My son loves his teacher and looks forward to going to school. In the small school community all the teachers know you and your child's name. The lead teachers at Evergreen are experienced, knowledgeable and caring. The individual attention that the children receive has been crucial to my son's academic and social development. His joy of learning is genuine and intrinsic - I attribute this to Evergreen. I am confident that he will carry this love and curiosity for discovering new things throughout his life. Evergreen also has a robust art and music program. The Montessori implementation at Evergreen is unmatched in this part of Montgomery County. Evergreen School is truly a gem. The small class sizes allow teachers to meet each child where they are at, and to accelerate curriculum or give extra support to each student based on their needs. But the Sandy Ridge staff was INCREDIBLE in helping me feel confident that my daughter was receiving the care she needed regarding cleanliness and then later on assisting so nicely in our potty training journey. All of the staff genuinely love each student and work closely with the parents if there are ever any issues. My daughter had a lot of trouble adjusting to school, and it really felt like the teachers, assistants, and other aids all came together to help my daughter feel included and cared for. Her teacher, Ms. Eileen, would help me come up with good ideas to help her get comfortable with school. They also helped ease my anxiety by sending pictures with updates on her progress. Also, my daughter absolutely loved the class assistant, Ms. Baba, who was so gentle and kind with her. The teachers work together in cohesion and many of the teachers from the other classes, like Ms. Nina and Ms. Evelyn, were still very involved in the development and well being of all the students, even if they weren't their own. I especially appreciated the consistent parent/teacher meetings after receiving quarterly report cards, because it helped me see what actual areas of learning my daughter excelled in, enjoyed, or needed extra support in. Ms. Eileen would give me ideas to better those areas, which helped me supplement this learning at home. Their system is very organized and responsive. Overall, Sandy Ridge is a truly wonderful and fun school, full of excitement, learning, parent/teacher collaboration, understanding, ingenuity, and most important of all, trust - I would recommend to all my friends.

It sounded too good to be true and so I did my due diligence and setup an in person tour before I made any decisions. Ms. Shaheen led the tour, I was pregnant at the time and in tears at the thought of my son being away from home for the first time (2 at the time). The amount of care and patience she took with answering all of my questions without being pushy or short ultimately led to my decision to enroll my son. Here I am, two years later and my older son is thriving. He is able to learn at his own pace with the full support of the teachers and supporting staff. Every single staff member knows my name and my child's name. My younger son is enrolling this Fall and I am feeling confident knowing both of my sons will be with staff that I love and trust.
