Never fry pierogi - they should be boiled and in butter and not crunchy onions
Maria C.

A solid sub place with locals and hard working owners. But realize the pierogi are fried which is sacrilege. Stick with the subs.

Chicken Parm (small) and pierogis.

Homemade pierogi's always disappoint me. They're always just frozen pierogis that aren't as good as Mrs. T's. Not at the Waymart Deli. Nope, these things are lights out. The onions were great. The tastes were amazing. I got the butter and onion (clearly) instead of the fried. They were amazing. Three or four would make a pretty big meal for a normal guy. Great little spot. Check it out!

Great service during quarantine with curbside pickup. The cheesesteak is probably the best in the area. Buffalo chicken sub is good as well

Always trust a place that has almost 70 reviews and a near perfect 4.9 rating. The reviews don't…read morelie. New Yorkers love their delis, and if just half of them are like this one, I can see why. JJ Delicatessen has an excellent assortment of meats, cheeses and dried goods, many from European countries like Germany and Poland. My girlfriend and I ordered sandwiches on a Saturday morning. We had to wait a little over twenty minutes, and the woman advised that next time we call our orders in ahead of time because the hot sandwiches take awhile. So that's your tip for the day. But they were worth waiting for. Fairly priced, excellent quality, and came with a few sides. I got the Polish sandwich special and my girlfriend got the Mediterranean sandwich special. There is a small seating area in the deli, but we took them with us and ate them in the car. It was a great lunch that we ate right before an afternoon of hiking at High Point State Park in NJ. Highly recommend this deli!

I really wish I could rate this place higher than this, but all that comes to mind when I think of…read morethis place is 'salty.' It seems like this is something of an institution and even for first-timers like us, it's not hard to see why. It's a European-leaning local deli that is clean, well stocked with interesting goodies, and that's is a cozy dining room in the front end of the shop. The two ladies we interacted with were fairly friendly and helpful, and after an agonising few minutes looking at the menu, we decided on the Polish and Italian sandwiches (vs heroes, which are bigger, cost a bit more, and are served on a roll). What I liked was the fresh tasting pickle that comes with the sandwich. In fact, the pickle may have been my favourite thing, period. The macaroni salad and potato salad were enjoyable if not particularly memorable. Now, the sandwiches. They look great, delicious even. We could tell they were made with care. From the first bite though, so I could think was, why's this SO salty? To this day, we're not sure what the culprit(s) were. Without the saltiness, I think they could have been delicious sandwiches. Perhaps this is how the locals like it. Maybe this is some sort of traditional way to prepare these sandwiches. All I know is that it traumatised my taste buds so much that I didn't have an appetite for another meal for the rest of the day. And of course I was quite thirsty for a few hours afterwards. I hope they keep improving and stay open for many more years.
