This contractor specifically agreed to repair any damage to landscape lighting but failed to do so and ignored repeated requests to return and make repairs. Too bad we can't call them again. The landscape work was good. read more

The Wallace Company had been responsive and professional in handling our landscape lighting. Through no fault of theirs, our under ground wiring was cut due to fiber optic cable being placed. Pat (and Sean!) were extremely helpful and responsive and we had our lights up and working in no time! They look beautiful! Wow...everything they said and did was 100% spot on! The "A" team was on time every day, cleaned as they went along. Every phase of our project they went over it with to make sure we understood what was going to take place. Palm Trees were excellent, lighting is amazing. Their guarantee is not worth the paper it's written on!!! We had nearly a $35,000 landscaping job that included revamping the irrigation system, Lighting, and new sod. The sod in the backyard did horribly, always a yellow, green appearance --and I was told repeatedly "give it time", which I did. I also invested in their Lawn Maintenance Service from the start so that I could do my best to help the lawn thrive. It never did. They did send different guys out early on to investigate, but never fixed the problem-- the grass still looks half dead in the backyard. I repeatedly tried to have this addressed, emailed repeatedly, with no response other than seeing that later, the lawn maintenance team would show up and do a treatment. (Which of course, I paid for). A year and a half later they finally did a soil sample and realized it needed a ton of lime, which they placed, and it has improved the situation, although the backyard has plenty of dead areas and won't likely recover. We feel it simply was not properly prepared, did not thrive, and need to be resodded. Communication with this company is terrible; the right hand does not seem to know what the left hand is doing, you always get the runaround about which person to talk to, and meet plenty of people --none of whom are in charge and can do anything about the issue. I spoke with the ladies that answer the telephone on numerous occasions, requesting a meeting with Mr. Wallace, (or Vic or Victor) and also sent an email with this request. This never occurred, and when I made one final effort to have them rectify the problem, with pictures and email again, I was only to be told by one of the phone ladies that Mr. Wallace said I needed to renew my maintenance contract before they would come back out to look at it--now at over TWICE the initial cost from the previous year. I waited a long time before placing this review, and gave them many opportunities to rectify the problem with the sodding, but now I am speaking out. To be clear, my only complaint is the sod that was placed and never thrived, and they never fixed the problem, and in our view, it needed to be replaced. The irrigation system, and the lighting have been perfect and I was very happy with those. If I could review them separately, I would give them five stars. Anyway-- don't expect customer service or communication from this company. And if they place your sod and the sod does not do well, too bad, your loss. Dear public and 'The Wallace Company' owners, It is important for you to know the truth; as you certainly will not hear it from anyone in this company. The following event, as reported below, occurred nearly two weeks ago. Multiple attempts have been made by phone, by text, and by email, to every "manager" involved. We have received no response from any one of them; except, their billing department, which said they mailed an invoice nearly 2 weeks before we even owned the property. Apparently, the prior owners received it, as they still lived there. We have kindly and generously waited nearly two weeks for a response. Their collective choice to ignore our attempts to communicate and even allow them the chance to reconcile has made this review necessary. Report: "Manager" Carlos and I walked the property well before the job. He wrote down notes as we walked. The job was to clean up a long neglected garden and landscape, which had suffered some freeze damage. There were many plants which were suffering from long term maintenance neglect; which we were told (on the phone) by a manager, Josh, was part of the included services they performed. Also, there were/are many deep mystery holes throughout the lawn. Mid-afternoon on a Friday, the day the job was scheduled, but barely even underway, Richard and a blonde female I have never met, arrived and immediately verbally attacked me and accused me of "harassing" their team, without even introducing themselves, nor asking me my experience of the day, nor mentioning the phone message I left them much earlier that morning to request more men and working equipment, because they had sent insufficient, broken and useless dull equipment, and they had not sent the full team of professionals we were promised; nor even apologizing about the ruined shape of three damaged large primary holly trees, and their mistake of actually removing of one of a set of three large holly trees, and two butchered shrubs. When I laughed in amazement at their unexpected and abrupt rudeness and ridiculous false accusations they instantly pulled the guys off the job, right after more men, including Carlos and Patrick, got there to help. At least Patrick was qualified, polite and very helpful. This happened after we had gone most of the day, without the full professional team we were promised by the field manager, Carlos. He arrived with two inexperienced people who did not speak a word of English, and one man who barely spoke English. They arrived with equipment which did not even work and a couple of dull pruning tools. It became clear to me early on that my help was absolutely necessary; because, when I came out to check on them, one of the men was repeatedly yanking on a broken chain saw, and the main damage had already been done. That is why I was still outside working with Patrick when the rude Richard and a female "managers" arrived in full attack and quit mode. They quit the job before even really getting started, and left me to do the bulk of the pruning work and cleanup, which I did after they left at about 2:30. Work which was substantial enough to require much of the next day. We doubt their boss / owner knows what rude and disrespectful managers run his business. But they are utterly unprofessional and thoroughly unqualified for management. Richard and the blonde female are forbidden to enter our property again. The two who spoke no English, worked fairly steadily; though they did not have pruning skills. We have no idea why we did not get the full professional team, nor the necessary equipment we were promised by the field manager, Carlos. By failing to provide the people and equipment we were promised, Carlos and the office management set us up to fail. We had been scheduled a full week in advance; and, their failure to fully show up, then to abruptly abandon the job resulted in an inconsiderate waste of my time. The owner of the company, and the public needs to know and deserves to know the truth of this company's appalling current performance. read more

Called to get a quote ONLY for my sprinkler system. When they came out they did some work on it that I didn't authorize, then sent me a $300.00. What the heck. I'm on retirement income and don't have the money to pay it. It's not fair they did this to me. My opinion run don't walk somewhere else. read more

I cannot say enough good things about this company. The do incredible work at a very fair price and more importantly they always stand behind it. My technician is Pat Baril. It is extremely rare these days to find an individual who truly cares about his business and clients but Pat Baril does. He is to be commended and given a raise IMMEDIATELY. Seems this company uses it's past reputation to rip off unwary customers. 2 years ago they quoted me $1200 to replace a sprinkler pump. Quoting their discount price of $850 for the pump. I ended up buying the exact pump for $342 on Amazon and installing myself. Remembering their fair prices and good workmanship from 25 years ago, I decided to give them one more try...Recently, the $1000 quote received for a $300 smart sprinkler installation included 3 generally worded sentences with incorrect or no part numbers specified. Asked for detailed quote with adding a zone with pre-existing plumbing and sprinklers and a line up to some deck plants. I got the same quote with an added (non-detailed) sentence adding another $1200 to the $1000 already quoted. Asked (again) for a detailed quote with addition of a $100 inline flow meter including part number. Revised quote was exactly the same as others but included additional $350 for the meter. Now they want $2750... 8 times the DIY price ...and possibly with cheap replacements since they won't specify model or part numbers! When queried again about detailed quote and $250 for 15 minute labor charged, I was emailed: "We're not interested in your system anymore. Sorry for the inconvenience." Evidently, Wallace now hides their ridiculously bloated or inexplicable charges with vagary and deceit. Sad to see another local company go this direction. read more

First, they are very nice folks to work with. However, I had them do drainage work at my four-plex apartment building as i was having water intrusion in one of he apartments. They did a lot of work, putting in drain lines, etc. and I made the floor and wall repairs to the apartment the water had caused. Next big rain and again we had water in the apartment. They came back and did some more work. I repaired the floor again, and next big rain, and again water in the apartment. They finally came out again and found the drainage boxes would not drain and the lines actually ran in an up slope and could not drain. They again repaired , but this time I am not going to repair the floor and wall damage until after the next rain to ensure the apartment does not flood again. We have had limited use of that apartment for almost a year, and spent a lot repairing time and again. Hope the new fix works. read more

I get told they had an "emergency job".... must be something that would pay more. To not call and try and reschedule is not a good way to run a business read more

I have nothing but great things to say about Matt from the Wallace company. He is by far the best contractor we have ever worked with(across all fields). Matt went out of his way to help us find a solution for an issue in the backyard of a house that we were POTENTIALLY going to buy. He went to the home numerous times and worked out multiple quotes for different options for us to choose from. He responded quickly with any questions/concerns, and never made me feel like I was a nuisance. We highly recommended this company, and will definitely continue to use them in the future. read more
