But when that was done we realized it had been about 35 minutes. No food. A waiter comes by and asked if we had the pancakes. We said yes. He told us they were out because a football team came in right before we did and ended up ordering like all they had for the day. You can't make this up. So I asked ok but where's the rest of our food? I'll check on it he said. So I leaned over to the table next to us and ask if they were still waiting on their food since they had been there a while also and they said yes did you also order the pancakes? Lol We laughed and said yeah but we should get the rest of our food no? they ended up leaving. About 10 minutes later another waiter comes and asked if the manager had spoken to us. Nope just a waiter. So he goes to get him. He comes back 5 minutes later cause the manager was helping to cook and would be with us soon. So we def in well over an hour now. Manager finally comes and is the most apologetic he could possibly be. Told us straight up our other food was never made and he would make it right now. And he would comp our meal. So that was already a really good turnaround. But when he brings the food out he also brought us a rack of pork ribs because the initial employee we talked to told him about us wanting to try the pork ribs another time and he just gave us some. Could really not have asked him to have done more to make up for everything. That alone will make me return to this location a lot. What I probably loved most, though, was eating all this in that environment, with the Texas-American paraphernalia hanging on the walls and a radio station playing nothing but 80s and 90s country music over the speakers--the years when I loved country the most.
