For us, their friendliness was what made this a 5 star experience. We were new to this kind of establishment, and they were kind to tell us how they run, what they do, etc. We watched some gamers battling with their cards. One pair was super kind and teaching my kids as they conducted their battle. The staff are always very nice and pleasant. They hold weekly events for all sorts of card games. Very spacious with some tables in a front and then a hallway to the back to a giant room. Can't speak for the experience as a TCG player or any other hobby, but from a collector of single TCG cards I would avoid this place. Stopped in today on a brief trip from out of state. Looked at the shelves of admittedly very cool mid-to-high-end Pokémon cards. Saw a few things pretty overpriced (a Chilling Reign Galarian Moltres V in PSA 9 for $200 among others), and finally found a PSA 8 Jungle Unlimited Flareon Holo priced at $25. I had that card when I was a kid, and $25 for a PSA 8 is an incredible deal. In April 2024 (last month), 11 of this card in PSA 8 sold for a low of $40 and a high of $60. I asked someone behind the register to see the card, and they seemed happy to sell it to me until scanning it and saying it was a $75 card, and that they couldn't sell it to me. I work in sales so I understand that businesses can't just pay out of pocket huge amounts for slip ups like that. However this card was behind a locked case meaning that a staff member made the misplacement, AND the "real" price of $75 is a 50% markup on what the market price of the card is. I've also seen plenty of reviews on Yelp belaboring the trade in value, so I can't imagine whoever owned the card originally was paid more than $25. I would've happily spoken with the staff and paid a reasonable amount for the card-- preferably somewhere around $40-$45 (the low end of recent market prices to make up for the store's mistake), but instead I got a response of "that shouldn't be there," "that's not good" and awkward glances until I left. I haven't spent enough time in the store to really rate most facets outside of the pricing and customer service, but if you're looking for TCG singles and care about business ethics, look elsewhere. read more

This place is complete trash unpleasant service from beginning to the end. Don't waste your time here they will cheat you as fast as you let them. Absolute low ballers when it comes to purchasing any type of gaming card especially Pokémon. It's 7 ppl at one counter and only 1 person greeting you. My second time coming into the store was last night (Friday), and starting out was just fine. Im always looking for places to sell my cards and if you have sold cards before to a store, you know how questionable it can be. Too many places try to rip you off as a business model nowadays. The first visit was great here - sold some magic cards and the lady who priced them up for me was fantastic. I usually already have my cards priced up before going into a place and she was consistent to the prices I had tallied up. So I brought more cards to sell last night (magic and yugioh) and a different buyer was helping me and she was great, but passed off the magic cards I had to a guy who took them and was working on getting priced for me while she finished the yugioh cards. She communicated well and I felt she did a good job and gave me a fair price. The guy only talked to me when he was finished and gave me a ridiculously low price. Maybe he was tired or maybe just lazy but more than half the cards I gave him he had piled up as Bulk and was going to give me practically zip for those. We are talking about cards that priced out for $1-$3 along with 2 unopened commander decks ($45 a piece). I mean you guys already only pay out 50% of the value which is fine but it's insulting when someone tries to rip you off like this. A store typically doubles their money at least, too many jack their prices up above market value. All I expect is to be treated fairly and don't try to undercut me. So at this point I've already sold my yugioh cards, took back more than half of my magic cards (what they called "bulk") and I'm sitting down with my daughter opening an ETB I bought from the store, not bothered by anything because I'm already used to this happening. We are getting ready to leave and I locate a trash can at the far end of the store and while I'm disposing of my trash I saw a pack of cards I wanted to get, walked over and picked up the item which was located at the end of where their counters stop. I'm not walking behind their counters or doing Anythjng wrong, it's a store and it has retail to sell, and if the shelves were behind the counters I would have asked to see the item, but the counters ended about a foot Or two before where the shelves were, allowing access to walk directly up to them. If I can get a picture I'll add it to this review. Well when I turned to walk back up towards the register and leave, the guy who was obviously a manager or supervisor was right next to me. Not thinking anything about it, I handed him my purchase saying I want to get it, walked up to the register and he rang me up. Simple transaction. Ha! The item was five dollars more than what was listed on display, to which he mumbled some excuse that he hadn't gotten around to changing it. So I paid, and asked for a receipt. Now here's where things get interesting. When he came back with my receipt, he said "Don't ever let me catch you behind my counter again." That totally threw me off because I wasn't even behind the counter, hadn't done anything inappropriate, had thought I was respectful and polite my entire time in the store. He could have simply said please don't go behind the counter or made the interaction less abrasive instead of confrontational. When I expressed my shock at the insult and insinuation that I somehow had brazenly disregarded a rule here, he offered some excuse that I didn't even bother listening to if indeed it's was an excuse, and got a caddy attitude with me over it. I've owned many businesses all in the retail and service industry, and never would I ever speak to a customer in that manner. You just don't do that and hope to keep customers like that. I can overlook being price gouged out of the cards I was selling, but not being insulted at the very end of my experience. I certainly hope the owners of the business take this review seriously (and if he is one of said owners then he should know better how to take to people). If I hadn't made several transactions already I would have taken my cards elsewhere to sell. Update: after looking through the cards I took back from them as "bulk", I starting going through each one to see if I could find any reason they would only purchase them as bulk. The first ten cards were all above $2-$3. And they wanted to only give me a nickel for each one. Pieces of trash, that's what they really are up there. Funny thing is that a good business would have responded to a bad review, and it's going on five days since I posted it in google. This place turns my stomach. read more

YuGiOh and Magic fans rejoice. Located next to a Farmers Market, this store has an impressive inventory of YuGiOh , Magic and other games. I brought my boys over on a Sunday to play some YuGiOh and I was not disappointed. They run a YuGiOh tournament every Friday and Sunday. The place is clean, cozy, comfortable, spacious and the folks that run this place is super nice. If you are a fan or seeking a special gift for that YuGIOh or Magic fan, you should come by because they have a treasure trove of rare and hard to find cards. If you have young ones that play YuGiOh, you should try the tournaments or just come to play with other players. On Sunday, there was at least 20-30 players, and you are sure to find another player willing to have duel. The atmosphere is friendly and casual. The owner takes pride in this hobby and runs a very friendly store. There are older kids and the owner will ensure the intimidation factor and cussing is kept to ZERO. It's the fifth time in the past several months I've tried to come here to draft magic on a Wednesday. Every time there's not enough people. Please say there are no longer drafts on Wednesday I've wasted so much time sitting here. It's the first Wednesday after a new set and there's still only six people. On top of that blasting rap music with bad language and a group of guys Loudly being sexist is a terrible environment. Magic is supposed to be a game for people of all ages. I'd hate kids to come in a think this is what it's like. Also release night of a brand new set. No drafts firing so if that's what you're looking for don't come here. Also even though they buy and sell singles they refused to buy my foil cards I opened because they didn't know the prices. If you enjoy listening to the employs talk to their friends instead of hurrying up and helping you. This is the place for you. read more

Formerly the Gaming Pit (or as my friends used to call it, "The Game Hole"), Wasteland Gaming is both game shop and tournament center in one. As I wrote of the Pit, the expansive space is large enough to accommodate several gaming tournaments simultaneously--the one I attended yesterday had over 100 people participating, and there was still enough space for other people to participate in other games on the periphery. The Wasteland Gaming is a wonderful place for gamers of many different varieties to hang out and have fun. The location is behind a shopping center by itself which at first may be confusing but once you realize where it is it's great due to the parking lot being huge and pretty much just for the shop. The store can hold probably around 200 people at the tables if not more. Usually on any given night there will be 20 groups each playing different formats of Magic The Gathering,Pokemon,Yugioh and various other card games. The staff here are always super friendly and willing to chat and help with selections. My only advice would be to watch out if you are more of a casual player for magic because some players act very elitist and at times egotistical but aside from that 5 stars and highly recommend checking this place out! :) read more

I had one of the best experiences I have ever had at any gaming facility here. The place offers a host of different board games as well as card games. I sold my collection to them for Magic The Gathering and they offered an extremely over the moon price (I honestly thought my stuff was worth a fraction of what I got). They took the time to go through all my stuff and explain to me a lot of stuff I didn't even know I had!!. Josh, James, and the rest of the crew are down to earth and just really cool people. I just really can't say enough about the people at wasteland gaming. I would give them a 100 stars if they allowed it but for now they will have to settle with 5. This is a great place to gather and play board games with a group of friends. There are dozens of games you can demo, and the staff doesn't pressure you to buy anything. You can chill at any of the dozens of tables and watch someone play or try a new game yourself. On weekends they have tournaments but there is still plenty of space for non-participants to play something else. They have plenty of games for purchase, but you can bring your own board games to play. Food and drinks are allowed; the place is reasonably clean and spacious. read more

They even have Mexican cokes. 2 functional bathrooms and functioning air conditioning, lots of parking. One star to many. I ordered cards online from this company. I did this for several reasons, they seemed like a smaller company, and I choose to support small business. Second because their price was fair. I placed the order and it was confirmed. Looked at the order several hours later and they cancelled it. Their reasoning, that they had an inventory issue and ran out. Really?????? They reposted the same card I bought with a higher price tag. These people are liars and a fraud. The Gaming Pit's new location is a huge improvement over its previous location; to say its roomy is an understatement, and the staff is friendly and run a clean safe place for young and old to play at. Easily accessible from I-85, the store is easily overlooked as its behind the Mall Corners mall yet inside the facility. Snacks are served, but locations to other food venue's is as close as around the corner to down the street; The club im affiliated with is the Flames of War Miniatures Game system, and while the tables are more suited for board games, there is enough room for a tournament of 50+ Miniature Gamers and their terrain and Mini's. Its the place for Atlanta Gamers of all Ilk's to get their game fixes on a weekend and the hours during the week all for other options beyond the weekend. Would love to see an Advanced Squad Leader Regional Tournament Held here, and looking forward to seeing the Game at Battlefront/Flames of War in association with Task Force A(ATL) and NATO(North Atlanta Tactical Game Organization). I went here looking to sell some old Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh! cards that were building up dust in my old room at my parents' house. I was not expecting to get a lot of money, despite the collection being solid. I got about twice as much as I was expecting, and the process was very transparent. Essentially they have a mat that they stack the cards on at different price points and you can watch while they look up the values in the computer system. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to trade in their old cards. They paid for them in cash. read more

I have played at most if not all of the Local Gaming Stores that Atlanta has to offer. This one is the best for Magic the Gathering specifically, in my opinion. The staff is friendly and helpful.
