Around 5:30 pm we entered and was completely ignored and dismissed by the employee in the front. Once we sat down and enjoyed our time roughly 2 hours in we rudely interrupted and a way that made us feel uncomfortable that we decided to leave. In a space that allows for others to express their self while playing we were rudely told to "Be Quiet" due to our laughter being too loud . However from the moment we entered to the moment we left their was other patrons also expressing themselves in what could be considered "loudly and yelling". As we turned to leave we could hear the same employee that was rude and dismissive our entire time say something along the line of call them a "b**ch". I have never had an experience like that before there.

Their ongoing programming is the ComedySportz program. Short form improv that is guaranteed to make you laugh. The performers are INSANELY talented and you can't go wrong with a good BYO. They do other programming throughout the year as well - long form improv, classes, workshops, bringing in popular acts from other cities, and welcoming in collegiate groups as well. It was hot, but not too crowded, and you could easily cool down with some ice cream (little babys), a popsicle (lil pop shop), Vietnamese iced coffee or Thai iced tea (Soy Cafe, Same Same, Circles), a DUNK TANK ($5 for 3 throws and a beer-and you can dunno your friends! ), or some free drink samples (true organic juice, wine, nesquik chocolate milk, anyone?) The free stuff offerings were strong (not as good as Rittenhouse Festival but better than South Street and Italian Market). This festival's haul included true organic juice sunglasses, a Philly sports and social tshirt that I will probably never wear, and kind bars (do these guys give out more they sell or what? They are really too kind) . Also spotted a lot of coozies, some water bottles, tote bags, the usual (spin all the wheels people!) Food and drink offerings were good, with a variety of restaurant stands (Same Same, Circles, Standard Tap (octopus bruschetta was my favorite bite of the day), Hai Street Kitchen,) food trucks (Cow and the Curd, Poi Dog, Dump and Roll, Mom Moms Polish Food truck) and a lot of your standard bbq offerings and typical festival foods (funnel cake). There were also a few stages with bands, some street performers, some shopping trucks like Smak Parlour lots of craft/Philly t shirts/hippie clothing/jewelry stands, etc. Easily accessible from the Spring Garden or Girard stop on the MFL and you can check out the Piazza afterward or stop in to one of the many restaurants along the festival. I visited Fright Factory this year on the final Saturday (the busiest night)…read morebefore Halloween and it is well worth the money, especially when you can go alone or at most a group of two. The scare actors timed their approaches perfectly and scared the living !@#$%^&* out of me more than ten times. I was scared out of my mind at one point and thought about leaving, but I had to continue because, well, I paid for a VIP ticket! At one point, I could not see in front of me and I felt so discombobulated that I wanted to sit and calm myself down. Right after I left the haunt, I felt really nauseous. That's how scary this was. This haunt is THE BEST HAUNT IN PHILLY 2025. Eastern State Penitentiary was good. Lincoln Mill was better. But this haunt... jeez, it's on another level. Nobody's paying me to say any of this. I like going to places without someone else swaying my opinion. The scenes are really good and well thought out. Lincoln Mill tried copying one of the scenes at Fright Factory but it pales by comparison to Fright Factory. You will be scared out of your mind when the monster approaches you in it. Big props to the creepy clowns. They make Art the Clown look normal by comparison. One clown in particular had this way of approaching me that was hella creepy. I was freaked out! I timed this haunt on my smart watch at 25 minutes from start to finish. It is described as three parts/acts/sections according to their web site and other reviews. There's more to it than just thinking about the haunt as sections. If you submerge yourself into any one room for too long, you will see, as I did, how scary that could be. I was hightailing it out of certain areas as fast as I could as the monsters chased after me, sometimes for long corridors before they let up. You're looking at a much longer haunt stepwise than most other haunts. According to my smart watch, I experienced almost 4 minutes of 127+ bpm heart rate (that's super high intensity), about 11.5 minutes of 99-127 bpm heart rate (high intensity), and 11 minutes of 71-99 bpm moderate intensity. I'm an elite level athlete (#6 in the world in yoga asana competition), so your experience may differ. If you suffer from any heart or breathing conditions, be sure to get that all well-maintained before you enter this scary haunt.

We had purchased our $15 tickets separately and on different days, but when we walked in (through Urban Saloon) before the 8 p.m. show, my friends offered their names and then the host/actress turned to me and said, "And let me guess, are you Kathleen *Last-Name*?" I have NO IDEA how she guessed that. There were a ton of people there! Even more interesting: They appeared to know that we were one of the parties that wanted food and we were seated at the (only?) table with three chairs. I don't know if that was just happenstance because we arrived early enough for a table or what, but I definitely recommend trying to snag one of the tables that wrap around the chairs. Why? Well, because Urban offers $6 flights on select beer options (among other affordable full-size beer options) and it's tough to sit on a chair with a flight. Yeah. Six bucks for four little beers. Nuts. And trust me, you're going to want that flight for the roughly hour and a half-long show. The show is a mix of drinking-related skits and interactive bits, like classic drinking games. For the games, they would roam the audience and call on people. It's likely that I looked mortified when they chose me for a "Would You Rather?" question. It involved puppies and grandmothers and other things that I will not type in a review. It's possible that all the beer has made an impact on my five-star rating. I assume this would not seem quite as hilarious while sober. But while slightly tipsy? Hello, Hello, Fun!
