From the moment we walked in, there was such a deep sense of peace and reverence. The architecture is absolutely breathtaking--soaring ceilings, stunning stained glass, incredible artwork, and details everywhere you look. I was especially moved by the historic pieces throughout the cathedral, including the beautiful chapel, mosaics, and preserved altar. Even the courtyard and surrounding grounds felt serene and thoughtfully designed. Beyond its beauty, what made this experience so special was the feeling inside the cathedral. Despite being such a grand space, it felt incredibly warm, welcoming, and sacred. Whether you visit for Mass, prayer, or simply to admire the architecture, this is truly a place that leaves a lasting impression. Such a wonderful and memorable experience. I would absolutely recommend visiting if you're ever in Los Angeles

Christmas: Spectacular during the holidays with a massive tree in the plaza and beautiful festive choral performances. Gift shop: A must visit for so many unique gifts for study, family and little ones. Tip: Parking is validated during mass hours, especially love the noon weekday mass.

Because of what this church offers, it has allowed me to get closer to God! I never served before coming to LA and now I can't imagine Not serving! The culture at this church is unmatched! It's very diverse filled with tons of creatives in so many different walks of life. They also sale FIRE merch which they use 100% of the money to rent trucks to load up THOUSANDS of pounds of food which they give out every week to ANYONE who shows up. You don't even have to be a member!

I would strongly advise against attending this church, especially if you're considering bringing…read moreyouth or vulnerable individuals into their environment. Back in 2017, I witnessed multiple concerning incidents that left a lasting negative impression. One of the earliest red flags was their outreach approach--representatives from this church would visit local high schools during lunch, enticing students with promises of free pizza, only to preach to them once the room was full. This kind of manipulation is not only unethical but deeply disrespectful to students' time and autonomy. That same year, they invited an internet personality--Woah Vicky--during a school lunch event. It was a confusing and frankly irresponsible decision, considering she is not a positive role model for young people. The situation escalated into a physical fight, putting several students in harm's way. What was most troubling was the presence of a young girl named Dynasty, who appeared to be neurodivergent and likely on the autism spectrum (though I cannot say for certain). She was caught in the chaos, and it was clear that bringing her into such an unstable situation was reckless and lacking any kind of appropriate supervision or sensitivity. Another deeply disturbing moment involved a very young child--around six years old--who fell and cracked her head open during a church event. I saw no safety protocols in place, no medical professional onsite, and instead of proper care or even a call to emergency services, the child and her sister were quietly taken home. This kind of negligence should never happen, especially when dealing with minors. Perhaps the most insidious issue was how the church involved youth in adult matters--conversations and drama that were far beyond what any child or teenager should be exposed to. Looking back as an adult, I can see clearly how inappropriate and damaging this was. The emotional and psychological consequences of this environment still linger for many who were involved. This church has caused more harm than good in the lives of those it claimed to serve. Please think twice before engaging with this organization. Protect your peace, protect your children, and seek a place that prioritizes safety, integrity, and actual spiritual growth. This is not it.

I spent those first weeks in the back sitting on the floor crying. I felt so free and just ok to be myself for once. It has definitely been a hospital for me. It's been 3 years now and I'm so grateful that I was introduced to this community. I've grown spiritually, mentally and emotionally. I'm still growing and figuring myself out but where I am now is without a doubt due to Jesus Christ and the heavy presence he places over this church. The amazing leadership team at Evergreen take their own personal relationships with Jesus very seriously and it makes me trust them so much more. If you're looking to get more involved in the community, I highly recommend checking out all of the greenhouse groups and see which one works for you. Also look into the volunteer teams! I joined the prayer walk team for a time and that is where I made a lot of friends. I'm looking to see where else I can be of use because I seriously love this community and see myself staying here for a long time. I wanna grow with this place.

The entire pastoral and leadership team are sold-out lovers of Christ, and their authenticity is undeniable. From the moment I stepped into this church, I was overwhelmed by the love of God through the Holy Spirit--I instantly knew I had found my church home. Deep calls out to deep. Like anything worthwhile in life, building community takes effort. If you're looking for connection, I strongly encourage you to start volunteering right away. That's how you meet the "good eggs"--the ones who value serving, consistency, and commitment, just as Christ's love compels us to show up for one another. Think of it like planting a tree: roots are necessary for fruit to grow. Attending once or twice and making a judgment doesn't do justice to what this church has to offer. Plug in, get to know people. You can't microwave friendships or a sense of belonging. But according to scripture when you refresh others, Jesus refreshes you--and serving is one powerful way to experience that. If you're visiting for the first time, welcome. I hope you'll take that next step and get involved. Life isn't easy, in fact Jesus warned us there will be trials and tribulation, but He has overcome. Finding people who draw from His well of life is a rare gem, but I've met some of the most solid, faith-filled people here at Evergreen LA. From a city of Angels Native, Amy & God bless you!
