The Well food hall Never knew this place existed, which honestly tracks--this city hides its best food the way it hides affordable rent. Even your picky-ass worse half (you know, the one who "isn't hungry" but steals your fries) will find something to shut them up. People around me keep saying this place rocks. I assume they're telling the truth because no one says that unprompted unless they're either impressed or three drinks deep. The options are absurd: Caribbean, burgers, sushi, poke, Korean, fried chicken--basically every cuisine that's ever helped someone make a bad life decision at 11 p.m. If commitment scares you, congratulations, this place enables that. And yes, there's a bar planted right in the middle like a glowing altar to poor judgment. If getting properly krunked is your thing, you're already home. The only crime? It closes around 9:30 p.m. For fuck's sake. A place this good has no business tucking itself in like it's got a dentist appointment in the morning. Definite must-try. Come hungry. Leave full. Regret nothing--except showing up too late.
The Well is an architectural masterpiece! I absolutely love the design--the way it blends covered and uncovered spaces makes it feel open and connected to the city while still being comfortable. The food court (Wellington Market) is a highlight; it's open, airy, and doesn't feel like your typical cramped mall basement. There's a fantastic collection of shops and a great variety of dining options that make it a perfect spot to spend an afternoon. Whether you're there to shop or just grab a meal, the whole environment is very welcoming and impressive.
Tip: When you park at The Well, take a ticket. You can pay at kiosks everywhere, online by scanning the QR code on the ticket, or at the gate before you leave. For the longest time, I heard about The Well through friends. I had no idea what it was until I asked. I recently visited National, an bowling alley-arcade-bar establishment on the Upper Ground level of The Well. The Well is an outdoor mall. It has The Wellington Market, which is the food court. It also has a lot of shops and restaurants. The Well is on the northwest corner of Spadina Avenue and Front Street West. It's convenient to get here by taking the Spadina 510 streetcar. I came from Mississauga after work on a Tuesday. I drove on Front Street West heading east and made a left to park at The Well. I took my ticket and paid on my way out. I parked on P1. I took two separate elevators to get to National, which is on the Upper Ground level. I like that it's built for accessibility. The design is a bit strange having to take two different elevators to go up two levels. Parking rates are good for downtown Toronto. The daily max is $20 from 6 am to 6 pm. I do like the stores that The Well has. Indigo. Crumbl. Shoppers Drug Mart. Chatime. I have a lot more to discover, but I do like the mix. As with most developments downtown, there are condos and residences above the shopping and dining floors. It's convenient if you live in one of these places to come down for a bite to eat or shop before heading back home. As mentioned, the design takes getting used to. Elevators and escalators are found on opposite ends of this mall. See stairs? You'll be near the elevators and escalators. I didn't have a lot of time to check out the restaurants. What I did notice is that all entrances for eateries face the street, outside of the atrium. It's different. I'd like to go back and spend more time at The Well. I was there in the early evening, so I squeezed in as much as I could. I need to spend a casual day here of shopping, dining, and more. I like different. The Well is special because it's different. It's a nice addition to the downtown core. (182)
Great open air concept entertainment and shopping complex. Beautiful architecture! The Wellington dining complex is lovely with great shops, gym coffee shops and many high end fast food kiosks such as Bear Steak, Honestly Good Chicken, Etc.
I really love the market at the well. Some of the best local spots in the city are featured there. For tourists who can only be at the downtown core, it's pretty great for options. I ended up satisfying my cravings by having my favourite taco from Gus Tacos (fried fish). They would do better with more seating options and washroom locations. I think also having food events there would be fun, it's such a convenient spot and plenty to choose from. It's definitely going to be a regular spot for me.
The Well located near Spadina and Front is an outdoor shopping mall with a huge food court (called The Wellington Market), shops, and restaurants. There is also a fitness boutique (Sweat and Tonic), as well as Arcadia Earth (an immersive art experience) located at The Well too. There are also multiple residences and condos above the shopping mall. The mall can be quite impressive the first time you go visit, however, the design of the mall gets quite confusing as elevators and escalators are only found at opposite ends of the place where you have to walk to either end to go up or down a level. Not all stores are fully occupied at The Well (I'd say less than half) where finding the restaurants can be confusing (all the restaurant entrances are located outside the atrium, not inside). Overall, they currently have decent stores located at The Well. The only real downside of The Well is the overall design of the place.
A pretty cool outdoor shopping mall with a big food court and lots of nice food choices. It's an amazing place in the Front St and Spadina neighborhood. You can easily spend a good half day, or even a full day, for shopping, eating, or simply just looking around there. Stylish architectural structure for nice IG photos. In terms of eateries, unlike common food court found in GTA shopping malls, they have quite a number of specialty stores available there. All in all, it is an interesting place you can easily spend some good time there during weekend with friends and families.
Parking garage is not cheap for shopping. The garage goes below ground here as well. Parked on P3 B. Saturday and Sunday flat rate is $15. Not so great to have to park to shop at all. It's mostly cold today and the majority of the shop is outside. It's an outdoor mall. Only the food court is inside. No one seems to know how to get to the shopping entrance at all. The food court isn't too bad, a variety of options to choose from for sure.
Awesome venue in the lower 3 floors of a large residential/office building. Great shops, great casual dining options, supermarkets. Loved the back area with bowling, games, two bars. When I am back I will mos def come here.

The Well is an open-air mall in the heart of downtown. The setting reminds me of the open-air malls in some cities in Europe (especially Germany) and California. Vendors include apparel stores, furniture stores, health clinics, fitness and wellness centre, and lots of great food selection (ranging from high-end restaurants and cocktail bars, to cafés and a food hall / food court with global choices that are superior to other mall courts). The supermarket at the lower level is pretty good - small but has all the basic essentials, including fresh produce and wide selection of international products (pasta and sauces from Italy, ingredients to make sushi, imported snacks, etc.). There are also grab-and-go items such salads, inari pockets, overnight oats with nuts and berries, chia seed puddings, etc. There is also a 24/7 convenience store (Aisle 24) that is cashier-less. Wellington Market Food Hall (the food court at the lower level) has a great and eclectic selection of foods from all over the world: Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese, Caribbean, Middle Eastern, Canadian, Mexican, Indian, fusion, and everything in between. The popular vendors are Blue Claw (for their lobster rolls), Uncle Tetsu (for Japanese cheesecake, including special seasonal flavours), Samosarie (for their colourful bite-size samosas with SO MANY different types of creative fillings), Japadog, to name a few. For those wanting a different entertainment experience, Arcadia Earth at the terrace / upper level provides a unique Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) experience with the theme of promoting Earth's sustainability. Each room / section transports you to a different world or ecology habitat, and brings forth a different type of environmental issue to tackle. You can either download the app using your phone or tablet, or borrow one of their iPads on site. The whole experience takes about 1 hour. Sometimes there are also pop-up events at the lower level, with music and different vendors.
Acting as tour guide for some friends visiting from out of town, we made our way downtown to The Well to meet up with some other friends. It was my first time going there and I couldn't help seeing some architectural similarities to Hay's Galleria in the UK. Maybe it was the open spaces, the indoor-outdoor feel of the place, architectural features. Look it up... After exploring for a bit, we had lunch in the food court. With lots of choices, we had a Roast Beef meal and a Roast Pork meal from The Carvery. Both were very good, and at decent prices. Others decided on Fish Tacos from Hooky's, along with items from other vendors. We were all happy with our choices. After lunch, a couple from our group went to see Arcadia Earth, an artsy exhibit/show, while the rest of us wandered around, exploring The Well. Nice place. The Well is so lively during the summer. Dropped by the weekend and they even have dance lessons out in the open! Check their calendar of events. The only issue is with our Canadian weather, an open concept mall like this is tough during the colder months. Really quiet during the colder months and who really wants to hang outside for too long. However, during the summer it's a great gathering place with a decent food court, fitness centre activities like Arcadia Earth and National. You can even get some fresh produce and flowers too from Little Harvest Market. read more
My parents and I visited some of the stores and had dinner before going to Princess of Wales to watch The Outsiders. The Wells is a short covered street with some trendy stores and food options. It reminds me a bit like the Eaton Centre but smaller and relatively newer. It has a bit of an industrial, rustic and contemporary vibe. Food we got: - Chicken Greek Salad from LiLi - Veggie Rolls from Kao Kang - Combo 2 from Szechuan (Choose your own: Shanghai Noodles, green beans and mushroom, spicy shrimp) Chicken Salad and the veggie rolls are on the healthier side of things. The veggie rolls were pretty expensive, especially for 6 pieces. The salad and Szechuan options were delicious and pretty good. read more

It's a nice outdoor shopping mall on the intersection of Spadina and Front Street. It's both accessible by TTC and if you drive here, they have a spacious parking lot which is very convenient. They have a flat rate of $15 for weekends and holidays that's fair. Most of the stores, specially on the third floor haven't opened up yet. And I hope the Food Market opens up soon enough; that would make this place much much busier. I loved Indigo; you can find books and collections here that other Indigo stores don't sell. read more

Cool outdoor mall. I like the artwork in the middle. It reminded me of some of the malls you see in New York. Here you will find residential and offices along with some dining options. It is located near the center of downtown. read more

Today is the grand opening! Lots of local establishments and some that are new to the Toronto food scene. Everything is brand new with lots of seating. Need some groceries? Pop by the specialty food shop. Interested in seafood? There's fish and chips and also lobster rolls. Looking for Chinese food? They have it. Just need a burger? They've got you. Bubble tea? Yep. The one place that really caught my eye was the Japadog. I've only had that in Vancouver and it's always been a go-to when visiting the west coast. I personally think there should be more variety. There are too many places for various beverages and sweets. I'm biased since I much prefer savoury. I would've liked to see Belgian fries or a poutinerie. Maybe down the road! Dog friendly! Bring your fur kid(s)! read more
The latest outdoor mall in the heart of downtown Toronto. It offers a robust food court, new restaurants, a market and local shops here. The architecture is beautiful and spans across 7.7 acres. There's residential suites above, and also has office spaces. The space really seems to be a one stop shop for people living in the area. You have the sweat and tonic workout classes here, a small grocery store, restaurants, and a food court. They really have everything for everyone. A great additional landmark for Toronto and definitely a great space to check out. Curious to see how it'll be in the winter when the snow hits, as I can see it being a huge wind tunnel since it's outdoors. read more
Visited the well chatime location and all went well! Located at the lower level in the wellington market. Service was quick & easy. They also have a self serve kiosk to order from. The chatime spot is quite small but plenty of seats in the food hall to grab a seat! read more
It was a nice sunny day so it was good to visit this new marketplace. I can already imagine in the winter time there won't be as many people visiting except the food market as the shops have their own doors and you still have to access them through open air mall. Even though the builder was smart to at least put a roof to block rain and slow, but without doors in winter time it's still not catered to Canadian weather, lots of wind tunnel effect will blow people a lot. Lots of people were in the food market area underground level, I guess it's probably due to the place just opened recently. There are a lot of options to choose from, good to go through them. I had some ox tail and chocolate sample only as I was not hungry, ox tail regular menu set seems reasonable, I'll definitely try for the good value. Haven't really experienced other services, but generally pretty friendly. read more
