Rescue kittens and cats to visit, play with or just sit beside on a beach day. Most cats are paired up and friendly. Visits can be 30-60 mins. The main cat space has staircase access, kittens are on the 1st floor.

Gad a wonderful experience at CatCafe lounge. You can tell how much love and care goes to everything they do - the space welcoming and full of happy cats. These cats deserve loving homes, and you might find a perfect companion here

The best cat cafe I've ever been to! This place is absolutely fantastic. There is lots of room and lots of cats to play, snuggle, and just enjoy from afar! The space is very large, which allows them to have a lot of cats. There is a kitten room that is separate from the adult cats that customers still have access to! The kittens are so much fun to play with and they are so cuddly. There is also an enclosed patio for the adult cats to get some fresh air, sunshine, and great playtime! Tickets are required to enter, but it comes with a complementary drink! They have only dairy free options, but still a large menu. They take cash and credit card. There is also free parking! The café is located on the second floor of a shopping center so if it's your first visit, it might be kind of hard to find, but just follow the paw prints on the sidewalk! I'm not sure if they have an elevator, but everyone that works there is very nice: so give them a call if an elevator is required!

Adopted my little one here not so long ago. The adoption process was very smooth for me and only took less than 3 days (shoutout to Bobbie's Street Cats!) The staff at CatCafe Lounge and the foster were very helpful and responsive to all of my questions during the process. I've been to CatCafe Lounge about 6-7 times within these last few years, and was at their West LA location before they moved to Venice Beach. CatCafe Lounge has been my top 3 cat rescue cafe/shelters to go to in the SoCal area as a huge cat lover. During my first time at the West LA location, I was surprised to see that they transformed the outside space into a catio! It was the first I've ever seen in the 10+ shelters/cafes I've been to. Even after the move, the lounge setup was adorable and clean and had many tunnels, towers, and beds for the cats - making great use of the space in their new Venice location while also being a great source of enrichment for the cats. Both the kitten and main lounge housed many kittens/cats over the years, and they all seemed so content and well-taken care of. Most were well-mannered and very friendly to visitors. I'm so grateful to have adopted my little one here, knowing she was so well socialized and taken care of during her time at the lounge. Hugs, cuddles, and kisses from Madeline!

Absolutely love CatCafe Lounge! The price for entry is a tad steep ($35), but knowing that all the cats are adoptable and treated so lovingly by the staff makes it so worth it. There are so many cats at the lounge that even if many of the cats are sleeping, you will likely still find some active and ready to play or be pet. There are three areas: the main section, the kitten room, and the catio (cat patio). The cats seem so well cared for, and the environment is very clean, so it makes me really happy that this is such a popular spot for people to go to to enjoy the company of these animals or consider their future pet!

+ Friendly cats. Lots of toys lying around to play with the cats. + They provide disposable socks to wear over your current socks. . You remove your shoes before entering the cat lounge. + There's hand sanitizer available upon entry/exit. + Peaceful ambience. + Nice, accommodating, helpful staff. Despite my cat-allergies, I survived my 30min session with these feline friends. + The parking situation here obliterates the one for the other LA cat cafe. Free and plenty here at CatCafe Lounge. (Parking at the other LA cat cafe is paid and packed.) - They don't respond to emails. I had inquired 2 weeks prior about accommodations for cat allergies but unfortunately didn't receive early help. - They don't serve food here. Only drinks. Mostly caffeinated stuff. . Paid $20 for my 30min visit. Not sure why NFC (Garmin Pay & Google Pay) weren't working for that payment, yet it was working earlier for the juice box I bought here.

This is a cute cat cafe where you reserve time to pet, play and just hangout with cats and kittens. Theres a main room, a smaller room with kittens and even a catio outside. Theres plenty of seating and cat toys. Some really cool artwork is hanging along the walls. The staff was really nice and informative. You can actually adopt here and they work with a shelter. Being a cafe, they have some drinks you can order and they'll bring it to you. I ordered a hot oat latte. I have a cat allergy so I waited in the waiting area but theres windows so you can view inside the cat areas. Parking was easy since we got there when it opened but the area looks a little small. And some spaces are tight. But theres also street parking. All in all a great experience for our group!

It's a cat place so you aren't going for coffee. It's fun to sit around with cats for an hour and not have to bring them home. It's a cat cafe so expect a lot of cat fur and scents. They have a kitten room and an adult cat room.

We truly enjoyed our visit at CatCafe Lounge on a Sunday morning. Not only did we get to sip delicious coffee, we also spent time playing with these sweet cats. As soon as we came in the staff were very welcoming and engaging. We had a reservation for party of 5. We were tended to right away. They explained the process and to make sure our hands our clean as to protect the cats and also ourselves. All the cats are vetted. If you're looking into fostering and/or adopting cats please visit CatCafe Lounge. Your heart will melt just by seeing and interacting with all these sweet cats. I wanted to take all of them home. We will be visiting again in May.

A very cute cafe. The staff is super friendly. I love their glasses. The rooms are airy. You wouldn't be able to tell cats were everywhere with how clean it was.

This place is fantastic! The cats were all so friendly and playful. We had a wonderful time visiting all the cats and kittens there. The staff were really helpful. Mibbby was amazing! She was so kind and knowledgeable. You could really see how much love she has for all the cats there. It was great meeting her and the other members of staff. I will definitely be back soon for another kitty visit!

My daughter loves cats & this was perfect. It was so cute! Our first time. They have the little cafe right when you walk in. This lovely girl welcomed us and laid out all the does and don't(s), bathroom is available, and merch! Also, WEAR or TAKE SOCKS, they don't allow shoes in the cat lounge but they also offer the disposable socks and or cool socks to buy! BUT the cats were all so sweet and calm and there were definitely some silly ones too ! Will be coming back :)

Ask the Community - CatCafe Lounge

Is reservation needed for guests 7-11?

Hello Daniela! Yes it's best to make reservations for all guests ages and numbers of guests so they can accommodate you accordingly.

Do the cats live there full time? Can you use a large bag of cat food?

The cats do live there! They get new adoption cats/kittens too. However, you cannot use any outside pet foods. Only the ones the lounge provides.

Can you get into the CatCafe Lounge without reservations (with a party of 2 people)?

Hi! If we have room we can accept walkins. We limit the space to 15 people.

I've seen that it is $25 per person, but how long is that for?

It's for 90 minutes.

Are the cats vaccinated?

Indeed! All cats are vaccinated, spayed/neutered, and microchipped!

My son is 2 yrs told and he loves cats. Can i take him here so he can play with them? or is this place strictly for adopting cat only?

Our age minimum is 5 years old. For all potential guests reading, please visit our website for all pertinent info about how to visit our kittos. Our website is posted by CatCafe Lounge, whereas Yelp answers are mainly posted by non CatCafe Lounge…

Are there any kittens?

When I went there were mostly young cats, but probably none under 6 months. But! I know they are opening a kitten lounge specifically for kitten season this year! Here's the link: https://www.catcafelounge.com/tiny-beans-kitten-lounge-presale.html…

Is there a menu of food anywhere?

There is no food here but they have a drink menu once you walk in.

How many cats can one expect during a visit?

About 20 will actually come out to play, but they say 30 when you arrive.

Can you bring your own coffee? Are kids also $25?

You can, as ours is complimentary, but super yummy. We brew the famous Verve Coffee! All guests are $25 as this is our only source of funding to maintain the work that we do saving, caring, and adopting cats.

Do you have to make reservations in order to go in?

Reservations are recommended as we do fill up. We only permit 15 people at a time for the safety of the cats.

We've been to almost all of them in SoCal being locals and we've agreed that this is the most disappointing location. CityWalk's Kitty Cafe's drinks are lazy, I'd say they're uninspired. I would only recommend the lemonade, as it was fresh and sweet. As for the other drinks, it was like adding shaved ice flavoring and dumping into it into a cup of ice water. Next, you sell it for a high price. The desserts are DRY! The only saving grace for the small cake we tried was the frosting. We disposed of the rest, such a shame! Our cashier was also quite confused and condescending. I did not like his vibe, it's not cute being a passive aggressive person. I seriously hope this location works out the kinks. I found the location had cute bistro tables, there's potential here. However, they need to fix their cafeteria-looking shopfront. Note: Character meet-n-greets are available on select days. Also, a Sanrio store can be found next door.

We went for an early-ish lunch, so the options were much more limited compared to dinner. One of our friends has gone for dinner before, and that was much livelier with a much MUCH better menu option. I did take this into consideration as otherwise lunch review for a Sunday would be closer to 3 stars. From outside the cafe to inside, everything was really cute. They have a mascot, which is shown outside and in as well. Enter, and there's a wall of merch you can see and buy. There was another door in that room that takes you to the main dining area, but before it opens, they tell you a lil chant with movements to do. Pretty cool! We were then seated and given our menus. There are combinations which included a photo with a maid. We ended up getting 2 food combos (meal, drink, photo), a dessert combo (dessert, drink, photo), and a drink combo (drink, photo) to all share. The menu had a lot of options, but the food wasn't actually available (darn, was looking forward to some maid drawn omu-rice!), as it was lunch and that was a separate menu. Some items from that were unavailable, so we were super limited with what we could order re food. We ended up trying the following - Miso Salmon - lol, not great. The sides / veggies were better IMO, but they were really small portions. Chicken Teriyaki - the other 3 thought it was pretty good, and I thought it was just mid. Lack of flavor, but chicken texture was decent. Matcha Parfait Dessert Thingy - forgot the actual name of it, but it was pretty! Our maid drew on this which made it special. Taste-wise was fine. Various Drinks - I got a cold brew with tiramisu foam, and that was quite enjoyable. She drew a dog on the foam. Cute! A friend got the coffee with sea salt foam and she requested a fish be drawn. The best LOL. Another got their magic lemonade which was pretty cool! The mixing and such was fun to watch. My daughter got the oreo oat milk drink and she requested a cat to be drawn. Our maid was really nice and explained things extremely well. For the photos, she helped us with standard poses and we all left with a lil polaroid with our experience. Many of the clientele when we were there were solo male, which was what we saw in Tokyo as well. Some groups too. There were a lot of similarities with this maid cafe and the ones we visited in Tokyo, and some differences do include quality of the frequent visitor card (actual plastic card in Tokyo versus paper card here) and the photo came in a frame booklet thingy in Tokyo compared to just the photo here. Would come back for dinner to check that out though!

We were served by a wonderful Caucasian maid, and we also noticed a cute Korean maid taking care of some other tables--the whole staff was super friendly and really added to the charming, positive vibe of the cafe. One thing that really stood out to me was their retail section. They have a surprisingly solid selection of Japanese trading card games like Weiss Schwarz, Hololive, and Pokémon, alongside some manga. It's an awesome touch if you're a fan of the hobby or just want something interesting to browse while waiting for your order. As for the food, I had to try the classic maid cafe staple: the omurice. I ordered the curry omurice, complete with the signature cute ketchup art drawn right on the egg. It was hearty, flavorful, and definitely hit the spot. We also tried a couple of their specialty iced espresso drinks, including the tiramisu latte. They were topped generously with whipped cream and tasty crumbles. The drinks are definitely on the richer, sweeter side, making them feel like a dessert in themselves. I understand that policies are important, but customers cannot follow rules they are not aware of, and the way they are communicated matters. I visited with my toddler and planned to spend some time in the cat area before purchasing our drinks, as drinks are not allowed inside the lounge. Before we reached the entrance, a staff member called out loudly, "Excuse me! Excuse me!" from behind the counter, drawing attention from others. She explained that customers must either purchase a drink or make a $5 donation before entering. I explained that we planned to buy drinks afterward, but she insisted payment had to be made first. I accepted this and purchased a drink. Afterward, she asked me to provide proof of my receipt or text confirmation before allowing entry. Once that was confirmed, she informed me that because two people--the toddler and I--were entering, I would need to purchase two drinks instead of one. While I respect the business's policies, the way they were presented felt unwelcoming and overly rigid. The repeated requirements made what should have been an enjoyable visit feel frustrating. As a returning customer, I left feeling discouraged and decided not to enter the cat area. I hope management will consider reviewing both the policy and the way it is communicated. A more welcoming and customer-focused approach would help create a better experience.
