Super busy on a Sunday morning but we got here before the church crowd poured in so the wait was minimal. My friends went with sweet waffles with lots of sugary toppings and wow, they looked amazing. This is in a shopping area in a stand alone building. I found it easily, although parking was a bit difficult. The parking lot is rather tight (not their fault), but there is handicapped parking right next to the side door. There is a decent amount of parking adjacent to the building with more across a traffic lane. Seating is a mix of booths and tables which can hold about 50 people. The tables are far enough apart you don't feel crowded. We were seated quickly and our waitress had coffee ready as we sat down. The breakfast entrees seemed limited in what they included (usually one item besides eggs), so the ala cart portion of the menu allowed me to try additional things. The daily special was breakfast burritos (which came with nothing else), so I added a biscuit and gravy. My dining partner ordered the Denver omelet and a side of hash browns. Our food came out in about 10 minutes. I thought the breakfast burritos looked a bit small, but they were filled to bursting. The biscuit was good and the gravy excellent. I finished my meal and was quite full. My dining partner enjoyed her omelet and said the hash browns were cooked perfectly. I thought the coffee was a little weak but the rest of the meal, as well as the service, was outstanding. This is a must try when we are in the area again. read more

The definitive place to get waffles. While ordering coffee at 7 Brew, Emily and I were hungry and needed somewhere to eat. She picked two places and I took a coin and flipped for where we would go. The Waffle Company won the flip, which was convenient as it was right next door to the coffeehouse. Walking in, it's kind of a janky place. Pure white walls with random assortment of things hanging up on the walls. I didn't have high hopes between the janky parking lot and the odd interior but we sat down and ordered anyways. I got the Bacon Caramel Waffle and upgraded it to a combo (I think that's what it was called) which included bacon, eggs, toast, and those little delicious potato chunks. Emily got the Mexican scramble. Within the first bite, all my trepidation and hesitation fell away. This was perfection. The waffle was every bit bacon, caramel, and delicious from first bite to last. The sides were super delicious as well. Eggs cooked just right, potato chunks full of flavor, toast neither too toasted or almost raw. Bacon was bacon, I was on a bit of bacon overload between it and the waffle. Emily really liked her scramble. I tried a bite and it was hot hot hot. It had an unreal kick to it that made me wonder how she put it down without breaking out in a sweat. I think the final tab was around $30 for both our meals, which I would've paid double for how good it was. The Waffle Company is... and I don't hesitate to say this... the best breakfast I've ever had. This just goes to show that you can't trust appearances for how good a place is. Stopped in on our way through Mt Vernon and this was a huge win! Super friendly and attentive service, delicious food at a good price. I hade a Greek omelette made with gyro meat and feta cheese...it hit the spot! My son had a waffle combo and it had a monster waffle (he had pecans IN the waffle) eggs sausage hash browns and toast...it was a feast!! Definitely a good place to stop when traveling through...and not just for breakfast 'cause they have a lunch menu too...only open till the afternoon. This place is obviously loved by locals because it was packed! If locals love it, you have a winner! read more

Could not recommend this breakfast stop more. If I could give it 10 stars I would. We have been here numerous time. The food always comes out fresh and hot and it never takes long at all. My husband loves the chicken and waffles and I am a lover of the omelets. The dinning area as well as the bathroom facilities are keep nice and clean. The staff are always friendly and ready to greet you when you walk in the door. Even when there is a line of people waiting for a table, we have never waited longer than 5 minutes to be sat. They are so quick getting food out to people that those coming in never have to wait long for a table to clear. read more

My wife and I stopped in on our way thru Mt Vernon and were thrilled with the food and service. My wife had the cinnamon roll waffle which tasted just like a warm cinnamon roll, excellent!! I went with the meat lovers omelet. It was one of the best I've had, but the hash browns stole the show. We also had a biscuit and gravy to share on the side and it was great , also. Excellent breakfast! We were first timers and will definitely be back when we pass thru this area! I got the 2 mini waffles and a side of sausage patties and it was cooked perfectly. My husband got the haystack and said it was delicious. The portion was huge so bring your appetite if you order it! We arrived around 8:30 on a Sunday morning and half the restaurant was full and by the time we left it was completely full. Restaurant was clean and food arrived quickly. We stopped in during our visit to see family. I really enjoyed the ambiance. Very quaint and had a comfortable feel. The service was OUTSTANDING. We got coffee refills quickly and our waitress was very attentive. The food was delicious. We didn't get waffles, however so really can't vouch for those although my mother-in-law raves about them. I got the bacon and eggs and hubby got the Red Hot link hoagie and biscuits and gravy. Really great taste and seasoned well. The prices were very good. If I could give this place a 5 stars I would on the sole basis of affordability I would. Luckily this place backs it up with fantastic breakfast food. You know it's good when the entire place is packed and the wait is either out the door or pressed right up against it. The line moves fairly quickly but I wouldn't go here with any more than a group of 4 total people. The prices here are phenomenal and the food is great too. The syrup comes out hot and steaming and they'll serve lunch foods for breakfast which I've slowly been trying out as well. Easily some of my favorite things are the hot chicken and waffles. Enough spice to let you know it's there but not enough to make you sweat or cry. Another fun thing to try is the french toast. The fruity pebble and captain crunch varieties are worth a shot. If you can't eat a whole waffle or pancake I highly suggest trying the french toast. The pancakes are titanic, thick, and honestly should be eaten in ones and twos, not threes. The lunch food here is quite good. The cheesesteak is better than it has any right to be at a waffle establishment and same for the reuben. the chicken cordon bleu sandwich's fried chicken is something worth trying as well. All the chicken items here are worth a shot cause they taste fresh out the fryer. Fresh enough to scald the top of your mouth if you bite too quickly. If you have the time for sunday brunch, there's no better place in town to try but this one! Seating may be limited but the staff is friendly and when you're done you just go up to the front and pay, no waiting for checks! read more

This place is so unassuming with its basic look and understated signage but wow!!! What a great breakfast!!! I had the spicy chicken and waffles which was 2 spicy, fresh cooked chicken tenders on top of a piping hot waffle with hot honey and powdered sugar. All this for about $7. Then my 8 year old daughter had the Mickey Mouse pancake which was almost bigger than the platter it was served on. It was made with chocolate chips and whipped cream making the face of Mickey. All for $3!!!! She got a side of scrambled eggs for $1. Our total tab was less than $13 with drinks. It was SO good. We will be back!! read more

Watched 4 tables who were seated after us be served and one leave before we were served. Observed other takes experiencing the same issue. They have a tremendous variety of breakfast options. You can't go wrong with any of the combo plates (waffle, pancake, or French toast) which include 2 eggs any style, your choice of meats, hash browns, and toast. They have a number of different omelettes available as well as breakfast burritos. The eggs Benedict are very good and they have a dish called the haystack which if you order it, you'll probably not eat until dinner time. There's that much food. During breakfast hours be prepared to wait as this place is very popular. However, the wait will not be long as their service is really fast and efficient. We stopped in last week on a road trip and had biscuits and gravy which were also good. What a wonderful little place to have spicy chicken and a waffle! I was on a road trip from the east coast heading toward Missouri and searched Breakfast. What a joy! This place is not far from Hwy 64 and 8 trucks were parked outside waiting for the restaurant to open (definitely a good sign). Most of the people were locals (also a great sign), and the server had all if their individual tables ready to go with coffee cups and utensils . In no way did this distract her from providing excellent service to me. I ordered the spicy chicken and waffle. The chicken was piping hot and juicy as well as boneless. The waffle was sweet but not overly so. The chicken was served on top of the waffle dusted with powdered sugar and both drizzled with a spicy honey hot sauce. On the side was a warm 3 ounce cup of syrup. I actually liked the waffle and chicken with just that wonderful spicy honey sauce. The good came out quick and hot. I was happy with my huge mug of hot coffee that my server was happy to refill when making a pass. Although not likely to pass through here again, I certainly recommend anyone else who will, stop by this awesome little waffle company. read more
