It was the little things that made this a nice stay at this an old fashion motel. Our room was decorated in a fishing theme but in the morning I peeked into other rooms that were unoccupied and they were each decorated in a different northwoods theme. The room was a good size and had two queen beds with plenty of room to spare. It also had a microwave, tv, fridge, ac, a small sitting area and a large sink area outside the bathroom. The room also a screen door...seriously...it was like being at home or a cabin. The outside had chairs and beautiful hanging plants. Also a picnic table off to the side. They even have a freezer full of ice and a fish cleaning station. If you are in the mood for the experience of a classic roadside motel, look no further.

It was a beautiful room, spacious, with plenty of power outlets and comfortable furniture. It was very clean, and the bathroom was also large and looked new. Our room was on the top floor and overlooked the marina - a nice view to wake up to! We walked through the casino just to get a feel, and it was not noisy or smoky - definitely busier in the evening. They also have an on-site restaurant where we enjoyed breakfast one morning. All staff we met were friendly and helpful - and parking is plentiful and free. The town of Bayfield is just a 10-minute drive away with lots of restaurants, shopping, and recreation (kayak tours, boat tours, etc.). Also - don't miss the lovely hiking trail a 10-15 minute drive the other direction in the Frog Bay Tribal National Park.

Reservations were easy and this place was dog friendly so this was the reason we chose this hotel. $25 non refundable pet fee which seemed fair. When we arrived there was nobody at check in so waited 15 min. Not a biggie. Rooms: Two full size beds? They didn't feel like Queens. Microwave Flatscreen Small Fridge Cleanliness- well...... It didn't feel that clean at all. The desks etc all felt sticky. I brought my own Clorox wipes. Bathroom had bugs and something disgusting in the door frame. TP was almost out. Both rolls were just about empty with no spares. No Kleenex Towels- not all of them were taken and replaced even though they were dirty. Carpet was dirty and was coming up by the outside door. Nice outdoor access if you have a pet, but there was a lot of garbage laying around, cigarette butts, dog poo, etc. The pool area was unbearably hot and not the cleanest. The sign says "with a resort like feel" not the ones I have been to. It was okay for the stay, but for the price it was a little overpriced compared to where we have stayed for less. The views are great. Beach area is not well kept. My son could not get enough of the hammocks, even though they were quite dirty, but he loved it.

It was served as just a piece of steak on a plastic plate with no real plating or sides. Our fries were also removed as a side from our meal, thinking there was a miscommunication there with the kitchen. We also asked for an extra plate and silverware to share, and were given a paper plate and plastic utensils, which made it difficult to eat a steak comfortably and felt inconsistent with the expected level of dining. Just odd! Our server mentioned he was new, which we appreciated, and he did refill drinks and check in a few times. Overall, though, the service felt a bit flat and not especially engaging. At the end, the bill was around $75 for the steak frites plus a service charge, which we hadn't seen elsewhere in town. Between the pricing, service, and presentation, the experience didn't quite match expectations. Overall, the rooftop and steak were enjoyable, but the experience felt inconsistent.

Extraordinary!! We booked a bungalow online for our mini-moon post wedding as this rental allowed…read moredogs as opposed to the main area and would book again in a heartbeat. Check-in takes place at the main entry and check-ins post 4 pm will have a cute envelope pinned to the bulletin board with all the room information including door code, printed ferry schedule and other surrounding area pamphlets. Needless to say, it is very safe here. We came during offseason and appreciated the quaint and quiet spaces. We enjoyed how everything was walking distance and took our time getting acclimated with learning all the logistics of the island and our property. If you need to exit the island for any reason, you will have to take the ferry which is the same as how you enter. Our room was clean and spacious. We enjoyed the indoor fireplace, the claw tub which we sadly never got around to using, the giant walk in shower, the comfortable bed, Keurig coffee in the morning hours, the outdoor fire pit, laying patio loungers and being one with nature. Each bungalow has a stove, oven, microwave and mini fridge along with wine glasses, coffee mugs, silverware and plates which we really appreciated!! We were able to leverage the wine glasses and reheat some leftover meals in the microwave. Having the restaurant on property was a great way to start our vacation and knowing it was always open was nice. We saw plenty of deer across the field in the golf course area along with on property. During the evening hours when we had our bonfires, the stars in the sky were bright and the howls of coyotes made their rounds. The staff was able to accommodate our ask for more K-cups along with a later check-out. We will definitely be returning and hope to check out apple fest next year and make this part of our anniversary!! Thank you!!
