I can honestly say that signing up classes at Bittersweet was one of the best decisions I ever made. Everyone, including the other students, are incredibly supportive and welcoming. I have been coming for over a year and I look forward to every class. As a bonus I'm stronger than I've ever been and feel great. Please keep in mind that the negative reviews posted are primarily by people who are not students at Bittersweet. They spoke with someone on the phone, were late for class and wanted money back, signed contracts without reading them, didn't want to participate in warmup (which is essential for preventing injury and performance) or wanted to be put in advanced classes without meeting the standards set by the instructors for good reason - to assure safety and prevent injury. Students wrote glowing reviews because the studio deserves them.

Her sweet bubbly personality is an added bonus. She will have you walking out of class feeling sore (in a good way) and overall accomplished. I'm hooked, and I can't wait to keep showing up and bettering my new skills with pole. If you're nervous don't be. Everyone is so supportive the entire time.Just do it, you won't be disappointed!

On Friday, we had a a private group lesson with Ballroom Dance Instructor, Antonio Frias. Let me…read moretell you from the moment I arrived, he was soooo awesome! Antonio showed me around the dance studio. It was clean, nicely decorated and I loved the disco balls hanging off the ceiling! The rest of our group joined us and we began our lesson! The first dance Antonio taught us was Bachata! Antonio explained it so well and we had sooo much fun following along! The next dance was Salsa. We started off slow then picked up some speed to go with the music. We took a break because boy! I felt like I had just done cardio LOL Our group took some beautiful pictures by the Christmas Tree. We finished it off with an awesome group dance! My friends and I had an amazing evening and WE CAN NOT wait to return! You are one super cool Ballroom dancer, Antonio!!!

I'm pretty decent, but super out of practice. Hubby on the other hand, grew up in a community straight out of the movie Footloose- ultra conservative Christian with no TV, no music, no dancing. He was permitted to play drums in symphony, but that was the limit of his musical upbringing, and he's NEVER been a dancer. That is changing. My fat ass needs to get back into shape and he needs to improve his cardio function. I HATE going to the gym and dance is my favorite form of exercise, so I purchased an introductory Groupon that includes 3 private lessons 1 group lesson and 1 dance party. We had our first lesson yesterday, and I have to give props to our instructor, Stas, who is also the owner. He sits down with you first to talk about how they run things, what you can expect, and to discover why you're there and what your goals are. He taught us basic dance steps, then taught us the basic merengue and salsa steps with a couple of turns. I was very impressed with his teaching style and look forward to many more lessons - and hope to instill a love of dance in hubby.

When my daughter turned 3 we decided to get her into a ballet studio as an intro to dance. For the…read moremost part, we had a good experience at BAC but there are some areas where the studio could improve. Positives: Staff was generally nice and knowledgable. I didn't have any issues, but I would say I would have appreciated some updates on my child in class. A simple "your child is doing well with x, but struggling with y" or "they seem to like this or not like this". The BAC community is fairly supportive at the young kids age. Parents are supportive of each other and there isn't any diva behavior. The location of the studio is pretty good and the recital is held at The Florida Theatre which is awesome. The studio has ample parking and bathrooms were clean. Negatives: The younger kids studio seems to be in a pretty old building. Some studios have more modern setups. This is in general and not specific to Jax. I wouldn't say the studio is more or less expensive than others, but I would say that there are some months with holidays that subtract a class. I feel that if you have less classes in a month you shouldn't have to pay for a full month of classes. I do also like how many other studios provide parents with two tickets to the recital albeit maybe they are not half at the best location. It is hard to support your kids with extra practice or support because where they are in terms of learning technique or learning how to dance to choreography is not communicated proactively to you. I would have loved to know where my daughter needed support to help her. Overall, I would suggest you give BAC a try. My daughter enjoyed her first dance class experience. We were likely to stick with BAC for another year and recital, but we moved away out of state. Yesterday, while at the pool we had music playing and I caught my daughter dancing to the music. She wasn't dancing ballet, but she has a love of music and I like to think that was supported and enhanced at BAC.

Our biggest complaint was that they didn't respect our preferences. Whenever we expressed concerns about things happening in class that we weren't comfortable with or inappropriate songs being played, those concerns were ignored. As a result, our young daughter got to the point where she couldn't trust the instructor and wanted to leave despite enjoying ballet.

As a matter of fact, I even told my in-laws of my first pregnancy in 1996 at dinner/before a show. I've nothing but fond memories no matter the reason for the visit nor the show that we saw. While my kids were both in elementary school, I chaperoned numerous field trips to the Alhambra, as well! I can remember seeing Winnie the Pooh $ Christopher Robin, in particular, because Pooh Bear was one of my children's favorite character. Most recently, I've visited the theatre with a large group of girlfriends! We had a blast catching up with one another and laughing throughout our meals.... And then throughout the show! I cannot remember a time that I've ever been disappointed with the dinner service, bar service, nor the presentation of the show! The only thing I could possibly complain about is that it typically seems to be ridiculously cold inside! But, lesson learned..... I now take a jacket or sweater with me. Looking forward to many many more dinners & shows at the Alhambra! It is most definitely a MUST DO outing!

Acting was great for 1776. The food was good. Everyone at the table liked what they ordered. The seats are pretty uncomfortable. Do not sit at a table of 6. Table of 4 and on the aisle or open space. Much worth it. I felt kinda chlaustrophobic at the beginning of the show. All of this said. I would totally go back at a more open spot.
