I'd like to apologize up front the length of this, but there is so much to say about the Wellness Connection. I've just had my 8th visit with Dr. Anthony Pasek. I've known that I've had type 2 diabetes for around eight years now. Probably had it earlier, but I was a head in the sand kind of guy... I'll be 70 in October '19 and figured I needed to make a commitment to a proven plan to take me well into my retirement and not be hindered by diabetes. After my wife and I attended a Wellness Connection seminar on type 2 diabetes at the Chesterfield Spaghetti Factory, my wife and I decided that this might be a good choice. So we signed up for a private consultation, with the fees waved from the seminar. This was one of the best evenings I've had in many years in many ways. This has been one of the best decisions I've made in many years! Now into week eight and I've been following their food regimen, AND no calorie counting! Just a wide range of food available anywhere and I never feel hungry. For me they've started me out at gluten and dairy free; and of course off all added sugars/sweeteners etc. I thought this might be hard to do, but it's not been that hard and my wife and I are feeling wonderful, more energy etc! I have a long way yet to go, but my morning fasting blood sugar started out in the 220 range. It's now in the 120's! WOW My blood pressure has also gone down from around the mid 140's / 90 to around 120 / 70... Again, WOW! This was a side benefit for me. Let me say that I'm not a small guy; 6'-1" and started this process at 265# just after Thanksgiving. I'm now down to 240# and 3" to 4" off my waist as well. Dr. Anthony said that this is NOT a plan for weight loss, but did expect when eating right that I would lose some weight based on my size and starting weight. I have about four more months of the Wellness Connection process and I'm so happy that we made this decision. I say "we" because you will need to have internal support. Even though my wife is not on the plan, she's still losing weight right along with me and feeling better then she has in many years. I would highly recommend the Wellness Connection if you're suffering from diabetes and would like help. They are a TOTAL Wellness Connection from chiropractic, diabetes and hormone therapy. I'm sure that I'm missing many other areas of treatment available too. I have many friends with type 2 diabetes and they're all on medical drugs to lower their blood glucose levels. Many have started out with just a "little" medication and have passed on to higher and higher dosages with some entering the need for insulin injections. I feel, believe, that the Wellness Connection is treating my route cause of my diabetes rather than just throwing a Band-Aid on it and letting me go back to doing what I was doing before. I might still be eating all the things that got me here in the first place. This was NOT the path I wanted to take. We have two grandkids and I want to have many more healthy years with a quality of life to spend time with them and do what I like to do. Oh, one last thing. With the testing they do up front, trust me on this, they have MANY tests done and one of mine has indicated that my hormones are out of whack. Whack is a technical term. I also have good/bad bacteria reversal in my gut and we're working on that as well. You cannot believe how thorough they are and patient oriented. I'm a retired carpenter. I have used my body as a lever and fulcrum for over 40 years. Needless to say, I have enough logged chiropractic hours to draw a pension.I would get 30 second adjustments over extended periods of time but never got over the hump to where I felt I was healing. I have been a patient since The Wellness Connection opened 11 yeara ago and it is soley because they are phenomenal!! I have never been to a "medical facility" or anywhere for that matter where after the first visit they know you by name every time you walk in the door... I wish I could give this place ten stars. Every single person who works there are genuine, funny, awesome people. As soon as you walk in the door you're greeted by multiple people who ask about your life and seem to really care about forming a friendship with you. This place is unlike any other health facility I've ever been to. I don't know what drug they're all on, but whatever it is, I want it. They're all very nice, 100% genuine people who always have a smile on their faces. You walk in the door and instantly feel at home. I had a full year of visits to correct issues I had. I only have to do maintenance visits now, which I slack on and still feel great.
