I only happen to find out, because I had tickets to an event in the State Museum Auditorium. The museum is free and on weekends parking is easy in the free adjacent lot. There is also a Planetarium, which has a $10 admission. The museum is housed on three floors with exhibits illustrating some of New Jersey's history. There is a section with artwork, some Native American history, a natural history area with dinosaurs, history of Trenton, and much more.

Hamilton Square, NJ - this is a sweet little 30-acre botanical garden and park that's free to…read morevisit, featuring specimens collected by gardening enthusiast Frederick Sayen from his world travels. The garden was created in 1912 when Sayen purchased the land with his wife Anne Mellon (of the Mellon family) and built a home in the Arts and Crafts style. The azaleas and rhododendrons are especially magnificent. We visited during the Azalea Festival over Mother's Day weekend, and the flowers were in full colorful splendor. There are ponds, gazebos, and walking trails around the property. My favorite are the wooded trails at one end of the park, but they aren't marked so you could end up wandering around trying to find the exit. Tip: you can find GPS map tracks in AllTrails and Gaia to stay oriented.

They had assigned seating which I was super thankful for (we arrived a few minutes late, so I was afraid of it being too crowded and potentially not being able to sit together). They set up our easels so cute!! Our instructor was Emily, she was really sweet and helpful and was also cracking jokes with the other painters. All of the employees at this location were super kind and helpful! The painting that we did was super beginner-friendly (since I am not an amazing painter) which I greatly appreciated! My friend and I absolutely LOVED the drag show! The drag queens were super friendly and funny! My friend and I each got picked to do a game/activity and we won some prizes! My friend won a trucker hat and I won a drawstring bag with a fan, rubber duck, bracelet, etc! I posted some pictures from the event and all three of the queens commented on my Instagram post which was super cool!

Big Rusty is a different type of troll than I am used to seeing by Thomas Dambo and we almost…read moredidn't make the trip out to see him, but I'm glad we did. Big Rusty is made with a lot more metal than most of the other trolls, which are mostly made from wood. I believe all of his artwork is made from reclaimed items and it was actually nice to be able to see and appreciate this medium. Photos don't do Big Rusty Justice. There there is a real charm to this hungry creation that only comes across when you see himin person. Don't be put off by all the no trespassing signs and road closure signs and dead end signs, etc... it seems that the people who live nearby are just trying to keep visitors away. There is a very clear sign at the beginning of the gravel road that states the city has declared the road open and it is okay for you to visit. You will probably spend as much time walking through the abandoned buildings and looking at the graffiti as you do in appreciating Big Rusty. Art is art and this is definitely worth visiting.

As I approached the covered front patio there were folks on the chairs after their visit just enjoying the cool breeze and contemplating their visit together. You are in the historic Boone Farm after all. It seems fitting. Welcoming. Make your way to the front desk -at your left. You can get some good information . Get your map. Lots to see even there. A huge Selma Burk relief sculpture. Seems quite fitting. She represents so much of the story. Her Bucks County connection and historical connection! She designed the dime in your pocket. The museum honors the African American experience and especially locally. You have the opportunity to learn so many precious stories. BIG BEN! William & Daisy Meyers! Local folks! Even Fredrick Douglas came to BucksCounty & 300+ people came to Newtown Hall, to hear him speak. Harriet Tubman came to and through Bucks County. Learn these stories and so much more. It's quite amazing. Today there were oodles of docents. What an opportunity to learn from them some of which are accomplished authors . I spent two hours and I really could have spent more time. Thanks to all the hardworking people who made this museum possible. Past, present and future. Very inspiring in so many ways.

I hadn't been to a renaissance fair in probably twenty or thirty years, but an acquaintance of mine…read morewas working this fair and posted about it on Facebook, so I decided to bring my girlfriend and 11-year-old son with me for something to do on a Saturday afternoon. I don't have much to compare it to, but all I know is we had a blast! It was raining steadily all day, which did absolutely nothing to dampen the spirits of everyone there. Tons of hardy people were still wandering the grounds, many in incredible and elaborate costumes. Everyone was in such a great mood, it was hard not to be swept up in all of it. The fair was enormous, with something to see and do around every corner. Seven stages with official shows, plenty of games, live animals, a blacksmith demonstration, tons of food, etc. My son particularly loved getting to throw spears and daggers, as well as a free whip lesson. We happily wandered the grounds for several hours and easily forgot about the miserable cold and wet weather. Can't wait for next year!

Maybe it would've been better if the weather was nice but I still think it could've been a better experience - definitely buy your tickets online ahead of time, I bought mine at the door and it was 30 not 25 - plan ahead of time. Apparently they have different acts every weekend and some weekends have celebrity performers. If I knew about this ahead of time I would've gone 2nd weekend and the ticket price would've been worth it - feel free to dress up as extra as you want, honestly seeing all the costumes was my favorite part of the whole experience - food is overpriced as per usual - most of the acts were disappointing but that made have been partially due to the rain - it's mostly a fair for vendors to sell costumes and whatnot

I'd say that the arcade games are on the expensive side as most are 15 credits. It's also not clear which ones earn you tickets for prizes, so some of my kids were disappointed at the end and I had to buy tickets. Some of the equipment is showing some wear and tear (missing zip line on the ninja course, etc.) but the kids didn't mind. Staff were nice too. My only negative that did not impact my review but is important for the business is to take another look at your shelter in place protocols! We were visiting from out of town and it just so happened to be the morning of the active shooter in nearby Levittown. We had paid reservations already, but the team was only letting in birthday party guests. We were told to wait in our car. Since no one knew where the shooter was or the situation, this had both of our families extremely nervous as we waited in our cars in the wide open parking lot and scoured the internet for updates for over an hour until staff finally let us in when we asked again.
