This has to be the best damn bar burger I've ever had. So funny story my husband has talked about the winery burger for 20+ years saying it's prob one of the best burgers in Decatur. I lived there with him for 4 years before we moved away back in 2004 and I never tried them not even when we were back to visit. Not sure why maybe time constraints who knows. This visit I was like i am going to try this burger because I wanted to know if it's worth all the hype. I am here to tell you I don't think they get enough hype. There should be lines down the block to get this burger. They are made fresh to order and my burger was so juicy and full of flavor. I hands down think this is one of the best burgers I've tasted in a bar or restaurant. Someone needs to get the food channel out to visit this place. read more

Burgers are good, beer is cold and cool vibe. If you're expecting fancy, it's not this place. Bar, pool tables, juke box. I saw another review saying the staff wasn't friendly, but everyone was awesome towards us. Have a double patty burger, beers and chips... you'll be good to go. read more

Had my first winery bar experience and I must say after all the hype I dont get it. Burger was decent at best and the bartender Cam well what an unfriendly cold and generally useless person. He clearly doesn't want to be here but when you can't cut it anywhere people want to be you can alway bartend in Decatur. read more

Dark. Dimly Lit. REAL jukebox, not one of those new-fangled internet things that eat up all your drinking money. A barmaid who will never allow you to have an empty glass. Oh, and CHEAP. This hole in the wall is not the place to go if you're looking to dance or get rowdy, but it is an awesome place to chill out and have some good, cheap drinks. The jukebox is great. No pop top-forty garbage. Darts and a pool table await you if that's your thing. I can't speak from experience about the burgers, as I don't eat beef...but the way my carnivorous friends go on about them, you'd swear they were laced with crack. They remodeled the place about a year ago, so the leaky ceiling and busted-up booths former patrons might remember have been replaced. But make no mistake, The Winery retains every bit of its charm. read more

I like this place. It's nothing fancy, but it has a nice cozy feel to it. I think they make some of the best burgers I in the area, so if you are drunk and hungry this is a good place to be. I have never had problem finding parking here and I would feel alright leaving my car on the street overnight if I couldn't drive home. Prices for everything are very reasonable. They also seem to place a nice selection of music. Good place to visit if you are in Decatur and looking for a place to hangout. read more

Their burgers are worth the trip alone. WOW! I was able to put down 6 of them, each one tasting better than the previous. They offer Fat Tire there, and I wish they had a better beer selection, but its not your classy bar type establishment. It does not need to be. Darts, pool, the atmosphere is one that is dark, a little rustic, but oh so perfect. The remodel helped it out a bit, and I will be going back to try and conquer 8 Winery Burgers in 2012. read more

It's a college dive bar. THE BEST COLLEGE DIVE BAR. Burgers are OUT OF SIGHT phenomenal. Don't know what kind of crack they add to them, but you can just keep on eating them forever. Great stuff. This is the epitome of small town dive bars. I've loved this place while attending college and still enjoy reminiscing with friends old and new here. This is a staple of the Decatur culture. One thing for sure... don't come here for the food! I have no idea what everyone is talking about with the burgers being to die for (unless they are also consuming a substantial amount of alcohol before eating their burgers)... my husband got a burger and it was way over cooked, small, and flavorless. My philly cheesesteak was bland and served on a very stale bun. The store bought chips (which are the only side choice!) were the best part of our meal. It was so dark in there we had a hard time seeing. They did not even have a single menu for us to look at and had to just give us some choices off the top of their head. The bar tender is also the cook, only server, and table busser. We never saw another person while we were there, so for running the entire thing all by himself, he did a pretty good job keeping up. read more

Decent prices, the sliders are really good, and the dive-bar ambnce is a good fit for a low-key evening. This is not the place to shake your tailfeather, it's the place to hang out and chat with your friends. The bathrooms are a lot better now than they were in the past, so ignore that aspect of older reviews. read more

My very first yelp review. I'm glad it is this place. The jukebox alone is worth the trip. Please don't ever change that jukebox! I will be here every time I do business in Decatur. This is the kind of place I grew up in. Joe the bartender is one of the nicest, gentlest human beings I've met. I immediately felt like a regular, as I was greeted and treated like such. I've always been a fan of this place until today. Our waitress was exceptionally rude. We were barely seated before we were asked what we wanted to drink, so I said that I would start with a water but would want something else once I decided. When our waitress returned with the water, I asked for the beer I chose. She promptly and very rudely said, "Are you kidding me?" then as she walked away, shouted over her shoulder at us, "I was just over here. You need to get your stuff together." She made me feel very embarrassed when all I had done was order a drink. She later came and attempted to justify her comment by saying that people take advantage of her thinking she's at their beck and call when people need to decide what they want while she's there the first time. Having worked in customer service I understand having to deal with rude customers, especially as a waitress at a bar, but did not appreciate being berated for simply ordering a drink. I will continue to order food to go because the burgers are some of the best in town, but I will not be back for seated service due to extremely poor customer service. We chose to walk to a neighboring restaurant for dinner tonight rather than force our waitress to waste her time bringing food to our table. read more

Place is a grease pit bartender has no class. Guy who cooked my food didn't even wash his hands. Then got loud when i asked him a question about it. I said cash me out. 6.25 in food and 5 beers later the tab came out to 7.25 so obviously somebody cant do basic math. I threw him a $20 and said keep it. No class at all i wont be back. read more
