You can tell this place genuinely prioritizes making it a warm, comfortable space for the cats while they wait for their forever home. It's not a shelter -- it feels like a home. The staff made the whole adoption experience seamless. Jude especially was incredibly kind, helpful, and knowledgeable -- exactly the kind of person you want guiding you through the process. The rest of the team matched that same energy, and it made everything feel easy and stress-free from start to finish. My girlfriend and I couldn't be happier -- we found our girl Pinky, and she's already stolen our hearts. 10 out of 10, would recommend this café to anyone thinking about adopting. I came as part of an adaptation process to meet the cats, so this is not the usual guest reservation experience. However the staff are some of the most wonderful people and absolutely cares for their flurry friends without question. The cats are given full access to the whole space, they own the place and we are just guests. Most of them are absolutely comfortable with people walking around so you can tell they are definitely well treated. They do have a coffee bar that I ended up getting a black. Coffee is decent, but you didn't come here for the coffee. You came to spend time with flurry friends. Prices are very reasonable as well. You can't go wrong if you just want a couple hours away from the busy day and be accompanied by some very friendly cats! If you are looking to adopt a cat they do work with KittenRescue so you are in wonderful hands. The process is smooth, quick, and just overall a very pleasant experience. read more

Adopted my little one here not so long ago. The adoption process was very smooth for me and only took less than 3 days (shoutout to Bobbie's Street Cats!) The staff at CatCafe Lounge and the foster were very helpful and responsive to all of my questions during the process. I've been to CatCafe Lounge about 6-7 times within these last few years, and was at their West LA location before they moved to Venice Beach. CatCafe Lounge has been my top 3 cat rescue cafe/shelters to go to in the SoCal area as a huge cat lover. During my first time at the West LA location, I was surprised to see that they transformed the outside space into a catio! It was the first I've ever seen in the 10+ shelters/cafes I've been to. Even after the move, the lounge setup was adorable and clean and had many tunnels, towers, and beds for the cats - making great use of the space in their new Venice location while also being a great source of enrichment for the cats. Both the kitten and main lounge housed many kittens/cats over the years, and they all seemed so content and well-taken care of. Most were well-mannered and very friendly to visitors. The best cat cafe I've ever been to! This place is absolutely fantastic. There is lots of room and lots of cats to play, snuggle, and just enjoy from afar! The space is very large, which allows them to have a lot of cats. There is a kitten room that is separate from the adult cats that customers still have access to! The kittens are so much fun to play with and they are so cuddly. There is also an enclosed patio for the adult cats to get some fresh air, sunshine, and great playtime! Tickets are required to enter, but it comes with a complementary drink! They have only dairy free options, but still a large menu. They take cash and credit card. There is also free parking! The café is located on the second floor of a shopping center so if it's your first visit, it might be kind of hard to find, but just follow the paw prints on the sidewalk! Absolutely love CatCafe Lounge! The price for entry is a tad steep ($35), but knowing that all the cats are adoptable and treated so lovingly by the staff makes it so worth it. There are so many cats at the lounge that even if many of the cats are sleeping, you will likely still find some active and ready to play or be pet. There are three areas: the main section, the kitten room, and the catio (cat patio). Being a cafe, they have some drinks you can order and they'll bring it to you. I ordered a hot oat latte. I have a cat allergy so I waited in the waiting area but theres windows so you can view inside the cat areas. Parking was easy since we got there when it opened but the area looks a little small. Had so much fun visiting CatCafe Lounge last weekend with my husband! The kitties look so well cared for and are clearly happy here. Every one of the staff was super friendly, and when we asked about the different cats around they were very knowledgeable about each one's temperaments and needs. We alternated between the indoor and outdoor areas as well as the kitten room - it's so hard not to fall in love in here :) It was therapeutic playing with and hanging out with the cats here. We truly enjoyed our visit at CatCafe Lounge on a Sunday morning. Not only did we get to sip delicious coffee, we also spent time playing with these sweet cats. As soon as we came in the staff were very welcoming and engaging. We had a reservation for party of 5. We were tended to right away. They explained the process and to make sure our hands our clean as to protect the cats and also ourselves. All the cats are vetted. This lovely girl welcomed us and laid out all the does and don't(s), bathroom is available, and merch! I've been a loyal visitor for years but I won't be visiting anymore. Very upset with the location move. Before the lounge was in an accessible area with easy parking. Now it's in Venice and the parking situation is terrible. Also they've shortened the times with the cats and raised prices. They've also gotten rid of Study Sessions, which was the main draw that I recommended all of my friends to Cat Cafe. That won't be the case anymore and I won't be visiting again. read more

Of course you can't just expect to cuddle with cats, they take their time and eventually come up to you for attention or to play. There's a mix of personalities & it's highly entertaining to watch. The coffee itself is just fine but let's be honest, we are there for the cats not the coffee. You can tell that the staff truly cares about the cats. Cat Cafe Lounge is awesome! I've been here twice now and it's always so fun to pet and play with the cats. This is a great place if you're looking to adopt or just looking to spend sometimes with some friendly felines. I always take my out of town friends here because they're amazed at the concept of a cat cafe. Reservations cost $35 per person for 1hr and 10min with the cats. All of the proceeds go right to the cats which I think justifies the price! Make sure to be on time for your reservation to get the most out of your time. They do accept walk-ins but it's best to reserve ahead. Also remember to wear socks! You will need to take your shoes off to go in the cat room. If not they do provide disposable socks but they fall off easily so it's best to bring your own. You are allowed to pick up the cats but you have to be sitting on the floor/chair, they don't allow you to do it standing up. The rooms are all very clean and calm and they even have an outdoor catio. Don't expect all the cats to be active and lively. There's always a large number of cats sleeping because they do sleep during the day. But there's always at least half that are awake. The kittens in the kitten room are usually pretty sleepy when I go in the late afternoon but it's still so fun to pet them and cuddle and play with the ones who are awake! Get on Cat Café Lounge website to reserve a time, read & sign a liability waiver, pay via credit card. $35/hour for a visit to their 2nd story catery.  Go up a long set of stairs in the middle of the building. No wheel chair access as far as I could see. Get briefed on what to or not do.  1) Great Room has cat trees, shelves, sofas for cats & humans and contained about 5 cats playing, lounging, hiding, sleeping.  Sūdoku, grey & white, big old gruff looking tom was a lover who liked to lick me and my fingers which is a great honor especially after applying sanitizer.  2) Kitten glassed in pen housed two adorable 2 month old tiny kitties. You can enter the pen after a short intro by one of the staff.  3) Catio outdoor had one half awake, amiable cat on a shelf at petable height.  4) Side room had cats needing more social skills & interaction to transition to the great room. Chiquita was really friendly wanting pets and sitting at my feet. The rest of the 5 cats were more reserved.   5) There is a chill out room for the cats to get away from humans.  There weren't as many cats as I expected in the great room on the day of my visit. Café is a misnomer since there is no coffee, tea, etc.  All that didn't really matter since I already have two cats at home. My reason to visit was to relive interacting with kittens because I missed the kittenhood of my own cats which is a very short window of time. Also, I thought the $35 donation would help buy a lot of cat food.  CCL also facilitates cat adoption. If you find a cat friend that you really like, there is a way to become an adoptive cat parent. That service of pairing cats to new owners is what makes CCL so great.  5 stars.  PS  Rather small parking lot in front as well as street meter parking (read posted signs for restrictions) which were empty on a Wednesday early afternoon. read more

I'm not gonna lie, I was onboard to coming here with my family but with the idea that I wouldn't be petting cats. I come from a dog family and I had never experienced ANY interaction with a cat. We'll let me tell you after my visit to CatCafe Lounge I just might see a cat in my future!! We made reservations and filled out waivers online. Check in was super friendly and easy. Guidelines and rules were simple for a great experience. My interest peaked when I walked in and saw all the cute cats. I told an employee about my lack of experience with cats and she was so helpful and made me feel comfortable in approaching a cat. We sat and cuddled and I got soooo much love from "Two". Later in my visit I cuddled with "Amor". My son and nephews played and cuddles with many different cats. I would definitely visit again!! Very therapeutic and relaxing. read more

Love this place and would have given it 5 stars if it wasn't for that unbearable smell in the room where the kittens are. It smelled worse than a litter box full of poop. I've had cats all my life and that smell was something else. Maybe a sick kitten? I would have loved to come back again but that smell was awful. I've been to another cat place and never smelled anything like that other than the regular litter box smell. Other than that one room everything else was good. With what people pay to visit should be enough to buy better litter if it's just dirty litter boxes. read more

I was happy when they opened in my neighborhood, since I miss my girls a lot and am thinking of adopting again. I went this afternoon, wanting a bit of furry comfort. Even before I entered, as sign on the door said to ring if it was locked. I assumed it was, and rang and rang all the while seeing someone behind the counter, maybe 4 ft. away, ignoring it. Finally I knocked and was waved in. I was immediately asked whether I wanted 1/2/ hour ($25) or 1 hour ($40). I then spent 10 minutes trying to figure out their waiver.I saw one cat in a small room with someone there. I asked if that was all there was. The woman said " There's an upstairs area". Nothing more. Upstairs there were two more women working, I guess. They said nothing. No explanation. I found a few cats sleeping (afternoon siesta) and after 10 minutes I left. While leaving, the downstairs receptionist was animatedly talking to two really young guys, telling them about the place, the cats, their ages, etc. It wasn't fun, at least not for me. read more
