Stayed here while attending work conference. The conference was all at the hotel in their ballrooms on the 2nd floor. Let me begin with the check in and check out, I had the pleasure of Phil taken care of us, and he is just a ray of sunlight! He was so friendly, very helpful and just left a great impression on us! Also, have to shout out the serving staff during our lunches, cocktail parties and dinners! Again, so pleasant and friendly! The hotel is nice. Clean and secure. You must use your key card on the elevator to get to your floor. There was a great bar in the main lobby, where again, service was spot on I normally stay at Hilton hotels, but if I had travel back to the area I'd definitely stay here again. Loved the location! The room was on the small side, but the city view was nice. Room did have a refrigerator and safe in it. Room was clean. Shower pressure was nice! For hotel, wedding style buffet food, I'd have say the food was good! It stayed hot, they kept everything full. Ordered room service as well and the food was just as enjoyable! read more

The Westin Charlotte exceeded all of my expectations. I chose this hotel for its convenience to the convention center, where my conference was being held, but it ended up being one of the highlights of my trip. The hotel is fabulous, and the staff at check in were fantastic, telling me about local attractions and recommending bars to visit in the evening. I ultimately decided to stay at the hotel and experience the hotel bar while enjoying a late-night snack, and I am so glad I did. The food is stellar and far exceeded what I expected from hotel dining. The rooms are spacious, and the Heavenly Bed always puts me to sleep and leaves me waking up refreshed. I also appreciated that the room has electrical outlets and charging options everywhere, making it incredibly convenient to keep all of my devices powered throughout my stay. My favorite amenity, though, was the gym. It is huge and offers a wide variety of free weights, strength machines, cardio equipment, and even TRX bands for a more complete workout. Having such a well-equipped fitness center made it easy to stick to my routine even while traveling for business. The hotel really made attending my conference effortless and helped me stay on track with both my professional and personal needs. This hotel is definitely a keeper for all of my future stays in Charlotte. read more

I had a pleasant stay at the hotel, though my digital key was not working and the manager had to override it. Lines were extremely long, and it took a long time to check into the room. I could definitely see that the hotel is showing its age, since some of the elevator buttons on the 11th floor, where I stayed, did not work, so I had to use another call station. Elevator indicators were not properly functioning, but the elevators still worked fine. Luckily, I had Bonvoy points to use toward my stay, which definitely helped offset the costs. This place does not have a spa, which is my only complaint for an upscale Westin hotel. I wish there were one on the hotel property. read more

I had a pleasant stay at The Westin Charlotte. The company I work for had a hotel block since we were attending a conference across the street at the Charlotte Convention Center. Therefore, I wasn't guaranteed a specific type of room. CHECK-IN Upon check-in, the front desk attendant was friendly and was able to my room keys (including Mobile Key) taken care of. LOBBY The lobby is a lot smaller than I imagined but it looked clean. And they had a coffee shop and restaurant (Dogwood) on the premises. ROOM I made my way up the beautiful elevators to my room, where I was surprised to see 2 queen beds. Again, with the hotel room blocks, we weren't guaranteed a type of room - I was hoping for a single king bed room so I'd have more space. It was a decent room with standard amenities. I would have preferred a glass door instead of shower curtains but it was fine. I did like the large shower head and the extra adjustable shower hardware. One thing to note is it was a little hard finding the on/off switch for the lamps. BATHROOM They have Scott tissue single-ply tissue paper. I wish they would upgrade to better toilet paper but that's what you get here. Crumbly, thin toilet paper - yuck. There is, however, a CVS or Whole Foods nearby if you want to buy premium toilet paper. On a positive note, they have shampoo, conditioner, and body wash (also a soap bar, makeup wipes, and body lotion) available in case you forget to pack yours. The vents on the blowdryer in my room was disgustingly filled with dust. Also, personally, I wasn't a fan of the layout of the toilet to sink - just weird IMO. And the light switch is outside of the bathroom. BED Comfortable. Firm pillows that stay firm. Comforters with duvet cover. Loved the thickness of the comforter and I liked that it wasn't so hot. EXTRAS They have room-service available; however, it's a service I did not need during my stay. I did, however, get to have breakfast from the Executive Lounge (3rd Floor). The patio up there is quite lovely. I did use the mini fridge to keep my drinks cold. VALET They have valet parking available here with a convenient round-about. This is the safest spot to have an Uber or Lyft driver pick you up from - as one Uber driver let us out on the busier side of the hotel. SERVICE The service from the staff I encountered were friendly employees. I purchased a bottle of SIMPLY lemonade from the coffee shop downstairs only to see it was past the expiration date! I went down to exchange it and they were very nice about it. I even helped them take out all the expired bottles - yikes! LOCATION What I loved about The Westin was how easily accessible it was to the Convention Center. You can use the connecting bridge from the 2nd floor or just walk across the street. And it is walking distance to many restaurants in Downtown - or what locals refer to as "Uptown". Overall, I had a restful sleep and my room was clean. I would recommend changing out the toilet paper and cleaning the blow dryer vents. Lastly, I would recommend checking the expiration dates on the products being sold. I guess I expected more from The Westin. Charlotte, however, was a lovely city. 3.5 / 5 stars read more

I love staying at Westin's! The hotel itself is large, very clean, and in a prime location, uptown Charlotte. A very walkable location, as there are plenty of restaurants, other hotels, and a few blocks from the panthers stadium. There is a restaurant/bar and coffee shop located in the lobby if you get hungry or thirsty. I got a room with a king size bed, and it had a full sized couch in there, the width of the wall; which i don't think I've ever seen in a hotel room. The showers were a nice and the water stayed consistently hot. The room was a nice size and there was more than enough room for me to be comfortable. The beds are always extremely comfortable and i go to sleep immediately once i get in; and especially if i use the complimentary lavender to assist in sleeping. Hotel staff was very nice and helpful. Check in and out was smooth. I also messaged hotel staff to request late check out and they were extremely responsive and accommodated my request. I also was able to get a $15 credit for room service and/or any food/drinks downstairs. If the price allows, lol i will definitely stay here again when i come back to Charlotte. read more

I was here for a work conference and stayed two nights. Service was great. I am a Marriott Bonvoy member so was very happy my company chose this hotel. The hotel was fairly busy with guests all around because there was a convention happening there during my visit. Nevertheless, checking in and out procedures were fairly seamless. I enjoyed the room, although I admit that I wasn't there much during my stay because of all my meetings. The Heavenly Bed is always a plus. And I loved the shower wand -- now I'm looking for one for my shower at home. On my next visit, I would definitely do valet parking because self-parking was a hassle. read more

I was made to feel very embarrassed and uncomfortable by a security guard that insinuated that was homeless or something to that effect as I sat in the lobby. Bothering nobody, I got questioned because "a problem upstairs" yet I'm downstairs. The hospitality stopped after check in, where some people were given a bottle of complimentary water, but I guess the poor looking ones don't get the same courtesy. If I could go to another hotel I would. The security team ruined very special weekend for me. It's hard to get a good rest when you're anxious and uncomfortable because you feel unwelcome in the hotel you spend $$$$ for. I'm a marriott diehard and road warrior. Despite renovations in progress in the lobby the rooms were subpar. Upon arriving to check in i walked into hundreds of people to a make shift check in desk which were attending a corporate gig in then y. It was absolutely way too loud and could not hear the marriott staff due to the noise level. Once I got checked in... and got to my room it was decent but it was not satisfactory. My toilet would randomly flush. Even though i was 7 rooms down from the elevator i heard it constantly 24/7. I could barely shower since the drain was clogged and would overfill 3 minutes into showering. I would not recommend The Westin Charlotte point blank. Not a good experience and poorly slept which takes it down to 2 stars. Overpriced and doesn't deliver. read more

The Westin Charlotte had a great location downtown so I was excited to be able to walk to most of the places I wanted to go (Whole Foods, my office, dinner, etc). The check-in process was exceptionally easy as they offer the mobile check-in and mobile-keys so I never even needed to stop by the front.. I just used my phone the entire time. The lobby was big and spacious and once up to my room, I was pleased with the cleanliness and that it was updated overall! The two things I didn't love about my stay were the gym and the security. Each day while I stayed seem to have some issue going on where security were called and I wondered how safe it actually was. My team members also noticed the issues with security and safety which didn't help with my confidence. On the gym, it is nothing like what is shown in the photos as it's closed for renovations. In the interim, they are offering a make shift gym with a couple of free weights and then a treadmill/ bike OR you can get a day pass and walk to the YMCA. I didn't love either of these options and ended up paying to go to another gym. All in all, this is a hotel I would stay in again if traveling for work as the location is good and I was able to work around the two issues. read more

Chinziest "upscale" hotel ever! Won't give you anything for free except a bar of soap. Here for a conference. It had: clearly cheap towels tiny towel for bath or shower (see pic) shower knob broken so had to take a bath to wash hair -- fortunately a nice bath tub except had grit along the bottom to prevent slipping, presumably, so kneeling on grit painful (see pic) no water container anywhere for guests nor any bottles in the room no coffee supplied for guests at any point during conference (some available at skimpy breakfast, removed quickly) no drawers for clothes: the two drawers in room filled with 1)empty refrigerator and 2)coffee contraption no free internet if not a westin member expensive parking Cheap coffee contraption that have to take out to plug No area in closet to hang long dresses, only half size hanging area, and even that bumps into safe (see pic) During conference, no paper, pads or pens supplied; been to dozens and dozens of such conferences of this sort, never once didn't have coffee, water, pads of paper. This has to be the chinziest hotel ever. My company hosted a small conference here and so my review will reflect both my overnight stay experience and how the hotel handled the conference activities. Service was great! Attentive, kind, subdued. Food catered for the conference was quite good and they were very accommodating for the few vegetarians we had in attendance. Also, Perrier was an option for beverages and that helped keep me hydrated throughout the days. As for my stay, I am an elite member so I was able to get upgraded to a high floor, so the view was lovely, though there was some construction going on in the area during my stay. And they have nice amenities such as lavender oil for sleeping well and makeup removal wipes and even a sleeping cap. There are two negatives that I'll just mention here. First, when a room doesn't have good air movement or get cool enough, I don't sleep well. This hotel does not have fans for guests to borrow during their stay and while the thermostat could be set low, the room couldn't actually get all that cool, so I slept quite poorly. With that being said, this situation, unfortunately for me, is not uncommon across many hotels. So I don't grade them too harshly as long as the A/C can at least remove the humidity in the air, which room could do, though my stay was not in the middle of summer which would put this to the test. Second, and this is a small thing but it's significant because of the impression it left.l on me. The shower in my room had both a rain shower and hand held wand as options. On my first night, when I went to turn on the shower, the setting for the shower had all water flowing to the handheld wand and it was turned to spray directly at my face, so I was unpleasantly shocked when a full spray of cold water hit me in the face! All hotels that have this option should inform their staff to ensure that the shower is turned to only flow out of the rain shower head, and not the handheld wand when they perform housekeeping duties. On a high note, the water pressure and temperature was great, especially with the rain shower head that I think requires additional pressure to feel nice. In general, this hotel was clean and and wasn't rundown. The elevators were working and nicely designed with the highly reflective doors, which was a nice touch. Also, the restaurant is actually quite good. We ate there once and the Service was good, the ambience chic, the cocktails interesting and tasty, and the food was above average, though not the most amazing. But definitely better than most other hotel restaurants I've patronized. I need to do a separate review for that. All in all, I'd consider coming back for a stay in Charlotte, though I might shop around to find one that can get cool enough to help me sleep better. But I do highly recommend them to handle a small conference of 20-30 people, as I think they did a great job for us. read more

Love this hotel! We stayed here for TWELVE nights for the world's longest meeting, and I would have stayed at least one night longer, the experience was so pleasant. All staff were professional and welcoming, every single one. The restaurant had amazing breakfast - we had the buffet four mornings and the other days worked our way around the menu. All food was cooked with love, and especially the French toast and the grits The bar handled nightly random assortments of people with finesse, and the drink prices were the same as nearby bars. read more

3.5/5 experience. The valet staff did really well navigating a lot of vehicles coming in for the concert we attended. The hotel staff got us right into the room we reserved without any issues as well. The room itself aside from the bathroom was generally clean; however,the bathroom appeared to have not been touched from the last tenancy...with used washcloths still hanging in the shower. Yikes. We'd probably be at a 4 or 4.5 if we didn't run into this issue. The bed itself was good for at least one of us, ha. So, if you like a more firm mattress you're in luck. If not, then probably ask for more pillows to use or attempt the sofa (if you have one). There were plenty of options to eat and enjoy around the area where you could walk, which made it nice to leave the vehicle through our entire duration. Stars solely for location and proximity to convention center. Overpriced and unaccommodating. It seems like they are undergoing renovations, but in the meantime they are not making any concessions or giving any discounts to guests for the awkwardness and inconvenience. The rooms are tiny. Shared a room with two double beds and we were practically on top of each other. Only two small, basically unusable drawers. Room service is delivered in a to go bag with plastic utensils, disposable boxes, and no condiments. The "fitness center" is a box... smaller than the hotel rooms. It has three treadmills, three peleton bikes, some dumbbells and med balls , and a bench. That's it. I was in there at 6am with 5 other conference attendees and we were on top of each other too. Super disappointing. Since I couldn't wait all day for an available cardio machine, I figured I would take the stairs up to my room on the 20th floor. Nope, can't do that either. I may go to the YMCA for tomorrow mornings workout... read more

Change the sheets! I can't believe for a "four star hotel" ~$250 a night, they didn't change the sheets (but made the bed, trying to pass it off as clean). It took over an hour to finally get a resolution. I was moved to a different room, where the sheets appeared clean. I would never stay at another Westin. You don't get complimentary breakfast, either. It's just unbelievable, especially while COVID is resurfacing, that they'd leave rooms nasty. When I first called down, a man brought linens up to me and tried to hand them to me, as if I was going to do it. For $250 a night, I am paying for someone else to! Stayed here as a guest for work for 1 night. Our company rented one of the banquet halls for a function and hosted all the out of town employees here. The hotel is right in town with a parking garage where you can self or valet park. The interior of the hotel is extremely nice, very upscale and made staying there for the work event feel a little more special. I had a room on the 8th floor and it was extremely spacious with a great view of the city. I can't really speak to much more of the room as it was a place for me for me to change clothes and sleep as I had an early flight the next day. From what I saw and my brief experience, I would love to stay at this or another Westin again. I did sign up for the Mariott Bonvoy free progam, so who knows, maybe I will. read more

We were met with dogs on our floor which was not pleasant because it barked all day and night. Other guests reported. Such a positive experience @ the Westin! Room was ready early for us. We had a lovely breakfast at the restaurant within the hotel, as well as some drinks at the bar. The staff was so friendly and kind. The parking situation is ideal where the garage is attached to the hotel. They have self park and valet options. The garage has complimentary electric chargers in the garage as well for EVs. Definitely would recommend if looking for a hotel that's centrally located in Uptown. They do not allow modifications, if you cancel you will not receive a refund. Front desk staff was friendly, however no one notified me of the incidental charge of $66.75 - while looking at my bank statement I found this charge. The room was clean and comfortable. The bed is firm which I loved! The bedding was just 4 flat sheets - I requested a blanket to have something a little extra (a fleece blanket was brought to my room). I was on the 10th floor, in a corner room, had two large windows and able to see uptown which was nice. The hotel is within walking distance of so much!! The shower had a rainfall shower head and a handheld, they also offer bodywash, conditioner, and shampoo which smelled so good!! I assumed a hotel of this stature would have a smart TV with apps - I was wrong. If you park your vehicle they charge $28/night. read more

Stayed here two nights while in Charlotte for the Football ACC Championship Game. Check-in went well; quickly with casual/friendly banter with the desk agent. Room was comfortable and I especially appreciated the large bathroom and the big shower with the rainfall shower head. However, I slept terribly both nights. The bedding wasn't my cup of team. Not the thread count but just the lack of a blanket. It just felt like they had stacked four top sheets together and called that a blanket. I needed something heavier to get to sleep. Ultimately I left really early on Sunday morning because I know I wasn't going to be able to sleep well. The lobby bar was very busy on Friday night and the service was slow. I know many places are understaffed so I know this may be out of their control for now. The lobby and hotel are pretty on the whole. Parking was easy. read more

Depressing yet comfortable, bland but welcoming, dated yet relevant. There are places that provoke emotions, and there are places that simply give a good night's sleep. The Westin, is without doubt, the latter, as the only emotions to be provoked would correspond with mediocrity, loneliness and blandness. In other words, it's a pretty typical Westin. In a contrast to this everpresent sadness in design, there is an element of Art Deco style of provoking emotion. It is the glass finished, eighteen wheeler sized chandelier as the focus point in the lobby. It feels grand, light, and thought provoking. In the continuation of this industrial inspiration, initially introduced to us by the chandelier, people working the checkin counter are focused on efficiency, cranking out guest checking rapidly and ensuring that the bankers coming back from long days of work have no complaints and proceed to their rooms momentarily. It's a smooth running operation. Despite being an Ambassador guest with Marriott, there was no noticeable upgrade. The room design is contemporary, with some dated areas such as the bathroom with a 90s style bathtub, aging wallpaper and is of average size. However, it is comfortable. The bedding has feather pillows expected at a Westin, an oil next to the bed to help one fall asleep and a great view of downtown Charlotte. It's far from being a spa feel that Westin has attempted to project, but it is comfortable. It is of little doubt, that this comfort, along with the efficiency of service, the core reason that many business travelers pick this hotel. Good sleep is important and this is where Westin excels. Life is a choice, filled with an abundance of micro selections that result in decisions and outcomes. If the preference is to have efficient service and a comfortable night's sleep, Westin is the place. If the preference is to have a character of the place in a hotel, probably best to go elsewhere. This a comfortable, dated, yet generally descent Westin that sits in the average area of life. read more

Was here for a work conference and found the accommodations great! Located in downtown Charlotte - it's close to many museums, the Epicentre, and the NASCAR Hall of Fame is literally a block away! The rooms were spacious, decent lighting, clean, and I liked the view my room had, especially with the great weather the city was experiencing. The bathrooms were also clean and came equipped with that touch of "extra" with robes and slippers for lounging, a sewing kit, and a few other things you don't think of but handy to have. There's an indoor pool and fitness center as well as ballrooms for conferences and large scale events. The attendants at the lobby were great at taking care of any questions I had and also helped guide on what would be worth the while to check out while in town for the evening. There's great places to eat nearby as well as a full bar/ restaurant within the hotel. There's a also a coffee bar that serves Starbucks. I do wish the bell hops were more attentive, but overall not a huge deal if coming in just for a weekend with minimal luggage. Overall - solid option if in Charlotte. Also since now that all the SPG brands are under the Marriott umbrella - you can take advantage of upgrades in case you were previously a Marriott rewards member - hollaaaaa. read more

I've contacted corporate about the overcharge, rude front desk manager Symone Smith and the other snarky unprofessional front desk associates. They did not offer to assist me (being disabled) to move to another room. I had to come get the front desk key to move from a room that was not cleaned to a clean room. I am disappointed that I did not get a full refund of the money I was overcharged without explanation. They just reversed the incidentals fee. I'm also offended about being stonewalled when I called corporate. I'm being passed around now. So calling them won't help me anymore. Your empty words and boilerplate email "solution" are useless. Your staff act with impunity knowing nothing is going to happen to them and are okay with laughing at disabled people. Ignore any so-called response from them about a future stay.I don't recommend this hotel. Go where your business is appreciated and you aren't fed empty words. They refuse to refund! read more

We were forced to stay over in Charlotte (AA fiasco) and we were placed in a run down hotel by our airline. It took us to stay there less than an hour before we realized we'd need to stay elsewhere. The Westin had availability and so we booked and took an Uber ride over. The hotel was clean and in a safe area. The hotel staff were friendly and welcoming- they even gave us a free upgrade! Upon checking into our room we were on the 7th floor and in the corner - we had wonderful views. The hotel room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The elevators do not work unless you have a keycard which adds to the safety. After checking in although exhausted we were hungry and luckily their restaurant onsite was still open at 10 pm! We had a nice dinner and the food was surprisingly good. Al thought i don't ever foresee myself going to Charlotte or getting stuck at the airport again- I'd def recommend this hotel to anyone who is searching in the area. read more

Me and my kid stayed in a 2 bed room with pretty cheap room service, but not great management of the room service, when I ordered 1 burger a salad a fruit plate and a banana strawberry smoothie we got the salad but also 2 burgers without the fruit plate and the smoothie was blubbery spinach flavor I called the room service again to ask for my original order but it never came even after they said it would. Then we decided the room needed cleaning so we called and left for 5 hours when we came back the room still wasn't cleaned we left again for 3 hours and when we came back it still wasn't cleaned it took 9 hours for them to clean our rooms room. read more

Good Day everyone. My family and I stayed at this hotel and it is not family friendly. We had to park 15 minutes walk away from the hotel. Their recommended parking did not allow for overnight parking. So in reference if you you want to stay with a family please Reserve somewhere else. read more
