I stayed here for two nights while attending a seminar held at this hotel. I really enjoyed my stay- the hotel has a really classy theme, everything was clean, the staff was nice and very helpful, and the bistreaux was fantastic! I do a lot of solo-traveling, and I get kind of paranoid (I watch too much forensic files)... but unlike many of the fancy well-known hotels in the area, the surrounding area of this hotel felt safe and clean. The only complaint I have is that I wish the hotel had a vending machine or snack place I could get a cold drink. I came in kind of late, and the bistreaux didn't seem open, so I asked the front desk and they gave me some warm water bottles. Not really a complaint, just one of those extra things I would have really appreciated.

Fantastic hotel in a great spot away from the hustle and bussel but still very close to the French Quarter. The location is phenomenal for those of us that want to sleep at night away from drunken college kids in an upscale setting but still close to the daytime fun and nightlife. Walking distance from everything. The rooms are beautiful and evoke the old school lore of New Orleans. The only reason why I don't give it five stars is because the lighting can be improved. For some weird reason there is an excess of white cool light bulbs that contrasts unfavorably with the beautiful vintage charm of the hotel.

The building was amazing. Full of history and build in Marble and Stones. Rooms are ok. A little dated but ok. Price for location was good. $120 p/night. There is no safe in the rooms. We knew that in advance it was good to know for us. Friendly staff. Close to everything.

The rooms are a pretty good size. The beds can fit about 2 women. I wouldn't try to squeeze more than one grown man into it.

Beautiful hotel, reasonable prices. Within walking distance of the French Quarter. Only downside: no restaurant or bar.

The 2 things I care most about when staying in a hotel is a comfortable night's rest and a good bathroom/shower. The bed in our room was the most uncomfortable mattress I have ever slept on in my entire life. It was so mushy that when you laid your head down, you sunk so far into it that your legs were literally 45 degrees above your head. I ended up sleeping upside down in the bed with my head where your feet go in order to feel even remotely comfortable. The pillows were all extremely flat, when you put your head on one it sank so far your face was about 1/2 inch from the mattress. I had to use 3 pillows stacked on each other. I had a stiff back, neck and joints the entire time we were there. The 2nd issue was hot water. The first morning, we attempted to shower, it only got barely luke warm for me and when my husband showered immediately after he only got ice cold water. We stopped at the front desk that morning on our way out for the day and told the woman at the front desk. She said she hadn't received any other complaints so it must be specific to our room and she would send engineering there to look at it. (we were getting hot water in the sink). Later that evening when we returned to our room, we immediately tested the shower again and it was still ice cold. So we went back to the front desk to check if engineering had come. We spoke to the same woman from the morning who acted like it was the first time we were telling her this and she said the exact same thing. I asked if they were going to come ASAP because we needed to shower soon and we couldn't take ice cold showers. She ignored my question and answered the ringing phone. A manager happened to be at the desk and overheard our conversation. He asked what our room number was and said that because of the old building and the pipes the hot water takes longer to get there. He said this was a KNOWN Issue by the staff, management and the owner. He told us to run the shower for AT LEAST 15 to 20 minutes, simultaneously with the sink and it should get hot. He also offered to move us to a different room but when I asked if he could guarantee if we wouldn't have the same problem in that room he couldn't give me a straight answer. We had already unpacked everything and didn't want to go through that hassle without a guarantee. So we went back to the room and let it run for 20 minutes and it eventually got hot. So for the remaining 3 mornings, we had to set our alarms for 30 minutes earlier so we could get up and run our shower before hand. For nearly $300 a night, we felt that this was ridiculous. Old building or not, if its a problem, then either don't put people in those rooms, or get it fixed somehow. Why should anyone be subjected to an ice old shower or an inconvenience to their time because the owner hasn't done anything about it? We visited the hotel Bar, the Bourbon O'bar 3 times during our stay and each time we received TERRIBLE service. None of the bartenders were friendly to us, in fact they were pretty rude. Each time it took them at least 10 minutes to even take our order (by standing there and looking at us and not saying anything). The bar was not busy or crowded any of these times. They would then start making one of our drinks, put it down and make other people's drinks, leave and go into a back room, play on their cell phone, talk to each other, or carry the glass around while doing other things. My husband ordered an old fashioned and the alcohol was sitting in the jar with the ice for over 5 minutes while the bartender carried it around doing other things, causing it to get watered down. When making a cocktail, it should be completed from start to finish without doing other things in the middle. I ordered the Mardi Drop cocktail on 2 different days. The first time, it was actually very good. The 2nd time from a different bartender it was horrible .He also sprinkled probably a tablespoon of cinnamon on top of it (which the first didn't have) which made it nearly undrinkable. I had to stir it into the martini in order to not get a mouthful of cinnamon with each sip. We didn't eat at the hotel restaurant Roux because of the bad Yelp reviews - we felt we could get a better breakfast elsewhere outside the hotel. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this hotel at all unless you don't care about being comfortable or friendly service.

We could walk to so many restaurants, shops, and things we wanted to do in the French Quarter without constantly needing a car or Uber. The courtyard was one of my favorite parts of the hotel. It's so pretty and peaceful to sit out there after a busy day walking around the city. The pool area was also really nice and made me wish we had packed swimsuits. We did have an issue with the AC when we first checked in. We came back to the room later and realized it still hadn't cooled down. Staff did send someone to look at it, but we sat around waiting for a while before finally being moved to another room. I just feel like that part could've been handled a little quicker. It had an exposed brick wall, comfortable bed and bathroom with a large walk in shower. I would get this room again. It was lower in cost and I don't think I missed anything not having a window and like I said it was quiet. This is a nice and well kept property with a great location. I would be happy to stay here again.
