The yellow deli is a great local place to grab a bite, inside is a very cool atmosphere and they also sell local items. The staff are very friendly and greeted me as I walked in and explained the menu. The service was also great. The samdwhich was very good however it was a bit small for the price. It's a different dining experience. No frills but consistent in good food. Simple menu. Interesting atmosphere. I think that they make everything in house. There's a staircase at the entrance. May not be an ideal venture for some handicaps. There was some construction a the back of dining room last time I was there! Maybe they we're installing some sort of lift! 5 stars for the taste and quality of the food. The ambiance here was amazingly cozy and warm. The waitress and waiter were super polite and helpful. My friend and I tried the Veggie burger and loved the savory freshness of the meal. The avocado was creamy and the patty was so deliciously squishy that it melted in your mouth. The chips were good and so was the cranberry fruit salad with cheese. The cheesecake pie with fruit was the winning meal, it was so sweet and smooth. I couldn't stop eating it. I wish I could bring the entire pie home and not just a slice of it. This is so far my favorite dessert of the year 2020! read more

In town for a lacrosse tournament and the kids and parents needed a fast bite to eat between games. A parent drive past it a bunch of times so we decided to go. We explained we were in a hurry as we needed to be back for the next game. The staff were super friendly and very informative. They explained all the food was in house fresh, organic and from their garden. We got a variety of sandwiches and they were incredible. Fresh roasted chicken, homemade chilly with jalapeño cheese cornbread, fresh roast beef sandwich. Definitely be back there again. read more

Food is excellent,unfortunately the server made a rude comment! Uncalled for and unappreciated. I'd go back as long as he wasn't serving me again !!! Also the server didn't check vaccination cards, threw out the bill before we even paid, also mixing up orders and even over charged us, the orders sat on the counter for a while before serving. read more

I LOVED the Yellow Deli!! My favourite is the cranberry pecan salad! I always order extra pecans, they are sooooo good. Lately I tried their lamb sandwich. It was delicious!! I was sooo impressed. My fave drink is the vanilla chai latte!! And their sour dough bread! Yum! The atmosphere is cozy, and relaxing. The workers friendly and relaxed!! The music isn't loud blaring rock that is in so many restaurants. It's very relaxing and peaceful! On the plus side also: they use grass fed local meats! I'm so glad I found this place! This is a health food shop that houses the "Common Sense Natural Products" but also serves to be the Common Sense Deli and Bakery. It's run by a group of people who are part of the Twelve Tribes Communities. The dress of the staff leans towards hippie gear. You'd likely drive by this place on Des Meurons and not notice this place at all as it's located on the main level of a large building. There are some pretty flowers to draw your attention to the bakery. Here's a warning, they have no air conditioning or it was broken or just not turned on when we were there on a bloody hot and humid day. I would have sat outside but it was about the same inside and out temperature wise. There's a lot of wood work and rustic decor everywhere. They run a small bakery making various breads, cookies, cinnamon buns, cakes etc. They have a small menu of breakfast items, sandwiches, salads, soups, chili and dessert. Tried the "deli rose" $9 - roast beef, corned beef, provolone hot pepper jack, tomato, onion, mayo, mustard and their special sauce on an onion bun plus a side of chips or veggie bowl with a pickle. Not sure if the deli meat was made in house as it tasted like store bought stuff. The sandwich was heated which I didn't love as the mayo and the special sauce was also warmed up too. I wasn't a fan of the sandwich - too heavy. The chips are the plain old dutch type. Service was odd. The first server was awkward and slow as I had to flag her down to take our order. Then the next person who served us threw the straws onto our table instead of placing it on the table which was kinda rude. I don't think he meant to be rude but it sure came across as that. The other staff were nice when we wandered into the health food portion of the store where they sell teas, various grains, seasonings, spices, jams etc. It's a unique place and worth a visit to experience but I don't think I will be running back. read more

I had no idea this restaurant existed! I had been in their 4 or 5-story building 4 or 5 years ago because someone told me they sold exotic spices and teas. Just lately my work colleague told me they now have a restaurant! So we went to try it out. The decore reminds me of a ''Hobbit'' like kingdom (do not worry the seats and the tables are full size and comfortable! All staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. One of the staff even showed us the work done to date to add on to the restaurant seating. The addition is beautiful and unique. We found the lunch-hour home-made soups, made to order sandwiches and home made pastry QUITE tasty, unique and reasonable in price. Tonight my wife and I plan on going for 5:00 pm supper (no reservations needed to date) to try out their supper menu. This is a unique and a healthy alternative to say the least! :o) read more

The service is "awkward" because the staff are community members (12 Tribes) not trained and lacking in business sense and training. Even the "managers" who are the community leaders have little or no experience in dealing with the public and generally lack any marketing skills. This illustrates itself in their spending a great deal of cash, manpower and effort in building a 4 story fireplace instead of providing a basic need such as air conditioning. read more

As soon as i informed the cashier of the purpose of this letter he coldly said "we don't donate to charities" and proceeded to walk away. For your benefit next time take the letter and throw it in the garbage if that is the case.
