Troy clearly knows his stuff, he makes sure you feel welcome. I did not know what I was walking into with SO many options of good flavors, but he made sure I was getting something I would enjoy. The Yard is the type of tourist trap you would expect. The shakes are phenomenally designed. They are tasty as well. The service is good and very quick. They are large enough to definitely share but what's the fun in that when you're on vacation! You also get to keep the glass so it's a nice little souvenir! They were out of cookies and cream ice cream, as well as chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry! It wasn't a deal breaker but they were messing up several other orders around us as well. The real kicker was the staff. Bless their hearts, there was only four of them. Went here 3 times while in Panama City at Pier Park. Large menu with lots of different options to choose from and so many combinations. Taste: 5 Star AMAZING!! Piled high and hand crafted each one and you can tell they take their time on it to make it pretty! (I love amazing presentation, one of my #1 pet peeves) Tips for the business: they only have plastic forks and they do Not cut through the waffles or donuts. Must get knives! The plates the waffles and donut sundaes come on are way too small, especially when ice cream is runny and you go to cut it and it just overflows. Need to speed up timing on how long it takes so the ice cream doesn't melt or make it in a freezer or something if it's going to take a little bit. Some people say the price is high but I think it is where it should be for the amount that you get, the toppings and the work that goes into it. Customer service could use some work. First time I came in- super friendly, let us sample many different kinds and was great. Second time was ok service. Next time I came in waited about 7 minutes for someone to come to even see us. (Was calling out hello and even popped my head in the back and seen someone and said I would like to order hello and I guess they didn't hear me) luckily the girl who waited on us the day before came from the side and instantly helped us and was very sweet and gave us a knife from the back to use. They def could get some practice in on making the food a little quicker. Takes about 10-12 minutes (each time came in earlier when maybe one or two others were seated and drinking their shakes) The taste is amazing but I didn't like how each time my items came out, my ice cream was pretty much half way melted. The donut sundae was the least melted but the cheesecake waffle sundae I ordered was really melted and runny.
