My experience with Cambrian Springs…read more
I have never written a review before, but after my experience with Cambrian Springs and the owner Meir Cohen, I feel others should know what happened.
I later read previous reviews from customers and others describing concerns with customer service, business practices and payment. Based on those reviews and my own experience, I am concerned my experience may not be isolated.
On August 19, 2026, I participated in a trial period for a delivery-driver position. I worked approximately 7:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., performed company duties, made deliveries and operated a company vehicle. After that day, I decided the position was not for me and clearly communicated this while requesting payment for the hours worked.
Despite numerous calls and texts, I received no confirmation until August 26, 2026 only after advising that I would contact the appropriate agencies and my lawyer. Meir Cohen then acknowledged in writing that I had worked during the trial and confirmed I would be compensated.
Instead of simply resolving the payment, Meir Cohen said I would have to be onboarded through payroll and provide my SIN and other sensitive personal information, despite the fact that I had already clearly stated that I was not accepting the position or entering into ongoing employment. If employee onboarding and payroll requirements were genuinely necessary for payment, they should have been explained before I performed the trial work, not after the fact and only once I requested compensation.
He also stated that someone from his accounting/payroll team would contact me to arrange the payment, but no one did until August 31, 2026. I then asked Payroll to confirm the specific payment date and amount, and I have still received no response.
I did not consent to being onboarded as an employee and was not comfortable providing sensitive personal information given my concerns about how this matter had been handled and the repeated lack of follow-through. The entire process has created serious concerns for me about whether there was ever a clear intention to properly compensate me for the work I performed.
I asked for a straightforward payment method and offered to provide an invoice if permitted under their accounting requirements. I sent an invoice for what I believe is fair compensation because Meir Cohen refused to provide an amount and requested payment by 5:00 p.m. August 27, 2026. As of writing, I have still not been paid.
I have retained my call logs, texts, invoice and Meir Cohens's written acknowledgment that I am owed compensation.
I intend to raise this matter with:
1. Better Business Bureau
2. Ontario Ministry of Public and Business Service Delivery and Procurement
3. Ontario Employment Standards
4. Ontario Ministry of Labour
5. Canada Revenue Agency
6. Ontario Ministry of Transportation
I intend to provide them with my documentation and let the appropriate authorities review the matter.
If necessary, I will continue pursuing the compensation I am owed through every appropriate channel, including Small Claims Court, until this matter is resolved. This is not about the money--it is about principle, accountability, and being properly compensated for work that has already been acknowledged in writing
This could have been resolved very simply: pay me for the work I performed, which Meir Cohen has already acknowledged in writing.
For anyone considering working for or doing business with Cambrian Springs, do your research, read the existing reviews, and make sure everything involving trial work, compensation and agreements is documented in writing.
This review reflects my personal experience and documentation. Based on my experience, I would NOT recommend working for or dealing with this company without protecting yourself and getting everything in writing.
