He told me nothing more then what my handy-man told me less than three days before. He did not even quote me a price for the work, he just said it was going to be very expensive and he was with the company only two months. I wondered if I should have called another company, when I asked if he liked the company? He replied, "Oh my boss is such a cool dude. I guess that is a perk to the job coming in every day." Thanks for charging me $99 for Randy to walk up and down my steps twice, take a picture. Tell me I need to close my shower curtain better, buy a new flap on my shower. And tell me about his boss being a cool dude. I tried to give them another chance: I even asked for the manager. I had a J. Williams cell phone call me back. He NOT ONLY REFUSED my coupon he issued to me, because of my one star review on Google which was posted before, he gave me my coupon. According, to the 1st time stamp which I did immediately after I received the survey. He stated, he would personally come out to my house. Then when I asked him to shut off the water valve in my Grandson's closet to my water softener tank in the panel, and wait an hour, to see if the valve moved....because I cannot physically do this, and this would at least tell us if we have H20 in the house if it moves. If it does not move no leaks. Because, I cannot physically do with medical conditions I have. He REFUSED, stated, "You know what I can tell this 2nd trip will go badly. And just HUNG UP ON ME!" I tried to give this company a chance to make it right. After they texted me, saying they would make it right. So what they say in your home, on text message, and verbally on the phone / in your face ARE ALL DIFFERENT STORIES!! DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY! THIS IS AN HONOST REVIEW! I have medical conditions and cannot physically do what they need to do, just to simply let me know if I have a leak coming from my home. They will charge you at least a $100 to $250 just to take pictures. Just Crazy! They could not even tell if my leak was coming from the upstairs or downstairs. So Ben Franklin NOT ONLY DID NOT HONOR THEIR WORD WITH MY COUPON THEY GAVE, THEY REFUSED TO JUST DO GOOD BUSINESS BY DOING THEIR JOB! THAT THEY APOLOGIZED FOR THE FIRST TIME! THEY STILL WILL NOT TELL ME IF I HAVE A LEAK IN MY HOME OR NOT....EVEN THOUGH, THIS IS THE WAY YOU FIND OUT.... JUST BAD BUSINESS! NEVER AGAIN! SO I AM LEAVING A BAD REVIEW! THE LADY IN THE OFFICE SAID THE MANAGER WAS TO BIG TO FIT IN ANY PARTS OF A SPOT IN A HOUSE AND LAUGHED ABOUT IT. Every job is plugged into a category and prices are set by category. You might have a job that takes half an hour or one that takes 2 hours, but they'll both be charged at the same (astronomic) rate. Had a leaking drain pipe under the kitchen sink. Needed new seals and maybe a section of plastic pipe replaced. Less than an hour job. Plumber came out and quoted $700. These people do not apply the $99 trip charge to repairs. After expressing outrage he lowered the quote to $400, plus the $99 trip charge. And tried to make it sound like he was doing a big favor. So $500 for a less than an hour job that even with $100 an hour for labor should have been $200 or so. I ate the trip charge and showed him the door. But if you like expensive plumbing repairs this is the place for you. No job too small to charge huge money for.

I have a specific issue that I think any future customer should be aware of before agreeing to services. If you're going to use their services - and again, I was happy with the actual service - I strongly recommend you pay by cash or check. I had chosen to pay via credit card. Their credit card handling is ... not great. I expected the technician to use some kind of processor like a square reader, but the solution at the time was to call over to their office and read out my phone # and CVV to their office staff who would process the payment. That's not a great solution and borders on unacceptable in 2026. The office staff was not answering the phone at the time that my service was completed, so the technician told me that the office staff would reach out to me the next day, which from my perspective, no big deal. Ultimately I got in touch with the office staff and paid, via reading out my card # and cvv over the phone. Again, not great. A link to a payment website would do a lot to alleviate concerns. During this call I mentioned using an onsite reader or payment website as being far preferable to reading out a card # over the phone. Here's where things start to go very wrong. Later I spoke with the owner of the company who opened the phone call in an extremely aggressive manner, claiming that I had been mean to his staff and practically yelled at me because I was unwilling to pay by credit card. I was in fact at every point during this willing to pay by credit card. I do not want to get into a he said/they said re: whether or not I was mean to the office staff there. I definitely did unreservedly apologize on the phone to the owner for any negativity in my interaction with his staff. Whether or not I was actually mean is not important to the next point, and this is the important bit: The owner told me that "If I was so uncomfortable reading my card out over the phone, I could've written down my card # and given it to his guy". Now this, this is huuugely unacceptable. Anyone familiar with the standards around credit card number storage and transmission (PCI-DSS) should know that this is a big red flag. There are specific rules for storing credit card #s, and writing it down on an invoice and throwing it on the passenger seat while you drive to the next location is definitely NOT on the ok list. I really hope that the owner was just throwing out random ideas and that this doesn't reflect a common business practice. Certainly the technician did not offer this solution, as well he shouldn't given how problematic this is. I would also emphasize that practically by definition, this company doesn't just have your card # and cvv, they also have your full address (assuming you live at the location you got service at) and likely full legal name, so this is quite a bit worse than a company storing just your credit card #. Anyway, I myself will not be using their services again due to my extremely negative interaction with the owner. If you choose to use their service, please PLEASE use a check or cash, or at least verify that their card handling processes have improved since my date of service (March 2026).
