My parents…read morehad previously visited the venue, and they told me how beautiful it was... but until I turned onto the drive, I don't think their description did it justice! Soybeans were planted on both sides of the drive, reminding me of my grandparents' farmland in Greene County. As you come over the hill and see the event barn, especially as I arrived around sunset, it was just stunning! The barn and other buildings on the property date to the 1800s, some of the oldest in Monroe County. I'm a sucker for historic preservation (I'm in the DAR and have a Revolutionary/Hoosier pioneer ancestor buried within half an hour of this place!) so it makes me happy to see the care that the Lucas family has put into both their farm and their event venue. Despite its long history, the barn itself has a modern feel perfect for that rustic farmhouse aesthetic, much like many of the very expensive new construction event barns that are popping up all over the Nashville, TN area where I live. It's so pretty both in daylight and evening that you can't go wrong with your timing. The views are unobstructed from all sides, a perfect little piece of rural paradise not too far from IN-37. I love small businesses, but especially those that are locally owned and Veteran owned. Whippoorwill Hill is both. If you're planning a wedding, craft fair/market, reunion, or just about any other kind of event where you'd like a custom experience with a beautiful Hoosier setting, this place is for you!

Cute little couches through out the room too - perfect for when opening gifts. They have a nice speaker system for music and you can connect via Bluetooth. Also looked like they had a projector if needed but we didn't use. Nick was helpful and the Mill provided tables, table cloths, and a backdrop for photos. It is outside Nashville but not particularly easy to get to, but worth the trip! Actually, not that far from Columbus or Bloomington and a pretty drive. The restaurant is great and food & service are high quality -- tasty, efficient, friendly and casual. You don't have to be in a hurry and for most who find their way there, rushing is not what they are doing. Brunch is my favorite but the menu is solid throughout the day. One of the Oldest Restaurants & Inns in Indiana, I do believe. Find it & enjoy!

The best way to describe the picturesque compound is that it feels like the town of Spectre from the movie Big Fish. It is adorable and quaint. We had arrived in the early evening and quickly put our luggage into our adorable cottage so we could make our way down to the tavern. We enjoyed many drinks and some typical bar fare along with some conversations with the locals. The atmosphere was incredibly welcoming and homey. We walked back to our cottage and had a comfortable slumber. It was a great stay and I can't wait to return!

When dinner was served, 1 8-foot table being served originally on 1 side. The 3 to 4 servers did expand to double rows after 45 minutes waiting in line, ran out of food, utensils.... There were maybe 60 chairs to sit down and eat. I don't know where the breakdown in communication happened, but we all RSVP'ed, $33 each, and the numbers were so off it was like Sycamore Farms planned for 60 people. It's a beautiful venue, but I'd be very hesitant to book an event there again given what happened that night.

There is plenty of space for guests to mingle both in the barn and out on the lawn. Croquet, cornhole, etc. in addition to a designated smoking area. Bathrooms are set up in adorable converted stalls, the bar area is easy to access, there is a designated space for a buffet setup, and I loved the table decor. String lights and soft lighting (no harsh fluorescents!) made the entire place feel like it was lit by stars and moonlight. The dance floor is a covered space between the two sections of the barn, but the walls are open for easy access/mingling. Small tables everywhere, so I never felt like I had to scramble for a place to put my wallet and phone. The owners were unobtrusive, kind, and made sure everything went off without a hitch. If you're searching for a Bloomington-area wedding venue, Sycamore Farm is highly recommended!

The first two weddings were small before my son was deployed with the Army. At first my husband and I didn't really think Indiana was going to be a good destination wedding, but we were wrong. The happy couple met while renting homes a mile away while they were both students at the university. The grounds and home are beautiful. I think the bride and her friends stayed in the Penthouse. The wedding guests saw deer before the ceremony. I didn't see the deer because my son was escorting my husband and I to our seats before the ceremony. They set up all the tables outside and there's a nice patio for the dance floor and DJ, a little patio next to the ballroom for a bartender and an indoor ballroom if the weather doesn't permit dining outdoors.

Brown County Country Club (BC3) is nestled in the woods just a couple miles from downtown…read moreNashville, Indiana. I visited there on 11/7/15 for a friend's private event and I loved it! When you drive up, first you notice a massive amount of green land with trees bordering the property. There's a 100 acres of land, so there's plenty of green space. Down the drive, there's a parking lot next to their main building. There's space for 30-40 cars, at the very least. Walking into the building, if you look to your right at sunset (when we arrived), you'll catch a brilliant sunset past the trees. It's a wonderful time to be in nature! Once you walk down the path and into the venue, allow your eyes to soak up the cozy warmth of the wooden walls, bar, and floor. This is a lovely place! Right when you walk in there is a bar to the right and then space for around 4-5 round tables and some counters/long table space for food. Keep walking and you'll have three amazing bathrooms to your left. I know, right? How strange is it to be in love with a venue's bathrooms, but you'll know when you see it. The bathroom doors are set to slide open along the wall, and are all made of re-purposed wood from a Brown County auction (thanks to one of the owners' family members explaining this to me!). The bathroom interiors are all bright colors and nothing is gender specific. Also, it's eco-friendly! The sink water fills up the toilet tanks and there are dozens of white towels & a laundry basket. There's a larger gathering place that can fit around 7-8 round tables in the next room, and past this is a door leading to the outside. They allow bonfires, woohoo! Beautiful. Also, the land is so far away from Bloomington and Indianapolis, that there's no light pollution ruining the night sky. On a clear night, there are dozens of sparkling stars. Camping may even be allowed (it was at this event) and there's plenty of space. They have space for disc golf as well. Overall, I loved the place. I hope to attend future events at this venue. This is a family-owned property and it's the perfect addition to the Nashville/southern Indiana community!

Upon entering this historic-looking building, you'll be surprised by the modern,…read morerecently(?)-renovated interior. The spaces are sleek, resourceful and pleasant. The spaces are incredibly flexible which makes it easy to hold an event here. The Bloomington Handmade Market had the entire second floor completely open to fit all of their awesome, local vendors. Recently, the Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce transformed the second floor into a few smaller rooms (used for personal business panels) and also had a bigger, open area available for their keynote speakers. The best part though?! The huge, free parking lot just steps outside the entrance to the building. So convenient and so rare to find at a convention center.
