She promotes teamwork, dedication and responsibility.. all tremendous life skills needed on and off stage. ICE has filled a huge gap for our community where other theater programs were lacking- we had tried numerous other programs before and I felt like it was just a money grab. Emilie not only teaches the kids in rehearsals, but works tirelessly to bring subject-matter experts in for workshops (resume building, how to nail an audition, etc.) We are so proud to be part of the ICE family!

On Monday and Tuesday, the lady at the front desk seemed confused and/or was texting on her phone. Yesterday, we were 2min early and she told us to have a seat in the front because she didn't realize the students had already been called into the class. We noticed that and then she said OK yeah go on back. On both days, I walked my daughter into the class and no Sensei greeted her. There was a female sensei, and she was standing against the wall with her arms behind her back, and I sat there for several minutes and I never saw her approach any of the kids. Today, at drop off, there was no one at the front desk. That's a safety concern. I walked my daughter into the classroom and again, no one greeted her and one Sensei was texting on his phone. It just seems as if the program has been left without adequate supervision and no courtesy greetings or anything acknowledging the kids or offering assistance when they first sit down. It's basically like my kid is just there to sit on the computer by herself for three hours. I asked her if the senseis offer help during the course and she said ....a couple of times. My expectation is definitely more than a couple of times. I wanted to share that feedback with you in case you are the owner or franchisee. Disappointed,

Plus all vaccines and boosters. Plus they will send your kid home for 10 days with a positive test. It's a very extreme position for a kids program. I'm ok on vaccines but this is going to wild extremes. Best was I just got told I need to pay for the 20 quick tests my kid is supposed to have.

The 2 Cast members were amazing! They kept us entertained and laughing the entire time! At the intermission, they have coffee/tea and desert at the same time. We appreciated this because you're always too full to eat desert with dinner but this gave everyone plenty of time to be ready for the delightful carrot cake they provided. The 2 Stars also stood around after the event to talk to everyone and take pictures! I highly, highly recommend this event! What made it even more special was that I was able to take my 15-year-old also!

After that, I have to say things went off the rails a bit. For a start, this is the first "theatre" that had no stage. Not a small stage, no stage at all. We found ourselves, a group of 30-40 people crammed into a large room on the second floor with barely any room in July with AC so weak it was never below 76F. Then the show began. I was expecting a curtain to rise and a stage to appear, but sadly all the story and acting was done between the tables. I will say the acting ranged from surprisingly good to the obviously inispired acting of the audience members who decided to join in. The story was comedic and easy to follow, with references to Sherlock Holmes and even Indiana Jones. Sadly the heat and the terrible location without a stage made it hard to enjoy when the cast is constantly moving around. If they get a proper venue, I am sure they do wonderful things, but this was more like a test run. That I paid for.

Just completed a Theology of Work intensive class. Two Friday and Saturdays all day for two…read moreweekends. When they say intensive, they mean intense. The professors were great, there was a lot of discussion (10 students from many different traditions), and the time really flew by. Learned a lot on the Biblical and historical perspectives of work and a more modern view of how to get joy from doing it. It really did change my perspective quite a bit on work as God ordained it. The Seminary is a great place too. Located right by the metro, lots of local eateries (try out the Kabob place), great internet access, free coffee, and the staff are all very helpful. A very comfortable and real place.

We have 2 children who have been studying at CSM for 8 years (voice, violin, guitar, and music theory). The instructors are talented, compassionate, and passionate educators. They work with both children and adults to foster a love of music and a safe place for creative expression. They view every student individually, demonstrating an intuitive balance of pushing for results and encouraging the best work. They listen and tailor their teaching styles to suit the students. My children have received expert advice to help them achieve their dreams as well as mentors who care about them. CSM has many wonderful offerings, including private lessons, group learning, ensembles, open mic nights, and music labs. In addition to running a fantastic music education program, the owners of CSM give back to the community and the world, sponsoring music scholarships and Salvation Army giving campaigns and volunteering their time to teach music in Haiti. My daughter and I were thrilled when DGA relocated to their new Aldie/Arcola location - quite…read moreconvenient for us. They have a large, open viewing area and plenty of space. In addition, there are several class options and multiple times for all skill levels. (Important to note - if your gymnast is practicing at an intermediate or advanced level and does not wish to be on one of their teams - it is in your best interest to first ask if the coach assigned has the ability to properly and safely spot your child.) Also, DGA has an amazing presence at all DMV area meets (State and National ones too). Their Developmental (DP) and Xcel teams, both, are a force to be reckoned with - as this is a well established - fact in the gymnastics community. My daughter had been taking lessons and was really enjoying them until she took a fall. I specifically asked the coach ( who was not her regularly scheduled coach - the class assigned coach was on the gym floor just not, for whatever reason, teaching that class.) who brought her back to the waiting/viewing area what happened. I directly asked if my daughter's fall was her fault - was she being unsafe. The coach expressly told me no, my daughter was assigned a drill (in the previous class) that should not have been assigned. No further explanation was given. My daughter had explained to me what had transpired. My daughter was in pain - another coach (not affiliated with DGA) told me to take her to a specialist. No one at DGA reached out to see how she was feeling, no one even said we hope she feels better. The entire situation was completely ignored - this is not just unprofessional; it is also unkind and unempathetic. DGA is currently and actively working at becoming the number one power- house gymnastics facility in the DMV. They should, first and foremost, actively work on improving their coaches' communication skills, feigning compassion, and being committed to always implementing safety.

Under the guidance of Coaches Zac, Ceyara, Cam, and Shauna our daughter has made great strides in her abilities. One thing inexperienced cheer parents, or rec/sideline cheer parents may not realize is that for your kid to excel at an all star level it requires dedication not only from your cheerleader but also from you. I won't lie. It is very expensive. It's very time consuming. But the payoff is that your cheerleader WILL improve in ways you didn't expect. Do not go into all star cheer putting in the bare minimum and expect amazing results. Our daughter is in the gym 5 days a week for practice and extra classes. Where the Rays add value is the class prices. Some gyms look to squeeze you for extras but not at the Rays. If you want to take your cheerleader's development seriously, give the Stingray Allstars one season and you'll see what I mean.

They happened to be closed that day, but the owners were there and kind enough to show us the gym and talk to us about classes. I registered her in tiny cheer, which she has been going to for three weeks. After every class she tells me how happy she is and how nice her coach and new friends are. I am very impressed with the coaches and their ability to manage several 3-4 year olds and still successfully teach them. My daughter is the youngest in her class, so I didn't expect her to learn much at first, but she is learning something new or improving basic skills each week. I am very happy with the pure joy that she gets from going to the Stingrays gym.
