Great acoustics and speakers talking about our everyday life, struggles, and how to overcome them with God and be in peace contributing so much to our society. They have a number of TV's around and speakers so wherever you get seated - you will hear and see everything perfectly.

But if you check its website, you find that it's part of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). When you scroll down to look at the Pacific Crossroads leaders, you may notice that there are no women pastors or elders there--maybe even no deacons. If you check out the PCA on Wikpedia, you find a complicated history on attitudes toward women. For many years PCA interpreted the Bible to forbid women in leadership (never mind the many women mentioned as leaders, including Junia "prominent among the apostles" - Romans 17:6). But in 2016, the PCA voted to reconsider, and more recently they voted to allow women to be ordained; they also allowed any member churches who disagreed to continue refusing to ordain as a matter of conscience. Then the PCA voted to rescind the "conscience clauses," so some churches that objected to women pastors left the denomination. Pacific Crossroads looks like a church that continues to refuse having women in leadership though it retains ties to the PCA, which has so recently changed. Maybe Pacific Crossroads just hasn't gotten around to electing a woman as elder or hiring a woman pastor. Or maybe it's holding out against these changes. Whatever the case, you need to know these things when you decide to join this friendly group of Bible-believing Christians.

I joined the prayer walk team for a time and that is where I made a lot of friends. From the moment I stepped into this church, I was overwhelmed by the love of God through the Holy Spirit--I instantly knew I had found my church home. Deep calls out to deep. Like anything worthwhile in life, building community takes effort. If you're looking for connection, I strongly encourage you to start volunteering right away. That's how you meet the "good eggs"--the ones who value serving, consistency, and commitment, just as Christ's love compels us to show up for one another. Think of it like planting a tree: roots are necessary for fruit to grow. Attending once or twice and making a judgment doesn't do justice to what this church has to offer. Plug in, get to know people. You can't microwave friendships or a sense of belonging. They have a coffee next door which is adorable as most catholics come after mass. Walking in, the people are SO KIND and very welcoming! It is such a beautiful place, with high ceilings, architectures, and lots of incredible designs on each of the windows. I loved the priest, the music, and the people. The one thing is that if you sit in the middle main rows, you will be going last, this church does eucharist for those upstairs and outside first, then the sides, from middle sections back to front, so be sure to be patient! Overall, i'd recommend coming here, it was a far drive since I'm from San Diego, but overall great if you live near or around the area!

It's a full Spanish immersion program and they have very flexible options. We opted for full time M-F 8-5:30pm. Maria and her entire team are amazing: communication is clear and prompt, teachers are engaged and caring, and the school is clean, safe, and offers wonderful enrichment activities like soccer, capoeira, and music. We always feel listened to, and the teachers send updates throughout the day. One of my favorite parts of the workday is getting the cutest photos and videos of her and her friends engaged in all sorts of activities like outdoor play or reading books. The biggest testament to the program is our daughter herself. Now 18 months old, she's excited to go to school every morning, happily jumping from my lap into her teachers' arms, and she's calm and happy when we pick her up. Teacher Gabby V. has been incredibly caring and thoughtful. We feel so lucky to have had her help care for our daughter over the past 14 months. She consistently goes out of her way to provide thoughtful, individualized care, whether that means adjusting nap schedules or giving a little extra attention when needed. We couldn't recommend MFP more highly!

But as I watched her start to get accustomed to the schedule there, I noticed how the staff is educated and friendly. It was emotional for me to watch her learn to be independent at MFP and Maria and Cinthia were very accommodating to helping my daughter transition from homecare to daycare. There's plenty of extracurricular activities dancing, music, soccer, including all the planned crafts to keep her engaged. I always found that they updated ProCare with plenty of updates and pictures to keep me informed of her daily activities. Cinthia, Teacher Karen, Teacher Veronica, Zohra are just some of the friendliest faces who helped take care of her. I also witnessed a very smooth transition between classrooms from the Cherry Room to Olive Room. Cinthia was always available to chat through any of my questions and provided input to best support her. We were so sad to have to leave MFP but primarily did so because of moving (needing to reduce the daycare pickup commute). What was also so sweet was how thoughtful they were to provide her a wonderful experience for both her first birthday at school and her last day. I would recommend MFP!

Posting our family's private information is a possible misdemeanor under California Penal Code § 653.2 PC (posting harmful information on the internet). They must be in financial trouble to go such egregious means and keep our deposit of slightly over $1,000; and not think about the loss of potential clients from our negative online reviews and how we've told several new parents in west Los Angeles to not even consider this child care provider because of our very poor experience. Again, avoid this place like the plague!

This review is long overdue, but better late than never…read more Due to the pandemic, we were hesitant about starting our daughter in school, but when the time came to enrolled we decided to do our research. We looked into and toured a number of schools around the area. Many were beautiful, with gorgeous classrooms, facilities, and supplies. However, not one of these schools asked about our daughter, her interests, or her progression up to that point. It was extremely off-putting, and felt akin to someone selling us a car; very cold and robotic. When we went to tour Dreamland we were met by Anna, who was incredibly personable and informative. She showed us around and began asking about our daughter. She inquired about her social progress, as well as how far along she was in other subjects. They literally were the only school who actually showed in interest in our daughter rather than our wallet! We were invited back to tour with our daughter, who instantly took to the school as well as the teachers and instructors. It's not the flashiest school, but never judge a book by it's cover. They are open 7:30-5:30 (which is incredible for a working family) and feed the children a breakfast snack and lunch. Tuition is beyond reasonable, especially for everything they provide. We have just concluded Pre-K and will be moving on, but what Dreamland has given to us and our family is immeasurable. We were incredibly lucky to find such a wonderful school, who cares not only about education but the children in general (when we moved to the valley last year we kept our daughter in Dreamland and commuted. That's how amazing this school is!). Everyone was like family. We've made friendships that will endure, and we are indebted to Anna, Yev, Ms. Leticia, Ms. Norma, Ms, Fari, and all of the other wonderful people that make up Dreamland. THANK YOU! We are sad to go, but they've build an incredible educational foundation that we are excited to encourage. I could go on and on about how fabulous this school is, but I encourage you to see for yourself. You will not be disappointed!

Lighthouse Church has been my church home for more then 30 years. I was a little nervous the first time I came, but the people were so freindly it didn't last very long. The blessings that I have experience at the Lighthouse are to numerous to count. I found my lifes calling at the Lighthouse. I have a large loving biological family that is very far away, but I have a family at the Lighthouse that has been therefor me in good times and bad. My friends at church have been there for me duing some very hard times in my life. There is always something happening at the church. School ministrey, childrens church, home groups, young adult groups, outreach and of course service on Sunday morning, Sunday night, and Wednesday evening. They also have Spanish servies on Thursday evening. I love the worship and Pastor Rob and Pastor Josh both have great messages that have touched my live and changed my heart. read more

I was looking for a family church, one where I could get to know friends and enjoy relationship. I found also that the church had flaming revival and was involved in exciting church planting. The pastor has become a father figure for me, and my life has been transformed. No longer am I the mediocre, hot-cold Christian. God has done a work to bring me into ministry and eradicate inconsistencies. They preach only the Bible, manifest the giftings of the Holy Spirit and outreach on the streets. Turn-around testimonies are constantly coming into the church. But it doesn't grow too big -- because its best laborers get sent out to plant churches around the world! This church always has something going on! If you are looking for a church to be involved in the activities, then look no further. Children's church, infant care, preschool, elementary school, high school, revivals, events, fellowship, outreaches, medical missions around the world, miracle healing crusades, home groups, foreign exchange students...this church does it all. Too many people go to church, in general, and want to be fed, uninvolved, get blessed, whatever you want to call it. This church embodies the concept of getting out of it what you put in. I have been coming to the Lighthouse Church since 2002. I had been messed up on psych meds and alcohol for many years. One day in 6AM Prayer God delivered me from all the meds and alcohol and I had no withdrawals and I am still clean today. Great family friendly church and lots of ministry opportunities to be involved at the church. I walked into the lighthouse November of 1987 with my six week old baby. I became a born-again Christian that Sunday morning, I fell in love with a congregation and leadership. I went to the church for 10 years and then we were sent out to Pastor. I go back yearly for our harvesters and love to see everybody. The Lighthouse Church is an excellent church and school. This is the most warm welcoming, friendly, and caring church I have been to. Going to my friends or out-of-town families Church's I have recognized that they are also welcoming but they encourage/produce a "comfortable" Christian lifestyle where at the Lighthouse every sermon is rather a spiritual challenge than a history lesson. I was really excited to find a church so close to home. It is five minutes away and felt like a…read moreblessing. I have now attended three Sundays in a row. The worship music is beautiful, the pastor is engaging, and it is clear the congregation has put a lot of heart into creating a space where believers can worship. That said, my experience has been mixed. During my first visit, a woman who seemed to be part of the church's staff or outreach team kindly invited me to a women's Bible study. I appreciated that and truly wanted to join, but my schedule did not allow it. I let her know I would not make it but would attend Sunday services when I could. Over the next two weeks, that same woman repeatedly ignored me, even when I smiled, said hello, and reached out to shake her hand during the greeting portion of service. The third time, she actually looked at me, frowned, and said "I know" when I tried to introduce myself again, refusing to shake my hand. It was awkward and unpleasant. Not how or where I want to spend my day off with bad energy like that. I do not know what caused the negativity, but it gave off a really bad vibes, not what I expected from someone representing a church community. I am mentioning it here because interactions like that can really discourage newcomers who are simply seeking to worship and feel closer to God learn how they can improve themselves, and experience positive interactions with like Minded community on their day off. I may give this church another try because there are good things here, including great music, heartfelt preaching, and kind faces. But I hope leadership is more mindful about who they choose for outreach roles, because one person's attitude can cast a shadow over an otherwise bright congregation.
