I went in and the woman was sitting at the front and appeared surprised I came in. She instantly stood and brought me to a room right next to the front door. She put me in the room and asked if it was okay, and told me to get ready and she'd be back before leaving. There was no sheet to cover myself up, and i asked for one before being providing it. I began to look for a spot to put my bag and noticed a sewing machine at the base of where my feet would go. Overall this felt like they were very unprepared for me. There was a curtain for the door allowing me to hear every word of a customer who was getting ready to leave as well as the woman at the front desk. I decided from here I'd be leaving as I did not feel safe or as if i would be able to properly unwind or relax. I would highly recommend that consideration for safety, and relaxation is considered by the business as clients are coming here to unwind and this would likely not feel safe for most women. If someone came into this business the room they put me in would be easily accessible or viewable. I just imagine with the location of this room that it would potentially be thought of as a bathroom. Maybe someone else's experience would be better but I would not return here as I need to not worry about my safety when going to get a massage.

I like very firm pressure and she totally delivers...no wimpy massages here! She has magic hands and seems to find every sore or tight spot, even the ones I don't know that I have. She always seems to be intensely focused on me and my massage for the entire duration of the service--in other words, I feel like I am getting my money's worth! Julie puts me at ease and doesn't make small talk, letting me get into my "zone" and concentrate on breathing and releasing tension. Bonus is that the studio is located in my neighborhood and within walking distance of my house. It's not a busy place with lots of people coming in and out-- in fact each time I have been there, I was the only client. It makes for a really relaxed experience. Oh, and the online scheduling option is great! A couple things to be aware of: The studio is located in the second floor of a older home, which I think is super cozy, but may not be for everyone (i.e. it is not a luxury spa). It is also a little warmer in hot months, again, not a problem for me but if you like a really cool room it's something to consider. It is located just off a busy intersection and not too far from the airport, so there is some traffic/airplane noise, but I'm a city gal so I hardly notice. Inside, there's a simple but comfortable waiting room. My reflexologist Mary Ann welcomed me warmly and since it was my first time, told me about reflexology and how it works. She asked if I had anything in particular I wanted to work on, and got started. My feet are usually so ticklish, but they weren't at all during the session! Throughout, Mary Ann told me which pressure points correlated to which parts of the body - so fascinating. I could definitely tell when she hit the points that correlate with where I hold tension: my neck, shoulders, and lower back. It was a soothing and relaxing session, and I learned so much. At the end, Mary Ann even showed me which parts of my hand I can press on myself when I'm feeling tension in certain areas. I expected it to feel good but I didn't expect it to change the course of my pregnancy. I had been having at least two headaches a week up until that point. Julie also explained when something she was doing could be done by my husband to help me get through the rest of my pregnancy and labor. It was really nice to go home with some tips!
