Few comments: Asparagus was a bit disappointing. Its more a personal thing where I'm not a huge fan of white asparagus. It's a bit salty but much better with the sauce. Scallop was perfect in texture and timing. Not as impressed with the sauce and is slightly on the salty side. Pork loin was creatively done. However, it seems consistently salty, so far the 3 main dishes are all on the salty side. The pomme souffle was delicious but the filling again was too salty. Though it did say it was made with salty fishy The lemon with curry as a dessert was very creative. However, it was not as enticing. Bon appetit!

What is more fitting than having an 8+ course meal when you should be eating turkey, stuffing and cranberry sauce. Needless to say we left even more full than if we had indulged in the typical manner. The ambience at Club Gascon is elevated chic. It is very simple yet exceptionally thought out. The food is exceptionally thought out - it's creative, innovative, complex and delicious. Highlights for me from the Christmas tasting menu we're the amuse bouches, the stuffed tulip, and the compressed cheese shortbread. The wine pairings were also extremely interesting and the sommelier was knowledgeable, friendly and provided great insight. Lastly, what really makes the dining experience here are the people. It is so obvious what care goes into selecting the team and we were blown away by their investment in ensuring our meal and experience was above expectations. Whether it was chatting about the origin of olive oil at a waitresses family farm in Italy or learning more about the wine selection process from an islanders perspective. We were blown away and will most definitely be back.

The space is quite large and just around the corner from Marcus in the Berkeley Hotel. Dont miss the pig topiary as you enter! On a late Sunday, it's one of the few nice restos to be open, replete with a large French staff. We ended up sharing: FOIE GRAS CHAUD, ENDIVE ET SAUTERNES Hot foie gras, chicory & Sauternes CALAMARS BOLOGNAISE Squid Bolognese style LANGOUSTINES Langoustine tortellini with langoustine broth FLAN DE FROMAGE DE CHÈVRE ET BETTERAVES Goat's cheese flan with beetroot PIED DE COCHON, TANTE CLAIRE Pig's trotter stuffed, sweetbreads & morels MONKFISH Special BAR SAUVAGE, PURÉE DE BROCOLIS ET SAUCE AUX AGRUMES Fillet of sea bass, broccoli purée & citrus sauce Pistachio Souffle and Pruneau D'Agen as our desserts. I am relatively new to fine dining and I wasn't around that scene when Pierre Koffmann established…read morehis reputation as one of London's greatest chefs with his 3 Michelin starred restaurant La Tante Claire, which was based at Chelsea's Royal Hospital Road, now the site of Gordon Ramsay's restaurant and then at the Berkeley. He retired in 2004 just as I was starting to get into fine dining. I missed his pop-up venture at Selfridge's last year and so, I was very excited to hear that this French culinary legend, who was also head chef at the Roux brothers' 3 Michelin starred Waterside Inn in Bray, had returned to the Berkeley. There is always that slight trepidation that some legends don't know when to quit and besmirch their memory with ill-advised comebacks in the style of Lance Armstrong or Michael Schimacher (so far) The Berkeley is also currently hosting Marcus Wareing's 2 Michelin starred restaurant and I'm impressed that this hotel is aiming very high with its cuisine. First impressions at Koffmann's is how light the decor is. Unlike Marcus Wareing's place with its dark wood veneer, the earth tones, food-themed photos on the walls and oopen kitchen create a less over-bearing atmosphere. The menu is classically and unapologetically French. It shows the confidence of the chef in his method and his palate. I started with a French fish soup, one of my favourite starters and this version lived up to my expectations with a satisfying depth of flavour, enhanced by the traditional accompaniments of croutons, rouille and gruyere. For main course, it was a no brainer - I had heard so much about the eponymous Koffmann's pig's trotter stuffed with chicken mousseline, sweetbreads and morels, much copied but never bettered by other chefs. This was in fact the reason I chose to eat here. Well, his signature dish lived up to its reputation. The mind boggles to think how much work goes into its preparation but the unctuous softness of the trotter and its contents just melts in the mouth. I finished with the pistachio souffle, which was technically perfect and this was accompnaied by pistachio ice cream. A warm welcome back to Chef Koffmann and thanks for a great meal.

The menu is a little restrictive at times, but does change fairly regularly. On a recent visit I had the steak entrecote, which while cooked to perfection was a tad fatty for me. I would have liked to have seen a great selection of vegetable options, but it is primarily a steak and frites restaurant. The wine list offers reasonable value and a fair selection. Don't go expecting fine vintages though.

Was a little shy writing this review. The bar here is so quiet, and tea here is divine. I have my favourite spot in the hotel - which I won't share, but it is a true gem in Mayfair. But the sweets were a real disppointment (save the looks) - varying from tasteless shortbread to dry sponge on some of the items, to uninspired chocolate and absolutely revolting marmalade on others. Only the marzipan covered battenberg cube and the toffee chesspieces (on top of said drab shortbread) save the day. Also they only refill scones and sandwiches once, which is a bit stingy (the sandwiches are tiny). If it weren't on sale for January and I had to pay the full 40 quid I would have been very annoyed - this is a michelin star restaurant after all and I expected so much more.

We ordered porridge and just a simple salmon Benedict for our guests. The porridge was filled with heavy cream after telling he waitress that we wanted it dairy free . I ordered a vegan gluten-free plate which they said they would be more than accommodating to make and the waitress listed off items that sounded phenomenal but by the time I plate showed up, there was just steamed spinach, small side of beans, and nothing of which they promised because the waitress never informed me that the things she recommended are neither vegan nor gluten-free. We asked repeatedly for hot teas, orange juice and water which we never received. So I ended up getting up and going to one of the side counters where there was a jar of water and brought it back to the table and filled it myself. Go else where for breakfast if you are staying at the hotel.

I ordered the mushroom tagliatelle and my friend a tomato and mince version and they were both delicious with a decent portion size. However I thought drinks were a bit on the pricey side at almost £6 for a single mixer but the wines seemed much more reasonable upon checking the menu. I think I might start frequenting this place a bit more when I have that Italian food craving, as it certainly hits the mark, and is conveniently located being right in the middle of Peckham.

I cannot fault them on any of those aspects. We had the queen of spades menu with the emotion pairing. So that meant we had mackerel, berlingots, white asparagus, lobster, seabass, guinea fowl, red leicester cheese and then dessert (chocolate for me). The wine pairings were not spectacular. I think they are trying to do too much and be too smart. With these dishes there are some lovely classics that will go well. I think we had one wine all night that we truly loved and the rest were either not wine (an alcoholic tea in one case) or relatively recent for what I would have expected at 280 pounds each. I get that may be the business model of 2 star restaurants but then perhaps my jam is just one star and near-starred places. I wouldn't refuse an invitation to go back but we will not seek it out again.

I was in an experimental mood and with my other half gone on a business trip, I browsed through my bookmarks list on the Yelp App until this place came up ;-) When I arrived, I was welcomed by Alan, one of the owners, and was seated right away. Turns out it was a very slow evening, which Alan attributed to the fact that it was Marathon Sunday in London. Well, good for me, as I had all the attention of the staff and therefore had a very pleasant dining experience. My favourite part of Del Parc is that I don't have to make a decision when it comes to food...in fact, you cannot make a decision. You just tell the staff about any dietary limitations you might have and off they go. I was reading on the blog of the Kentishtowner that this idea has evolved from the fact that many of the regular patrons just told the chef to prepare whatever he deemed to be best. This is my kind of restaurant ;-) And soon the platters (tapas) started appearing: at first a charcuterie selection, accompanied with pickles and filled olives. Then, a plate of Galician mussels was placed in front of me...and I was at first a little shocked. I should mention that I don't like mussels, but I had made a pact with the staff and my dietary limitations didn't include mussels. Well, turns out I actually do like mussels and I would've never found out, if I wasn't "forced" to eat them. The following dishes were spinach with pine nuts and marinated raisins, followed by king prawns in a very garlicky sauce. I confessed to Alan that I'm no pro in eating prawns and he suggested to just use my hands and dig out as much meat as possible. As this was a very messy undertaking, he brought me a bowl with lemon water to wash my hands in afterwards. He also brought me some additional baguette to soak up the garlic sauce. When I said that you don't need to make any decision here, then I was slightly incorrect: you do need to make a decision about what you want to drink. I went for sherry, as this fit perfectly into my experimental mood...being somewhat of a sherry-virgin ;-) I really liked the sherry that Alan chose for me, although I thought it was a little to chilled. After I'd finished my meal, I engaged in a longish conversation with Alan - given that there were no other customers, he was able to dedicate a lot of attention to me. He told me that they'd been at this place for about 12 years now and that before this little tapas place, he and his partner-in-crime, Steve (the chef) had actually run a deli nearby. Overall I really liked it here and I will have to come back with more people - given that this is a tapas place, it ought to be more fun to sample more dishes.

It is quite a small restaurant, and they were too full for us to reserve a table, so we just sat by the bar at the front. The staff were friendly and helpful and the smells coming from the kitchen made me hungry as soon as we stepped inside the door!! They have a tapas menu, an a la carte menu and the chefs menu (where they just keep bringing you food until you roll out happy and full...for £30.) We (of course) went for the chefs menu, and I am sooo glad we did. I didn't take any photos of the first few dishes as we were hungry and the lads I was with ate half of everything before I could get my camera out... but I remembered for about half the dishes - have a peek at my photos for a better description than I could possibly paint with words. Marc and I normally try to avoid Spanish food (as Marc's mother is from Catalonia and is such a good cook, that normally tapas in England is rubbish in comparison.) This is the first time we have ever found a Spanish place that we both love... we're even considering bringing Marc's mum to try it next time she comes to London. If you ever find yourself near Tufnell park or Archway, just come here.
