I am out-of-State, (NH) and UPS's my Seiko Model QXM116BRH Melodies in Motion Wall Clock to Paul G. on August 15th, received by him on 8/20/2025. It has now been over two months, and he will not answer my emails, texts, and phone calls to give me an update and price for repairs, etc. I now have no confidence in this person and feel as though I have been Scammed. I feel as though he might have sold my clock and will not answer my inquires. My disadvantage is living out of State but I did have a credible recommendation from a Seiko Company to contact this person for repairs. I just had to mention my wonderful experience with the Village Timekeeper shop. I dropped off 2 clocks for repairs. I have to Thank Paul for helping restore my heirloom Seth Thomas mantel clock. It is my family treasure, and I thought I would never hear the chimes again. The clock runs perfectly and plays it wonderful chimes once again. I rarely give 5 stars but this business deserves it. I have a cuckoo clock that has significant sentimental value which was not working and in pieces. I took it somewhere else where it just sat for months with nothing done so I wasn't optimistic. Paul cleaned and fixed the clock so it looks and sounds like new. He spent time with me explaining how to set it, clean it and fix any minor problems with it. The place looks a bit overwhelming but Paul was very detail oriented and organized with the clock. This clock had been part of an estate battle and was mishandled by someone who should not have even had it. It was finally turned over to me dirty, in pieces, a total mess. For many years I have been very pleased with the Paul, the Timekeeper. Having a mantle clock from early 1900's, Paul has always been able to fix it : it runs like a new clock. Scenario 1: The Village Timekeeper had my clock for over five months, multiple calls, and emails, with no response. When trying to pick it up out of frustration, was treated rudely, and argumentative. Trying to avoid an further escalation I cooled down and was told "I do not keep a clock longer than I have to"....figure give the proprietor another chance. Another three weeks goes by....contacted, and told he was unable to fix it...would take an additional two to three months, cost close to $785!!! ....or you can take it home....which I did. Scenario 2: Took it to a more reputable repair shop - Andrews Clocks in Hillsdale. Repairman had it for two days and figured out the problem!! Explained the issue and was in constant communication. The shop kept it an extra week to ensure it was working, andrunning properly. The cost was half the price !! If you want to take your clock to a place where it will reside in a haphazard shop in disarray, and where will have no communication whatsoever, until the rude owner is ready to reach out to you, then the Village Timekeeper is the place to go! If there was a zero rating, then the Village Timekeeper would get a zero. I sent my clock to him last May 2023. I told him that this clock was a sentimental piece, since, my late husband bought it for me. He came recommended by Seiko customer service. I contacted this man numerous times. He never answers the phone, his mobile, or the store's phone. However, on rare occasions, he might respond to your text messages. His first excuse was he forgot about my clock. Then he was waiting on the parts. Then he's testing to make sure it works. Each time it's a different excuse. Fast forward to over a year of having my clock, after telling him I would take further action. He tells me he could not get the parts and couldn't complete repairs. I finally received my clock today. I would advise everyone to refrain from taking their clock to The Village Timekeeper. You won't get it back anytime soon. read more

if you want it done well. if you want a craftsman to really take the time to fix your clock well this is the place to go. if you just want someone to make it work fast and get it back in a week you might want to go elsewhere. remember this is one man who works in an area that few work in. these things take time. No pun intended. I had a very old clock. an heirloom passed down from a few generations. other clock makers had damaged it in order to make it run for awhile. it is now completely overhauled. parts replaced and parts fixed and lubricated. I couldn't be happier. it will be around to be handed down to another generation. yes it took time. yes sometimes her was so busy he didn't call back immediately. But in the end my click looks and runs like new. He took the time to explain how to take care of it and explain how it runs. I highly recommend this place. read more

Believe the other one star reviews. This is a guy who should not own a business. He has no idea what customer service is. He may be a good clock repairman (jury is still out on that) but he has zero communication skills. He had my clock for almost a year, didn't return numerous calls to inquire when my clock would be ready. When I went to his shop he was rude and arrogant, not apologetic at all. He actually had the audacity to say " If I called everyone back who had questions about their clock I would never get any work done". Here is an idea, HIRE SOMEONE to handle customer service, because you suck at it. I had to get the police involved to finally retrieve my clock. This was by far the worst business experience I have ever had. Shame on me for not believing that a business owner could be as bad as the one star reviews this guy got. Hello everyone , I wrote a bad review on the village Timekeeper last week because he had my clock for 7 months. After 5 months, he mailed it back to me broken. I was so upset so I called him and he told me to mail it back. Two months later, now August, I still did not have my clock back. 180.00 later, I received my clock back still broken. Such a terrible business man. Please don't use the Village Timekeeper. 8/28/2019 - I want everyone to know how upset I am, not about the $180.00, but about my clock that's over 40 years old. paul, is not only a bad businessman , but a terrible clock repair man. After plugging my clock in yesterday, i saw that not only did a piece broke off while he was repairing it, but the original problem still exists, The little man that works the wheel still misses the groove, which was the original problem. I think the other reviews are pretty spot on. Delays are expected. Covid causes delays but I dropped off a clock for repair almost 5 months earlier and was told several weeks. Every time I called it was " next Friday", " next week" etc. finally when it hit 4 months I asked for my clock back. It is an old family piece and I was getting nervous. Now Paul just refused to answer call or texts. Only when I threatened to go to the police and social media did he call back and blame the delays on Covid. I said fine but that's not what you had been saying when you were lying over the past 4.5 months telling me next week, parts are here, etc. He was rude, arrogant and unapologetic. How he stays in business is beyond me ..... finally after threatening to sign a complaint with police I was able to get my clock back. Not repaired. Missing a screw but back. We would NEVER recommend The Village Timekeeper to anybody for these undisputed FACTS 1) Dropped off clock June 2018 2) September 27th agreed to fix clock for $245 3) Numerous phone messages left at The Village Time Keeper, without one return call 4) Very poor business practice! 5) More than a couple of times we had to personally go there only to be LIED too. One time the owner Paul Grandinetti told us "sorry but I am waiting for a part". Which was another LIE! He never replaced anything on the clock. He only repaired the clock? Paul Grandinetti stated a few times that we can pickup the clock after 10 days. NOT TRUE 6) The owner Paul Grandinetti is not man of his word 7) Finally after 9 months we could pick up the clock (MARCH 2019) 8) The price was $50 more than what we agreed upon. Without any prior notification 9) Paul Grandinetti stated that if we paid cash we would not have to pay tax 10) Paul Grandinetti is very unprofessional I wonder how many other customer did he ripped off???? Last week, I called about a Howard Miller wall clock that needed repair. The clock was brought in on a Saturday morning and it was ready on Tuesday. The owner Paul was quick, efficient and very nice. I was never able to use the village timekeeper. Despite the hours be listed on the website the owner sell seldom answers the phone. I was trying to bring a grandfather clock in for repair and had gone to great effort to get a truck and someone to help me. I left multiple messages and never even received a phone call back. So very satisfied with the repair of my forty-year-old clock (had been a wedding gift) that suddenly just stopped working! I left the clock on Thursday afternoon, and the very next day it was ready for pick up!
