I stopped in this week after a few years of absence. I ordered a chicken sandwich that cost $13.00+ and was a bit disappointing. The sandwich was good but there wasn't much chicken in it at all. And only one leaf of lettuce and a few thin slices of tomato. I'm aware of higher prices but it wasn't much even by Montclair prices. I can get a more generous and standard filling at multiple places in town where rents are just as high. It's a nice place but if you can't afford to serve a standard portion in a sandwich, don't offer them. If I were to go again, I'm sticking with a beverage. read more

This has to be one of the coolest cafes I've been to. The interior gave off hippy, beach vibes; there was ample seating by the big windows and cool antiques lined up against the walls. The cashier was really nice and suggested several drinks; ultimately, my friend and I got two lemonades-- one infused w/ lavender and one infused w/ rose. To be honest, the lemonades just tasted like regular squeezed lemon juice, just slightly sweetened. I also couldn't really taste the rose in my lemonade. Lastly, the drinks were a bit pricey ($8 each), especially since we couldn't keep the jars. I still give this place four stars though for the vibes and service. read more

This is a charming spiritual and wellness cafe that offers something I have never seen before. They do a water purification, then remineralization process using crystals. After hearing a detailed explanation, I did a "water tasting." As I have never enjoyed New Jersey tap water, the difference and improvement in taste was very evident. They offer a variety of coffees and teas, but I chose one of their Chakra elixirs which are fruit and/or vegetable infused waters. There is a cozy seating area and a small gift shop. From the time I walked in I knew I loved this place . I was greeted by Sandy at the front who is very friendly . They offer a variety of drinks elixirs, coffee also let you get a subscription to get pure water and allow you to fill it if you subscribe which I think is wonderful because the water is pure and freshly sourced . I ordered an elixir flight which is a mix of seven drinks that correspond to each chakra . It was an awesome experience everything is freshly made and they list all the ingredients ! The drinks are delicious . They do have coffee but I didn't have time to try it ( they also have sandwiches and some scones) . I love popping in here after yoga class! My favorite drink is the chai with their homemade coconut cashew. Delish and authentic! The staff here is so lovely and it just has such wonderful, positive energy. I have had their water as well, and agree that it taste better than your average H2O. I've eaten here too and enjoy the more savory dishes on the menu! They also have a great selection of crystals, jewelry, and other spiritual gifts. Came here a few weeks ago because it was one of the only cafes open early in the morning. The barista I chatted with was so kind, explaining how they filter the water and how people come from all over for the water. I have to say that my cappuccino was delicious! I was far from a fan of the dark chocolate hot chocolate with the nut milk blend, although I couldn't imagine it tasting much better with any other kind of milk as it essentially just tasted like a cashew. I digress, texture was so smooth, and the shop has a lovely atmosphere to it. But that just didn't justify spending $9 (with tip) on this drink. Thought in Motion is such a magical, inspiring, positive environment to visit while in Montclair. I look forward their expansion and the possibility of one being closer to my home. I am so grateful to my dear friend for introducing me and sharing this experience with me. They offer subscriptions to have water that is clean and nourishing. The water is filtered using a 9 step filtration system. I had attended a workshop in the afternoon and was very pleased. They do offer experiences in the evenings. I look forward to attending one in the future. They have a selection of coffees, teas, and elixirs. Also, if you are looking for a special gift for yourself or loved one, they have a selection of jewelry and hand crafted items. I love how they make their own nut milks in house for hot/cold beverages using their filtered water. It is also nice to see that they support a local coffee company. Wait until you see the coffee being filtered at the Waterbar! I enjoyed a lavender lemonade yesterday on a beautiful sunny day. It was perfectly tart and the lavender added a healing touch. This was the most fun I have had in NJ in a long time. The place is super cute- the decor is welcoming and lures you in. I met a friend there, and we shared the flight of infused water elixirs- seven of them spanning the rainbow of seven chakras, served in cute little bottles arranged in a metal tray. Visually, it was beautiful. We poured each of the little bottles into our two little cups, clinked our glasses, and then tried to figure out what these colorful liquids were flavored with by smelling them first and then tasting them. This was super fun and suitable for anyone of any age and for people who do not drink alcohol. I felt energized and stimulated by the experience. All the water in this place's drinks and food is infused with the energy of crystals. I do not care if it was the power of suggestion- it was terrific. The people who worked there were friendly and nice. This was an unforgettable experience. I plan to bring my kid next time to share a flight of these waters. I also want to try the food, which all looks good. I love chia pudding, and that is on the menu. Everything is served in little jars. The lemonade that the people sitting next to us had looked delicious. Montclair is a fun town. I go there occasionally for different reasons, but I will remember this place and stop by whenever I am nearby. Thought in Motion is a hidden gem... I can't believe this place doesn't have hundreds of reviews yet! I have been wanting to stop in here for the longest, but after months I was finally was able to make it in today. It has been calling to me..this place has such good vibes. Cool decor all over and plenty of seating and lounging areas. There's street parking as well as a lot in the back, which is extremely convenient. I sat at the Waterbar and had an amazing iced blueberry tea and got to chat with Joe (who is AWESOME) about the importance of water. He explained how their water is purified and how energy can change the form of water...I was amazed. All their drinks are made with the magical water right in the shop. You can purchase a jug for $30 and get refills for $2 after that. Aside from drinks, they have a small menu that offers food and light bites. I didn't get to try anything this time, but I will the next time I come in because it all looked so good. Aside from food and drinks, they offer "experiences". To sum it up, they are classes that help you learn about yourself and ways to improve areas of your life you feel you may be lacking in. I decided to go to the class they had today and it was only $30 for 45 minutes. Jennifer was really sweet and I actually learned some new techniques that I'll definitely implement in my day to day routine moving forward. All in all, I'm happy I actually made it in here finally. Sandy has been an absolute gem, and there is not a staff member there that will not take the time to greet you warmly and get to know you by name. They pay attention, a lost art form in the service industry. It's not just a location, it's a full experience. Their water goes through a 9 step filtration system. It is by far the cleanest tasting water you will ever have the pleasure of drinking. And this same water is used to prepare all of their drinks, so you can rest assured that the quality is top notch! They offer an array of wellness lattes, infused waters, and light bites. They even prepare their own almond, coconut, and cashew milk in house! The attention to detail and level of care is second to none. You are also more than welcome to peruse a small area of crystals, jewelry, and decor for purchase. The Waterbar is amazing. You can taste and feel the difference. A friend suggested I try giving it to my fading indoor palm tree and it rebounded after a week of their water vs the tap. Beyond the water, Sandy is so welcoming and the entire staff is wonderful. Our bodies are 70% water, so make sense, right? What's super filtered water, you ask? I had lots of questions too. I never write reviews, but this one is worth my time... I call this place a 'Spa for my soul'. Not quiet sure what is in the air or how do the friendly staff infuses so much good energy and vibes into your food, water and coffee, but you do feel it! I always seem to leave that place in a good mood. I tried my first Keto coffee there, and loved it. It is a GREAT place to go with your laptop and do some work or read because it is quiet and cozy and they have a sort of private area if I want to sit with my friends to catch up. No loud music or crowds, YAY! It is also impeccably clean, which I can't say about other near coffee shops in the area. They have a granola bar with fresh bananas bowl that is to die for! I just had the best Keto coffee at Thought In Motion. I brought my friend Ellen there, it was her first time. Ellen is a coffee aficionado and she gave it two thumbs up. It's both delicious and nutritious! It may be because the water is infused with intentions of love and health! And a 7 filter system which adds to its great taste.
