    With my finished wine :)
    Irene H.

I highly recommend coming this place if you want to experience making your own wine, getting many bottles without having to pay the expensive retail price per bottle! The staff is very friendly and helpful in making sure your experience is great. They help make the simple process even easier for you! To outline the process, step 1 is where you add the yeast to the wine that you ordered on the site. Make sure to book the appointment dates online first! The yeast dropping is very quick as it takes less than 5 minutes. After that, you wait a month and they will send an email for you to come back for the bottling and wine tasting. During the second visit, you will get to taste the wine to see if it's good. They also sell labels and wine bottles if you dont have your own! She rested you will use the machines to fill the bottles with your wine, cork, seal and label and you're done! It takes generally 30+ minutes to finish everything unless you have extra hands to help. A very fun hands on experience! I ordered the white Pinot Grigio and it tasted perfect! So happy with how everything came out and I can't wait to gift the bottles to friends and family :)

This was my very first experience of making wine. It was a fun moment. First, you need to book an appointment, pick your wine, schedule for a yeast drop for your product. Next, after 6 weeks you can go back and finish bottling, label your wine and wine tasting. They also sell labels and wine bottles. The machines to fill the bottles with your wine, cork, seal and label! It takes 45 minutes to finish. I would highly recommend you to come to try it yourself.

I absolutely enjoyed the entire hands-on experience of making my own wine from scratch! From adding the yeast, to bottling, cooking, and sealing, the entire process was so fun and easy. The staff were also very knowledgeable and friendly. A great experience and at a very affordable price!

I had a fantastic experience here! To be honest I had forgotten that I had purchased wine from here, then I received several emails reminding me to come and bottle my wine! It was like finding money that you hadn't realize you had lost! The staff are great and very knowledgeable! It was my first time making wine and they led me through each step personally. It was pretty easy though! My 'yield' was approximately 14, 750mL bottles. The bottles aren't included, but you can bring your own! They provide free corks and foils as well as labels!! I would highly recommend this place!

California Chianti for average cost of $4.75

I haven't done this for at least 5 years so I ordered a batch of California Chianti in early December 2017; new client price of $93 plus $3.90 fee. On January 6, 2018, I paid $36.05 for 29 new green bottles, received self-adhesive labels, and caps to complete the job. The appointment was for 30 minutes although it took me 60 minutes to bottle everything after staff showed me the process. All in all, a nice experience for $4.75 a bottle. Now, I'm going to wait for 30 days before I crack a bottle open to enjoy!

I have been bottling wine here for five years. I always enjoy the bottling and tasting experience. Each wine I have chosen posses unique characteristics. I do have my favourites. California Shiraz and California Riesling. The staff are very helpful, their assistance is always appreciated!

She left the worst note to our trip. We declared and opened the trunk to show one bag of apples were picked $45 pre paid at entrance. She demanded she organise the bag as it spilled in trunk in our laundry basket and claimed we had 2-3 more apples over the limit. I asked calmly if she wanted to take them out, and she snarked she'll let us have them. To be clear, our bag wasn't even close to brimming like most others. She also pulled this to the cars in front of us. Our friends being there a week previously said another staff was much nicer but they've encountered this old timer and got the same treatment Despite the crusty senior, this place is worth the drive to. No fighting crowds for tractor rides to the picking fields, or searching for a variety that's over picked. Prices are per car/bag $45 for 20 lbs of apples, another bag is $45 that is prepaid at entrance. Entrance off the single lane dirt road is a bit sudden, no warning signs the orchard is coming.

We drove up to Niagara-on-the-Lake as I had good things about that area. I asked a local what wineries recommended and was told about Peller. There are about 40 wineries to choose from in Niagara-on-the-Lake, and Peller Estates ended up being an excellent one. We drove up to a large estate with fields. Bartender was friendly. We asked about wine tastings. Bartender mentioned how Canada has ice wine, which American wineries don't have. She let us sample it to see if we liked, which we did and opted to just get the ice wine. Wow, that was a delicious white wine! I wish we had that in the US. But in general, much of the US climate is too warm for ice wine. The grapes are out there to freeze solid. Ice wine needs to be picked below 18 F (-8 C). In Maryland where I live, winter can get cold, but it's inconsistent, some years barely any days below 18 F in Baltimore. Ideally, you want multiple days in a row for a more sustained freeze instead of rushing out for the few hours it might get down to 15 F. On the flip side, it can be too cold in northern Minnesota (where it easily gets below 5 F or -15 C often, which is the lower temp limit) or upstate NY. Also, heavy lake effect snow like that often occurs in Buffalo is problematic. It's a specific microclimate of the Niagara peninsula near Lake Ontario, where it gets cold but not extremely cold too often, not many heavy snowfalls. In the US, near Lake Erie is the sweet spot for ice wine in southwest NY, northern PA, & northeastern OH. Also, northern Michigan near Great Lakes as well as the Finger Lakes region of NY. The lakes moderate the temperatures in the winter if winery is positioned south of the lake, but needs to also be in an area not prone to be slammed by heavy Lake Effect snows like Buffalo. We wanted to sit on the outside, but there was a private event being setup. We sat at a nice table inside the beautiful estate. Afterward, we brought our glasses back to the bartender thanking her and saying the ice wine was excellent. She took the glasses back and said here are 2 clean glasses to take with you thanking us for our visit. This was an excellent experience. Highly recommend a visit to Peller Estates!

Sampled a champagne style wine. Stop 2. Balcony overlooking vineyard. the guide told us one type of grapes on the left another type on the right. Two more types behind the building. Sampled a white wine. Stop 3. Barrel room. Short discussion of barrel aging and coopering. Sample cheap blended red wine. Pretty underwhelming so far. Stop 4. Ice room, set to -10 degrees. Room furniture is made from ice. Room is cool, literally and figuratively. Probably the justification for the high tour price. Small sample of cheapest ice wine they sell. Tour ends in the store, what a surprise. I asked to try a different version of the ice wine, tried it, liked it, decided to buy a bottle. Note this was a bit more expensive than the cheap wine we tried. I asked to try a Gamay red wine, tried it, liked it, decided to buy a bottle. Note this was a more expensive than the cheap red wine we tried. I asked to try a different version of the red wine, but this time a different lady said I had to pay $7 for the 1 ounce sample. She also seemed to want to charge me for the previous two 1 ounce samples. I did try it and liked it, and decided to buy a bottle. Note this was even a bit more expensive than the previous wine i bought. Two issues with their sampling pricing. 1. It works out to about $35-40 a glass for a normal glass. that's a lot. 2. Why does the customer have to pay to try a wine they might want to buy. The tour only shows cheap wines so it does not show off any really good, or more pricey, wines. Seem like short sighted marketing to me. Conclusion = over priced tourist trap.

With beautiful weather, a lively crowd, and an impressive selection of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, it made for a fantastic afternoon. I was especially impressed by the number of distilleries showcasing products that aren't yet available at the LCBO, making the tasting experience feel unique and giving visitors the chance to discover something new. While there were plenty of standout offerings, my favourite has to be the Honey Gin Fizz from Willibald Farm Distillery & Brewery. It's refreshing, well-balanced, and hope it will arrive at a bottleshop in the GTA sometime soon. It would definitely be my go-to summer drink! Food was also available for purchase, and the tacos were the perfect complement to an afternoon of tastings. There was ample seating, with plenty of picnic tables, making it easy to relax and enjoy the food without feeling crowded. Overall, this was a well-organized event and a wonderful celebration of Ontario's craft beverage scene. I'll definitely be back to explore more of what Geary Avenue has to offer, and I look forward to attending Holy Waters again next year.

We tried the red and white Ice Wines, Whiskey and Creams. Let me start off by saying I do not like wine at all.... However the Ice Wines were absolutely incredible! The maple flavored Whiskeys were awesome and rich with flavor while being very smooth to sip. I tried the Butter Pecan Cream (kind of like Baileys) which was a favorite as well. The prices are very reasonable especially with the exchange rate. They have gift shops where wines, whiskey, creams can all be purchased. They also have shirts and other items. I personally loved the hockey stick shot flight. The shot glasses were skates that fit into a miniature hockey stick. They also have a restaurant where I had the best poutine I have ever eaten! I also had the smoked trout sandwich which was delicious. The Caesar salad with kale and capers was awesome! The flavor of the food, the freshness and presentation was second to none.
