Their laundry drop off is amazing - even for work uniforms. I dropped off a big bag and received the clothes back on hangers and with the plastic liner. It is inexpensive and the best service. Everyone who works there is so nice and it is so clean! I am so happy I found this place, definitely worth the drive. They even offer fire tablets and books for kids to use which definitely goes above and beyond. :) If I could give 100 stars I would!! read more

Decent pricing on wash, super powerful, machines are like new. Both of the washer and dryer are huge. Drying is cheap, but it only went up to 8 minutes, I would recommend doing 3-4 cycles. This is the nicest place to get my clothes cleaned, the staff were happy to help guide me through it start to finish, I highly recommend it. read more

It went from a complete disgrace, to, in my opinion the most improved business in the last 10 years in this town. Super clean, and machines that actually work. I cannot say enough good stuff about this place! They have customer service down to a fine art. I started using this location because I was new to Illinois and lived in a third story walk-up. Let me say this: I run an animal rescue and we generate a LOT of filthy pet laundry. At the time of moving to IL, I had elderly dogs having a tough time adjusting to our move resulting in soiled bedding and I wound up needing help getting all their linens cleaned as often as required. It was tough to find a place that picked up, delivered and was willing to work with pet-related items. Insert The Washery. I could leave all soiled laundry on the main floor in a bag and it would be ready to bring back upstairs by days end. They even washed a bed for me I was not sure would survive the effort (it did! And has 3x since). When I went out of state a few months ago, The Washery was happy to work with me remotely so that my pet sitter could send laundry as often as needed for the pets if any accidents took place. It was so convenient to be able to handle all those concerns without actually being there! Then, we had a cat suffer major urinary problems. She hosed down a brand new queen mattress soaking not only the protective pad but also the mattress liner. The Washery to the rescue again! I suffered 3 long nights of lost sleep thinking I was going to have to throw out a brand new mattress. Nope! The Washery got the pad and liner squeaky clean without any sign that an accident had taken place. Bed smells fresh again! Recently, we decided to start using them full time for our personal laundry. I had to laugh when I got back all my "grungy night gowns" (you know the ones! They're thread-bare from years of love!) hung up on individual hangers shrouded in plastic. I'm pretty sure my laundry thought IT had gone on vacation! Those gowns haven't seen a hanger since purchase In any case, it highlights the fact that they take especially great care of your stuff. We've also sent our $$$$$ winter coats and they came back looking brand new. Finally? $10 off coupon for all new customers! If you don't know about it, that's okay because they're going to do the work for you and take the price off your tab before charging you. Truly, these are stand-up folks. My family and I came home from a 2 week vacation yesterday only to find our dryer had kicked the bucket. There is a laundromat less than a mile from my house, but it is a total dump with every other machine broken all the time and I refuse to go back there, so I checked Yelp. Thank you, Yelpers! Kitty-corner from the Fox River Grove Metra station, The Washery is a revelation! Super clean, well lit and organized, with a working sink and a (sparkling clean) public bathroom, the machines all appear to be new and high end--none of the ancient, often broken Speed Queen machines caked with decades worth of detergents and fabric softeners I was forced to deal with in the past at every other laundromat I've ever been to. There is even an automatic door so you don't have to struggle with opening the door while bringing your clothes in or out. I spoke with a few customers and they all said that the owners take good care of the place and are passionate about customer service. Let me tell you--it shows! Both my family and I were shocked by how quickly I got out of there, too! 2 hours from start to finish, and that was with six HUGE bags of laundry. Finally, in the past every time I have had items washed in a laundromat they have all had that overheated dryer "laundromat" smell. Not so here! I will definitely be back the next time I have to wash comforters and will make sure to tell my local friends about The Washery. read more

I came on the recommendation of a friend and glad I did. I have 2 King size comforters that I needed to clean. This place has giant washers to fit them- I mean giant! For $13 you can clean a comforter with soap, fabric softener, and oxy lite. A really good deal all things considered. The place is clean and pleasant. Happy washing! read more

Clean, new, effective washers and dryers! The only place I'll go now in the area. However, it's not inexpensive. Washers are about $5-$7.25so that can add up fast. Dryers are nice and hot and 2 cycles (.40 for 8 minutes I think) usually dries my items. I often don't use hot as I don't want certain clothes to shrink. That's how good the dryers are. Leave your bag of quarters at home. You'll need to obtain a free card that you fill with $ from your cash or card. There's a machine for that and an attendant during the day to help you. Your card will open the bathroom door which is otherwise locked. There are good margueritas next door while you wait. read more

Great service! A variety of soaps to wash if you drop off your clothes to be washed. Came back beautifully folded and perfectly clean.

This laundromat is super clean and everything appears new. All the washers and dryers appeared to be in working order. We had a volleyball tournament in the area and needed to wash a whole team of uniforms for the next day. It only took about 40 min from start to finish. They have 4 different size washers, that ranged from from small to super large. All the dryers are the same size but are very large and dry super fast. They have a matching that exchanges your money for a card and the card is used on all the washers and dryers. I believe a med size load of laundry was under $5 and the dryers are even cheaper. They run 8min a cycle and almost the whole load was completely dry in the first 8min but we decided to dry them one more time and both cycles cost less that $1 total. They doors lock at midnight and as long as you are inside before then you can still do laundry. The lights go out at 1:30am - 4am. read more

Unfortunately my washer bit the dust. But fortunately I had this place to finish my laundry. I was very impressed with how pristine The Washery is. All the machines are new as well - a couple 8 minute cycles was all that was needed to dry my clothes, so no wasting money on dryers that never dry. No need for a bunch of quarters, the laundromat puts cash and credit on their own cards to use (no charge for the card). I had to wash my king sized quilt which is too big for my washing machine at home, so I ventured out with 5 of my youngest kiddos in search of a place and ended up here. I have only ever been to a handful of laundromats in the past, but I have never been to such a nice clean one with such friendly staff. The lady working was so kind and helpful. There is a little ice cream shop 2 doors down you can take kids to in order to pass the time, and the waiting area has a tv with available remote to change the channel if need be. I was also relieved to find that the bathroom was nice and clean. read more

I had a white very large slip cover from my couch. I had heard some good reviews about this place so I took it over there. The owner I believe her name is Maureen was amazing. I'm new to the area and haven't been in a laundromat in a long time. The women working there was extremely helpful! Come to find out she owned this place. Her husband was there too and helped me with how to use some of their equipment. And it happened to be their 2 year Anniversary that day. The place is very clean ! And she was fantastic to all the customers. She provided paper and pens to little kids that were with their parents waiting for their laundry to be done. No choice but to use laundry mats when traveling. This place is clean and that's where the 3 stars end. They couldn't break a $20 (poor business decision) and you have to have a card to use the machines (easy to get) but then you have to carry a card around with you. I believe it's a minimum of $5 on the card so if you don't plan on coming back or if this is one trip, you're stuck with a card with money on it that you can't use. Not a fan of that. I'd rather carry change as 99% of laundry mats use coins, not cards. Place is also small so you're always bumping into someone and that gets annoying really fast. Had a laundry emergency that required us to do all our laundry at once. We have several places close by, but they are not as clean or kept up as they should be. We took everything to the Washery. The staff is very friendly. It is the cleanest I have seen. The machines are very efficient, clean. While the machines take laundry cards (like a credit card) instead of change, I did not mind as I could see coming here again. There is an automatic door one end, and a regular door at the other which makes it easy to access. I was there for a short time, but it is a somewhat busy place, which means to me, that people really like it there! They have free wifi and the bathrooms are clean. Not to mention, the stores surrounding it are pretty cool. There is a Mexican Restaurant next to it, and also an ice cream store and a pretty cool music shop called Dr. Woods Guitars. If you are in need of a higher end laundromat, I highly recommend this place. read more
