through. She has back to back appointments so make sure you book in advance. You do so by texting her, she replies straight away. She does Shellac and regular polish and offers other beauty treatments too. During the appointment, I pulled up the design I wanted and my nail tech visibly rolled her eyes. It was my birthday present to get my nails done, and I'm quite disappointed. To make matters worse, the credit card machine was down and rather than apologizing they just expected the customer to deal with the inconvenience. Love love love love and love!…read more I have never experienced a nail bar like this before! It's casual, quirky and just down right fun! The selection of colours available is insane...I am not over exaggerating when I say it took me about 20 minutes to decide on what colours to go for (which is shocking when you consider I chose a nude pink)! Luckily, I had an ice cold lilt ( Served in a coconut cup) to sip on while doing so! As for my gel nails, I am delighted and will let the photo speak for itself! The only thing that bugs me is that the gel takes forever to dry so I ended up with a smudge or two, but that's my own fault! I didn't want yer average Uma Thurman kinda jobbie, so thought to myself, hmmm who could bring my costume to the next level? Who is just about creative enough to pull this off?! Got myself straight into Tropical Popical and had little suits painted onto my nails with blue, pink, white etc shirts. Geddit!? The lovely laydee who did my nails was amazing - they only took about 30-40 minutes and I've had people commenting on them all week. Have a look at the photo attached - whopper or wha!
