There's nothing like finding an unexpected gem while waiting for one's antique shopping in Jersey. There is something quite special in an item that has a history and a story behind its life and purpose. Located off of Lafayette Avenue in Hawthorne, we discovered this establishment offering antiques, furniture, household goods, and collectibles. Upon arriving at the entrance in the back, which might look small from the outside, Then and Now Consignment Shop with its floor-to-ceiling and in every nook and cranny, items come in all shapes and sizes, and finding the perfect one for your collection can be a real accomplishment. My partner and I came here looking for something to put our artificial, realistic flowers in. Already have our eyes on a couple of items and finally found a beautiful glass vase at a reasonable price. This is all worth a visit and has enough stock to keep collectors of all manner of items happy, which we can recommend. read more

I still like the place but if they don't feel the deal they agreed to was good enough they seem to add a random 'consignment tax' for whatever amount out of thin air, that they weren't able to explain when asked about; please beware!! I shop vintage and consignment always I've never heard of a consignment tax! read more

The parking lot is located down and to the Left...to the right is residential parking. Great little spot to spend a good hour poking through to see what you find. So many gems and old goodies that you'll be feeling nostalgic for a charming past time. read more

This is what an antique store should be! Lots, LOTS to look at and dig a bit, prices are reasonable and the gentlemen working there, assuming the owners, and super nice and helpful. Any time I am in this area I will stop in. Two thumbs up!! read more

They had lots of unique items, but the prices were ridiculously high for what they were. For example, a rusty, dilapidated spoon would be like $12. When it should be like two dollars at the most. The store was cluttered from side to side and it was hard to get through. The stuff probably has been sitting there for eons because of the outrageous prices. You would think they would try to sell the items at reasonable cost to make room for newer items to arrive. Every single nook and cranny was crammed with assorted antiques, and it was hard to even pick one thing up without bumping into another thing. The Floor boards are spongy and deteriorating. Unfortunately, I will not be returning as it was not worth the trouble to try to find a treasure that was too expensive to begin with. read more

This is a not to be missed store. Floor to ceiling collectibles in every nook and cranny. Be prepared to be overwhelmed. Items are somewhat disorganized and messy making it very time consuming. It's like digging for a treasure. Use caution! I would recommend at least several hours to fully enjoy this experience. This store is located behind the Hawthorne fire station. Down the driveway next to the station and go left. Covid protocols in place. Plenty of easy parking. What an exciting experience! read more

The people here are very nice and everything is categorized well. Prices fluctuate between being cheap to overpriced, but they're more on the low side. They have a parking lot which is rare for their area. I highly suggest coming here if you like vintage/consignment shops. read more

Very nice people. They had a lot of things. I went there for the camera section wasn't majorly big but it did a few classics. Walked away with one camera and a old box which I turned into a flower pot. It's hidden in a back area which I like just hard trying to turn out. Great place to visit. read more

Always fun to walk around and see whats new. Beautiful antiques, old furniture, and knick knacks line the store. Check out the back room for some neat man-cave type stuff. Want antique kitchenware? they have a whole section with cast iron, pots pans, knives, bowls, milk containers...etc. Prices are reasonable. Good place to consign your items. They have pretty high volume. The owners are nice and give you your distance. Though they are skilled in the art of banter. Plus, they post pics on facebook. This place is unbelievable. The kindest owners, the most AMAZING humongous selection - I have trouble believing this is a real place!!! The family who owns it is incredibly funny and nice and know the story behind almost every item, and are happy to answer any questions you may have. It's such a tasteful collection and in such a surprising back location. I feel so lucky to have found this place - it immediately feels like a second home! This place is amazing and such amazing things. The staff is so friendly and the prices are incredible. Every item tells a story and that item could be yours. Just make sure you have some time, because not only will you buy something, but you will go around a couple of times and not see the same stuff twice. I think this antique shop is great and they seem very nice but never consign here, I gave them an old stained glass lamp worth over 150$ and never got anything for it because I didn't check up with them for several years. Now I get it , it is my fault I let this time surpass without contacting them or checking up on the item but why would a place like this donate something without contacting the owner/seller???? They DONATED it, what a load of shit , maybe they did donate it but I think it's fucked up that I gave someone something that belonged to me and they just gave it away like it was theirs. I won't be back just based on this whole experience, they need to change their consignment policy and I'll let others know about this to stay away, you guys need to change this it ain't right, and it's a shame because there are some beautiful items in the store read more

The Good: The people who run the store seem to know what they are talking about. They get an array of items in everyday. The Bad: They are not liable if your item is lost or stolen. After a period of time you have to go in and take your item back or it will be "donated" I had two rock lamps that went missing and I was not paid for. When I went back to retrieve them at the end of the period they were MIA and they said they remember selling them yet I did not get my commission. The Ugly: I had a fireplace there which they didn't want to take because it was big (the size of a fire place) after I brought it in shoppers there were interested in the item so they took it. It took two days to sell. I waited for my check and no fireplace was on it. That was the last time I consigned and shopped with them. My tip? Shop there but don't consign. Sell it on a local Facebook group or craigslist. read more

SUCH AN AMAZING PLACE! Literally packed to the brim with treasures, so many different things to look at. Sectioned off into different categories (Kitchen, Clothing/jewelry, books, furniture etc). What a fun find this was! My husband and I were driving up from the City to Warwick for the drive in theater and I hoped to find a flea market along the way. I searched google and found this gem, it's a store but might as well be a flea market with multiple vendors. I spent two hours pouring over the shelves and found a few treasure to take home. This place is like going to a museum! I loved it. My bf was looking for some pants. Unfortunately, there isn't much of a clothing selection, and pretty much nothing for guys. I happened to buy 2 leather jackets: a long brown one, and a heavy duty black biker looking one. I also found a cool NY Giants necklace. I got the first jacket for $26, the second for $40, and the necklace for $7. I also checked in on yelp and got 10% off! It is a really sweet place. I dropped by a week ago an hour before closing and don't think I saw 5% of the merchandise! I am pretty sure they own at least one of each collectible I have ever seen. In the end I purchased 2 Kosta Boda items with original boxes for $6. I will be sure to drop by again with plenty of more time! read more
