No church is perfect! But we are trying our best to honor God, walk in step with the Holy Spirit, and love one another as Christ loves each of us. I didn't initially want to stay in this family of churches (which I grew up in) after I went to college because it was all I knew. I wanted to expand my perspective. But God made and has kept making it clear that this is where He wants me. And He has expanded my spiritual and life perspective through opportunities and friendships within and outside of Westside. God has helped us grow and mature a lot spiritually this year, and I look forward to seeing how He moves as the weeks pass by. I'm grateful to call these people my brothers and sisters, and to have and continually foster authentic connections that center on God.

1999. When we moved from Jakarta, Indonesia to Los Angeles, we didn't know anything. This church helped us to settle down. Now for over 20 years spending our lives here, we cannot imagine life without God's love through these brothers and sisters. Matthew 13:45-46 NIV "Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it. We have found a real treasure! We are locked in here

I have been in Marina Del Rey for a few years now. This is my exact prayer request as this is an International Church! I was humbled and I have grown stronger in love! I remember to keep no records of wrong for real now! ;-) Additionally, I love All the Fellowships Weave, As We Get To Entwine Spiritually With Small Groups And Have Fun, Shining God's Love Everywhere! I have a grip of fun in the Singles Events. It's a great diverse place where the Holy Spirit will make sure the right people are around you! ;-) Thumbs-up ;-)

I've been in this church for 26 years--so have witnessed it go through quite an evolution during that time. I love how it's always been incredibly diverse. It used to be more conservative a while back--but has grown to be much more inclusive, less judgmental. The tag line is Belong, Believe, Become--which means they start helping people see that they belong first--they are loved, they are enough, they are family. Then work to work through belief systems that hold people back from really experiencing life. And then what you believe, you can then become. So the action/lifestyle is what happens after you know you belong and have done the inner work to transform your beliefs.

I love my church! I've been a member of The Westside Church for about 3 - almost 4 years. As a single Christian The Westside Church has been a catalyst for my spiritual and personal development. I'm so grateful for the Bible based teaching and to be in a community where people strive daily to walk the walk and talk the talk and inspire and encourage me to do the same! I am not from Cali, and this church has been my family away from my family. There's always something to get into, somewhere to serve, someone to help and plenty of people to love and who love in return. Although I live in North Hollywood, I don't mind that my home Church is in Culver City. I am never bored and have all kinds of 'good trouble' to get into!! We have lots of fun while we live for the Lord. Christianity is about life to the full and my life is truly full of good stuff. I am so blessed to be in a church where each member is a minister and encouraged to use their gifts to help build the Church as well as the community. We are a multi-racial church that strives for inclusion of all people and all backgrounds. I am truly blessed to be planted in this ministry and I invite you for a visit. I'll have a seat saved for you!

I'm so grateful for my "church family" at the Westside Church! It's a great place to develop sincere friendships; and the leadership takes biblical teaching seriously, which I appreciate. If you're interested in personal Bible studies, you will find people there that would love to talk with you (or feel free to send me a message on Yelp). I hope you can come check it out sometime!

I just moved to Culver City a few months ago as I began studying at UCLA, and I needed a church to join! Thankfully, I knew about the Westside church as it's apart of an amazing group of churches spanning across the globe! But even in the few months I've been apart of this church, I have felt so welcomed, uplifted, and encouraged in my relationship with God. The fact that this church focuses on living a Christlike and Bible-based life, as well as the emphasis on deep relationships with one another is what makes it so incredibly special. I constantly feel called higher in my faith in the best way, and especially enjoy the energy of our campus ministry. 10/10 would recommend :)

I've been a member of the Westside Church for 7 years now. Truly blessed to be a part of the west. Church has been my family. Being an Angeleno for over 2 decades you can get really lost in your career and run into family trouble... The church has really helped me find my way back when I thought all was lost. I grew up Catholic and finished High School in the Philippines when my parents moved us down there to help my grandparents. Watching my kids grow up here just wasn't the same. They lacked spiritual growth. When we attended our first Youth Ministry night it all felt familiar and family oriented.

The Westside Church has been my home church for over 25 years! I began coming here when I was attending college, and being part of this community helped me grow in so many aspects of my life. I've seen ups and downs over the years, but one of the things that kept me here is the depth of meaningful relationships. My wife and I met in this Church, and our daughter loves being part of the Teen Ministry!

I live in Culver City and I enjoy being part of the thriving singles ministry in this diverse fellowship that serves the Westside of Los Angeles. The singles range from just out of college to those seasoned in years and there is a place and group connection for everyone. I appreciate how the Church has a commitment to serve the poor, marginalized, and underserved in the community. The sermons are Bible-based, relevant, applicable, and encouraging. I have learned so much about the attributes of God at this Church. The members do feel connected in any life stage, profession, etc. The Westside does live up to its calling for the community, for people to feel they "Belong, Believe, Become."

I called Meals on Wheels a week ago to get set up to help us, in case I could not drive. Fortunately, the Doctor's released me, and I can drive to the store. My 400th Yelp review!…read more @ReadingtoKids is a grassroots organization that aims to inspire the love of reading to children living in underprivileged areas of Los Angeles. Every second Saturday of the month, volunteers go to different elementary schools in the LA area. At these schools volunteers read books to kids that range in age from kindergarten to fifth grade. (Currently there are seven different elementary schools that Reading to Kids volunteers read at. They are Alta Loma Elementary School, Esperanza Elementary School, Gratts Elementary School, Los Angeles Elementary School, Magnolia Elementary School, Politi Elementary School and White Elementary School). Volunteers come from all walks of life. From students to young professionals, all have a common goal of improving the reading and learning skills of elementary school kids. Reading to Kids volunteers are dedicated to giving these kids the opportunity to succeed in life. At the end of each volunteer session, the kids are given prize books that they can take home. The hope is they can acquire many prize books that will help them further love reading. One of the most endearing moments for me as a volunteer was when at the end of the reading session, a little kindergarten boy came up to me and asked if I could read his prize book to him. As I sat down to read the prize book, more kindergarten kids circled around me and together they listened and pointed to the different pictures in the book. The smiles on the kids faces after was so heartwarming. Soon after one of the parents walked up to me, smiled and said "Thank you." That too was another wonderful moment. Many of the elementary students that come to these reading clubs do not have the privileges that most kids have. They do not have the advantages of having a library, of having a Barnes and Nobles at every corner or of having the latest cell phone. Many come from low income families, they live in impoverished areas and English is their second language. The fortune of these kids comes in attending these Saturday morning reading clubs. These kids go to these reading clubs because they want to learn. They want to succeed. They want the opportunity to have a better life. Seeing these kids so eager to read and to learn, is a humble reminder that learning is a privilege that many take for granted. I love Reading to Kids and I'm thankful to my high school friend who first introduced me to this great volunteering opportunity. The elementary schools kids are simply endearing. I also am amazed by all the good hearted people who volunteer. I am in much admiration of the amount of folks that go out and sacrifice their Saturday mornings to volunteer. (Some stats: Reading to Kids has an average of about 300 plus volunteers reading to an average of 780 plus children every month). I being a volunteer myself know that giving up a Saturday is totally worth it. The opportunity to be able to make a difference in these kids' lives and give them a better chance to succeed in life is simply priceless.

Around that time I somehow got on the Reading to Kids e-mail newsletter and have been meaning to get involved. I finally signed up and did it! Here's how easy it is to get involved. -Sign up online -Show up (they provide a light breakfast) -Read to the Kids -Do an arts and crafts project with the kids -Go to El Cholo for free appetizers and meet other volunteers -Repeat once a month You can read to kids from kindergarden to 5th Grade.
