They had just started serving dinner to the tables and our waitress Ruby was very attentive and helpful. You no longer have to go up to bar and place your order & then wait & pick it up. The cheese curds were some of the best we have had. Fish & chips was good/ one order was enough for 2. They had a good selection of beers & drinks. After a 3 hour boat ride it was just what we needed.

The rooftop seating was the highlight -- beautiful views and a really nice atmosphere sitting outside overlooking the water. We ordered the steak frites to share. The steak itself was very good -- cooked perfectly and full of flavor. However, the presentation was very underwhelming. It was served as just a piece of steak on a plastic plate with no real plating or sides. Our fries were also removed as a side from our meal, thinking there was a miscommunication there with the kitchen. We also asked for an extra plate and silverware to share, and were given a paper plate and plastic utensils, which made it difficult to eat a steak comfortably and felt inconsistent with the expected level of dining. Just odd! Our server mentioned he was new, which we appreciated, and he did refill drinks and check in a few times. Overall, though, the service felt a bit flat and not especially engaging. At the end, the bill was around $75 for the steak frites plus a service charge, which we hadn't seen elsewhere in town. Between the pricing, service, and presentation, the experience didn't quite match expectations. Overall, the rooftop and steak were enjoyable, but the experience felt inconsistent.

I just can't believe I have never been here before when visiting Iron River. The setting and the view alone is worth a visit. Set on the edge of Deep Lake, get a window seat if you can to watch the sunset. It's not quite a supper club (which is okay!) but we still ordered Brandy Old-fashioned. Trust me- they make them well! I think we may have converted my cousin to making this her Wisconsin drink of choice based on no small part on this version. The menu is midwestern steak house with flair. I ordered one of the nightly specials- pecan encrusted walleye. It was so good. LIghtly breaded with hints of fennel- a combination I never would have thought of but it was so tasty. of course it was served with salad and a small loaf of bread- a great way to start a meal. THe dessert menu looked intriguing but we were stuffed- I took half my meal home and ate it for lunch the next day! Still tasty. I would add this to everyone's must stop list when in Northern Wisconsin

It's full of local color and delicious flavor. Nice selection on the menu--and quite interesting. I mean, the Blackened Ahi Tuna--each subsequent ingredient gets stranger: provolone cheese, spring greens, black bean pico de gallo, and wasabi mayo. Fairly friendly atmosphere. It's clear there are regulars here by the hugs being doled out by the servers. My steak, brussels sprouts with bacon, and baked potato were excellent. The steak was cooked just to my liking. I would stop here again.

HOWEVER, the bed and pillows need replacing, and the power light on the wall AC unit is bright enough to light the room at night! Weird. Check-in takes place at the main entry and check-ins post 4 pm will have a cute envelope pinned to the bulletin board with all the room information including door code, printed ferry schedule and other surrounding area pamphlets. Needless to say, it is very safe here. We came during offseason and appreciated the quaint and quiet spaces. We enjoyed how everything was walking distance and took our time getting acclimated with learning all the logistics of the island and our property. If you need to exit the island for any reason, you will have to take the ferry which is the same as how you enter. Our room was clean and spacious. We enjoyed the indoor fireplace, the claw tub which we sadly never got around to using, the giant walk in shower, the comfortable bed, Keurig coffee in the morning hours, the outdoor fire pit, laying patio loungers and being one with nature. Each bungalow has a stove, oven, microwave and mini fridge along with wine glasses, coffee mugs, silverware and plates which we really appreciated!! We were able to leverage the wine glasses and reheat some leftover meals in the microwave. Having the restaurant on property was a great way to start our vacation and knowing it was always open was nice. We saw plenty of deer across the field in the golf course area along with on property. During the evening hours when we had our bonfires, the stars in the sky were bright and the howls of coyotes made their rounds. The staff was able to accommodate our ask for more K-cups along with a later check-out. We will definitely be returning and hope to check out apple fest next year and make this part of our anniversary!! Thank you!!
