Past experiences have led us to go into IEP meetings expecting the worst. When we learned that Castle Heights had a new assistant principal, we didn't know what to expect. We are happy to say that Mrs. Rose and her team treated us with the utmost respect and professionalism. At our IEP meeting, she gave full attention to our concerns and allowed us to speak our minds. The team listened to us and took our concerns into account and fully explained the services. We are very pleased with how we were treated at Castle Heights.

What a joke this place is. Throughout the process, they acted like they were doing us a favor to even talk to us. Meanwhile, the admissions department at Wildwood was falling all over themselves kissing up to a friend of mine, who happens to be very wealthy and has a well-known last name. Needless to say, her kid was accepted. All this school cares about is admitting rich kids from rich families who will make big donations I viewed some of the classes and was not impressed at all. English consists of a bunch of touchy feely questions, science involves learning how to hug trees, and math was the same exact thing the public schools offer. Waste of time and money, if you ask me.

It's a small school, but that's great for feeling known. It's easy to feel like staff cares about the children. Rigorous education - there is such a good push for a solid educational foundation. We felt like the pacing was good whereby it didn't feel like too much time was ever spent on any one lesson. I found myself amazed at times with what my daughter had picked up in school. Small class size - I guess this can be a pro or a con depending on what you're looking for. I really appreciate the small class size because it felt like extra attention would be given to the students. The small size lends itself to the feeling that the teachers can really identify any areas where the students might be falling behind. In fact, our child had been needing some extra help from us in a certain area and the teacher was quick to identify it to us so that we could take action. I really liked that. After-school curriculars - it seems like a nice blend of offerings throughout the school year to accommodate a lot of interests. Drama and after-school sports class always seemed to be popular. Safety - even though the school is right off Pico, the school really feels safe and secure. They have a good system to keep track of the children and solid gates and doors. During Covid, they really kept a good system for keeping the kids safe. There was weekly testing and great response times when there were positive cases. Tuition - the cost does go up each year, but it feels manageable and in line with costs that increase in all other areas of life these days. No complaints there. There are tuition discounts when you become a member of the church. Playground - while there isn't playground, the kids seem to really enjoy the blacktop area. They can run around and play games. They can also play basketball and volleyball. In the end, we are really happy that we chose St Timothy. It's been a great experience thus far and we look forward to more years here.

Finding Park Century School (we are currently finishing up our first year there) has been one of…read morethe best things to happen to our family. The staff, the teachers - all incredible and everyone is focused on the same goal - our daughter's academic success. She was starting to disengage at her previous school because it simply wasn't set up to meet her needs. Since joining Park Century, she has transformed. She is thriving, happy, and settling into middle school with a confidence we weren't sure we'd ever see. Middle school is a hard transition for any kid, and even harder when you learn differently. Park Century makes it feel manageable -- because they have a plan, decades of experience and a proven method. We are so grateful to have found a community that sees our child for who she is and gives her the tools, on her timeline, for independence and success. We can't recommend Park Century highly enough.

As well I remember the art teacher we had was horrible (Christina) and a bore that was far from insightful on anything and I mean anything artistic she would just show slides then make us make copy's of Mondrian or whatever artist she chose that week. I think this is kind of indicative of how the entire school operates, a lot of saying they encourage hands on learning but then only actually allowing a very small amount of actual hands on learning and having just endless lectures on what felt like nothing. They treated the kids as if left alone we went be able to survive for 30 minutes alone which is just silly and it's just far too much cuddling to actually allow any real experience or learning. Also everything said by other reviewers about allowing the children of wealthier families preferential treatment is entirely true. Also there was a bullying problem but that's a completely different story. Also they where just incredible ridged the entire time and made it feel like you couldn't be a kid or have any natural experience unless it went with their very very strict rules that I imagine cater to some parents with more sway over the schools wishes. At the end of the day just Dont send your children there even though there where some positive it's like so heavily outweighed by the amount of bad like a grain of rice versus the sun on a scale and if your kids are there already pull them out and demand a refund. In short the school is a joke and horrible dont send your children there unless you want to ruin their futures it's a horrible farce of place and there is nothing more to say about it really.

Pressman is a place you walk into and feel as though you're receiving a warm hug. You'll know your kids are being cared for and cared about, thought of, and raised in a way that feels like an extension of your own home. More than a school, Pressman is a community. Head of school Dr. Rothblum is a role model, and her kind, strong leadership and dedication to learning is apparent at all levels. Pressman was one of the first schools in LA County to receive a waiver to return to school onsite during the pandemic which was no small feat and took careful planning, imagination, and fortitude. She is involved in making carline run smoothly, ensuring adequate security around the building. She knows the name of every child. She's an inspiring leader for the parents and the kids. Watching her speak to kids is like watching a magical wizard. The kids are engaged, listen, follow directions, and learn. I remember being a kid and feeling despondent on Sunday nights, the "Sunday blues," knowing I'd have to go to school the next day. My kids do not experience this. Quite conversely, they ask if they "get" to go to school. They have developed a love of learning, an affinity for the classroom and for their community. My kids will look back at their childhoods with warm memories of school, which makes the money worth spending.

Everything was clean, organized, and well maintained. The atmosphere for the game was good, families were there, and everything felt positive. The experience that both of my children have had at the school has been life-changing for them and for us. My 3rd grader, who was struggling in K-2, felt so welcomed.
