First, I'll share some context. Our company is a growing Austin based startup. We were looking for…read morea production house to execute what would be a complicated shoot. It involved set design for multiple locations, many actors, product shots, voice-over, motion graphics, and much more. The project from the get-go was a logistical nightmare with a short execution window of under two months to map-out, script, casting, shooting, editing, and delivery of multiple assets for various formats. Another side note is I used to be on the same end like them, with a production house of my own, so I scrutinize way more than most since I know how it all works. Enter Beatt Productions. I had the pleasure of having worked with them in the past on other complex but smaller in scale productions, which they had beautifully executed. The reason I chose them time and time again is their ability to quickly take on a project and adapt to just about any scenario. In our case, having such a short production timeline would have deterred others but, Colin and his team didn't flinch. Items we thought were going to be a no-go, they were always willing to come with a solution rather than concerns. The only problem we had was my team and I not being able to keep up with their level of execution. Even then, they kept us on track, on schedule, and budget. We even changed direction on one of our scenes last minute, and they were more than accommodating. Pricing is also fair. They are in no way a cheap shop with a few pieces of gear type of operation. They cost a bit more, but they are still less expensive than most large production companies due to their small team. I can attest as I've put cost overvalue a few times and had to eat that in the long run. They've had to have them save me a few times. Overall, I'm pleased with their level of execution, quality, story, and attention to detail. I highly recommend!

No surprise to find that the Austin studio has the best equipment. Online booking is easy. Studio management is on point, and there is plenty of parking! This is the worst drone service I have ever interacted with…read more Omid is the most immature person I have ever spoken to. I searched for drone services in Austin and Mavrik Pictures shows up. I give the number on the website a call and Omid who sounded like he woke up from a nap picks up. I ask him about his drone services and he asks when I would like to shoot. We schedule it a few days ahead. He says there will be a $200 deposit and he would send me the invoice in a day or two. Two days later, he sends the invoice which I gladly paid first thing in the morning the day before the shoot. My flight from a speaking engagement got delayed by a day and I was at the airport trying to get to Austin as soon as I could to make this shoot. I texted him 3am in the morning. I finally get in town and tried to call him again around 7am then tried at 8am. He picks up, and says he just saw my text. I told him I could power through it but I was exhausted and would like to reschedule. He explodes over the phone, calling me selfish several times, and yelling and interrupting me, telling me he had to drive his team from Dallas (just a reminder that his business and location of business shows Austin), and how he's made "such a big sacrifice" by not asking for 50% of the deposit and using good drones. I got really frustrated and told him that's not how anyone speaks to me, and if we want to reschedule and work together, then we have to speak with each other with respect. He was constantly interrupting me because he knew he misinterpreted the situation and he was in the wrong for not communicating that his team is actually based in DALLAS. Then threatened me to pay the entire fee even if I cancel (even though I didn't ask for cancellation but a reschedule) saying "My team will go to the location and you better be there and if you don't show up I'll see!" Word of advise don't use this service.

They clearly know how to properly record everything (including hidden mics for ceremony, even the musicians!) and - IMO, even more importantly - understand the importance of handling the footage and recording well over the necessary amount in case you want even more video later on. On the day of they were great at staying low-key and still efficient at grabbing people quickly for important shots post-ceremony, etc. Very reasonable pricing, and they're willing to accept full payment after the wedding in case of last-minute budget crunches (they film everything day of but won't send you video until after payment (duh)). 2nd Generation Video was one of the *very* few things that I actually feel like was worth the final price and that's saying a lot when it comes to weddings.
