I've got super kinky curly hair and no spine. I wouldn't recommend her for curly hair because of how she brushed out my hair alone. She didn't section it and just sped through it with a paddle brush and said "it sounds worst than it is" yeah... no. It was aggressive. And she didn't put any product in my hair before brushing it. Then the two strand twists that I asked for had me looking like Celie instead of the photos I showed her. The worst part is she cut her finger while cutting my hair and tried to act like it didnt happen for a second until she saw me see her with the cut on her finger. Again, I have no spine so we waited for it to clot and we went on with he appointment. After I was sitting under the dryer a family came in (and did I mention that I don't have a spine?) i wanted her removed my hair from the brush and immediately start brushing a little girls hair. I love her online appointment booking process, it was super simple and easy to use. She also makes her own oil and the Celie twists were soft and lasted for a few weeks (yes I still wore them!) but $170 for my hair to be ripped out and be in a droplet precaution is not it for me. I was able to wash and re-twist my hair so that I actually looked like I was intentionally wearing them in a style instead of just twists to take out and style. read more

First of all Shona actually answers the phone with a friendly and kind attitude which doesn't always happen. Second, she is very up front with her prices so there's no games involved. I have gone here for 7 or 8 months, getting my roots done and my ends blonde. It's always been a 3 ring circus. Multiple clients up to 4 being worked on at the same time, playing musical chairs for hours. It takes twice to triple the time to get my hair done, more than anywhere else. Often I would hear Shona's other customers complaining of how long it took, and they needed to go. Shona doesn't appreciate or care about her clients time, at all. This last time I went, again, it took twice the time it would've anywhere else, but after paying $200, and Shona blow drying my hair after dying/bleaching, etc... I went home and found a bunch of burgundy hair dye in my ear and ear lobe. I mean quite a bit!! And then I noticed stains on my face and forehead from the hair dye. Seriously??!! I had to rinse my hair and wash off the excess hair dye out of my hair, ear and face. Mind you this is almost an hour after she had hair dye in my hair! I was not pleased! I reached out to Shona via text to let her know what happened and her only response was... sorry.. I was distracted. Seriously? Very very unprofessional. I would not recommend this salon or Shona to anyone!! I will never ever go here again. And beware if you do. Very unpleasant, unprofessional service. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. I came here to get a Brazilian Wax done. The lady that did mine didn't even introduce herself. She acted as though she was in a hurry. She burned me severely as you can see in the picture. She also left a lot of hair and wax all over me. She gave me a towel to clean it up myself. She didn't do anything to help with the pain as I've seen other people do. I recently went to Divine Design Hair Studio to get a crochet hairstyle by Rah and my experience was nothing short of great. The ship owner was very welcoming and the ship was very well maintained. Rah is a young stylist who is very professional and knowledgeable about the services she provide. This was my first crochet hairstyle so I had a few questions about maintenance, versatility of the hairstyle as well as the longevity of it and she answered and explained everything until I felt comfortable. She didn't braid the foundation extremely tight which I loved however it was very neat. From the time I booked the service with her she walked me through everything from giving me options and suggestions on hair and where to find it. She keep in constant contact with me until my arrival and went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied. She also asked for my opinion throughout the process instead of just doing what she wanted and I found that to be very pleasing.
