The Beach House At Lake Street - Heated pool and hot tub

This spot has been very special to our family. Last year (2017) I researched options for a family…read moretrip on the west cost of MI and found great reviews for the Beach House at Lake St. Pricing was more than we typically pay for hospitality but given then location we thought it was fair. Fast forward two trips later we're big fans. The property is well maintained, the staff are friendly, other guests have been welcoming and respectful, and there is so much to do. Holland State Park is great but this year (2018) Tunnel Park was the hit. We have 4 kiddos entertainment is important. I highly recommend a stay here.

If I could give the Beach House 10 stars I would. Exceeded our expectations. This was our last…read morevisit to Holland as Hope College parents and we wanted to stay some place special for a couple extra days to celebrate my daughters graduation. First, the location is awesome. Across the street from a Lake Macatawa access (our balcony had a lake view) and down the street from the Holland State Park Lake Michigan Beach (perfect to watch the sun set). We also hiked Mt. Pisgah a couple of days (just down the street too). We stayed in the Newport (sleeps 8, 4 in beds, 4 in sofa beds). We loved the unit from the decor to the multi level layout and fully stocked kitchen. If someone in your party has trouble with stairs I might pick a unit that has an additional first floor kitchen/bar. There is a jet tub in the master bath and a private patio with a grill off the back of the first floor bedroom. There is also an outdoor grill with patio table seating right off the pool deck for entertaining. The salt water pool and hot tub (mostly the hot tub) was my fav, especially after climbing all those stairs at Mt Pisgah. 8 minutes to downtown Holland and 20 minutes to Saugatuck. Just down the street was a kayak and paddle board rental place. Additionally you get privileges at the Macatawa Golf Club which was very nice. It was worth every penny and we hope to go back again!

We stayed here this weekend for the first time, and it's a very nice B&B. It's located in Fennville…read morebut is more like Saugatuck - it's right off the Blue Star Highway - great location that was close to everywhere we wanted to visit. Amber, one of the owners, greeted us, and is very welcoming - she showed us to our room, the Blue Satin, and told us a little bit about the B&B. The Blue Satin is a suite - you enter from the main building, then go up a flight of stairs to access it. We had a bedroom which was next to a sitting area with a couch and a hot tub, and there's a wall with a fireplace that separates the two rooms. Our bathroom also had a "skylight" of sorts, which was nice because we didn't have to put the regular light on that often. The bed was SUPER comfortable and I especially liked the duvet. Breakfast the next morning had a large variety of things to choose from, including different breads, cereals, drinks (coffee, OJ, milk, chocolate milk, guava juice), and even some hot foods such as eggs, sausage, and tater tots. The Hop & Vine also has a partnership with Fenn Valley Vineyards - they gave us a coupon good for two wine tastings, which we definitely used (nice perk!). The B&B also has a pool and areas for kids to play, such as an outdoor play structure and a volleyball court. If you're visiting with your family, they also have townhomes that you can rent, which are within the main building but have separate entrances. Would definitely stay here again! Everything was super cute and also very comfortable.

From the moment we entered, we received the kindest of hospitality. Scott, the innkeeper, provided us with so much wonderful information on things to do, where to eat and was kind in addressing any of our needs. We had a "romance" package which included wine, $50 credit to a restaurant and chocolate. The room was cozy with a faux fire place and a room overlooking some trees and down to the water. As for the breakfast (ALSO INCLUDED), it was amazing. Scott outdid himself with the quality of breakfast and service. I cannot recommend this place enough. We will be going back. T

The best. THE BEST!…read more Love Beechwood Manor! Stayed here a few weeks ago for my birthday weekend when I found a special online for 2 nights plus one one hour free in-room massage, gift certificate to a restaurant in downtown Saugatuck, and of course the two complimentary brekkies (being that it's a B&B, of course) for $388. Such a steal! The house itself is lovely. Built in the 1870s and renovated a bit but still keeping that Victorian charm. A comfy downstairs sitting area, and cozy dining room and another kitchenette area with a fridge (stocked with complimentary sodas and water), water pot for tea, hot chocolate, etc, and coffee. Oh yay! We stayed in Enid, the largest of the rooms. Very spacious with a sitting area of two chairs and a table, a couple of nightstands, a chest of drawers, a queen sized bed (very comfy and cozy), a fireplace, a small cable tv and dvd player, and cd/radio. It was actually really nice to unplug a bit so we didn't really watch any tv but it was there if you need it. Instead we mostly just lounged around listening to classical music on the radio and Prairie Home Companion. Fit the feel of the room nicely! The adjoining bathroom is a good size too with a lovely and deep clawfoot bathtub (that I definitely took a soak in. AHHH so nice!) and a separate shower. Complimentary bathrobes added to the cozy feeling and the windows had a lovely view for just perching and looking outside. Add that to the most amazing massage ever (seriously, one of the best I've ever had and I'm hard to please) and I walked out of there feeling completely rested and rejuvenated. The hosts/owners, Sal and Gregg are just lovely. Really friendly and chatty, I felt like an honored guest. And they are no slouches in the kitchen, either! Our breakfasts were DELICIOUS. The first day I had the eggs benedict (although the smell of the waffles sure were intoxicating!) and the next morning I had the sweet potato pancakes which I had to force myself to stop eating because they were so tasty but oh so filling! The grounds are lovely and I can't wait to come back in warmer weather for a sit on the porch looking at the trees and Kalamazoo river peaking through (while their super friendly kitty Oscar rubs against your ankles--but don't worry cat allergy folks, kitty does not come into the guest quarters. We only saw him chillin' outside). If you've never been to a B&B I highly recommend starting with Beechwood Manor. Although it's likely any others you visit may not live up!
